Met with the arborist dude and he'll send me a couple of proposals for the HOA. And done in time for a snack and my workout at two.

Otherwise, a quiet day. I'm starting Roomba now, to run this afternoon. Needed with Friday night dinner/company.

TA-DA! It only took me 2 hours to get our tax information ready to deliver to CPA. I still have 27 minutes left. I remember the hours/days/weeks of effort when we worked, had farm and car wash business. Now tax prep is so easy! I am tempted to do my own taxes because they are simple now, but promised myself that I would never yield to that temptation again. I learned my lesson.

DS16 called and asked if I would put a loaded baked potato in the microwave to heat. He was traveling by our home in between destinations for his boss. Because all ingredients were ready to eat, it was quick and easy to prepare. DS16 and friend have set a goal to not eat out except on Saturday. They are going from eating out multiple times a day to only once a week? They are shooting for the stars with this change. I applaud their effort and desire to eat healthier.

I have been to do an errand.
There was an detour on the way glad I was save and had left a bit later than I'd planned.
Got my eye exam scheduled.
Picked up rotisserie chicken and sewing machine needles.
Home again and cleared off and cleaned my desk put a diff. cloth on it.

Lunch in a bit. Had a bite after deboning that chicken.
Started soup for later on it turned out yummy!

Rain showers today looks like we are between showers now.
Did my dishes.
Swept the driveway.
Moved planters to carport.
Got the trash ready to go to the curb.
Got a dish cloth past half way.
Soup is containerized now.
Had class.
Read a chapter.
We have twisters in our forecast this week.

Twin's, I'm off to Sweden (Malmö which is across from Copenhagen, so flying in to there), then to Luxembourg. Sweden is to visit our honourary nephew, and Luxembourg will add another country to my count of places I've been. Dh has a conference there so I'll be on my own for 4 days but expected to go out to dinners at night. Dh proudly pointed that out, as if it was a good thing!

I'm done with travel so dh has to travel by himself all of the time now. I'm sorry about that but not sorry about not traveling. With the environment changing quickly now and flying such a major source of emissions, I don't want to fly for no good reason. Seeing family is really the only thing that had me agree to this trip. Originally it was to include a trip to Cypress to see dh's actual nephew but they were too busy for a visit. That would have had us flying all the way across Europe to just 100 miles from a war zone which is a double "not interested" from me. Once that part of the trip was cancelled, I agreed to see our honourary nephew. He came and stayed for a while in 2021 or 2022, so it hasn't been forever but it has been long enough and dh and been to see him once already in Sweden (he was in France before that, and Germany before that.)

This is my first overseas flight since Feb 2020 (and only my second flying trip, the first being last month.)

LadyM: big bouquets to you for getting that tax paperwork together. That's on my to-do list for this week while dh is away.

The Monday house blessing is done except for dusting the office which I'll do later. The kitchen floor got mopped so I'm pleased about that although the mop water wasn't too dirty.

I'm going to be sore from the vacuuming and mopping so will start another round of physio now.

Tax info is now in the hands of CPA. ***Big sigh of relief*** I have been getting worse every year about tax prep procrastination. I just looked and it was August 13th last year before our taxes were done. I am a professional level procrastinator in some areas of my life. It doesn't make sense to put that pressure on myself.

DH is having a mental struggle day. Now that I know the signs, it is easier to recognize what is happening. I raise my level of monitoring him to keep him safe.

I am going to take a break and then start the prep for tomorrow. Three fellas will be here doing maintenance on water softener system and reverse osmosis equipment. This means stuff needs to be moved from two walls of the garage so they can easily access the equipment and have room to work.

There was someone else at the afternoon craft group today for the first time in a while. She was making an Easter wreath.

Home from workout - it's always a great workout and I'm tired after. Didn't feel much with it today but I got through it and feel more with it tbh.

I got the Roomba going before I left and it's doing its thing, so far successfully.

Kathryn, the trip sounds like fun and a change of scenery for you. Dh will be wanting to travel more once he retires. I'm conflicted about traveling though. Even the domestic flights we've had recently have had delays and issues and he wants to leave early in the morning because he's a morning person and I feel like cr@p the first day.

I'm heading out now to walk the dog. I'd prefer to do a little later but she is insistent now.

Did 15 minutes on the treadmill and then my physio. Went downstairs and picked up the mail (which I haven't done for ages so the box was full.) I've started my dinner prep, just reheated schnitzel with some roast potatoes so the potatoes are on right now. Time to add the schnitzel to the pan. The salad is half made.

At least I'm eating well while dh is away. There are lots of meals in the freezer to keep me going. I just remembered there's probably a pork stirfry somewhere in one of the freezers as well.

DD13 is home from school. I like that she came out of school smiling and chatting.

I haven't started preparing the garage area for tomorrow maintenance work yet. I got sidetracked with a different project. I forgot we asked a fella to replace a door and install a storm door on the shop. He is here working on that project. It isn't an easy replacement. One of the joys of living in a 60 year old home is repairs don't happen like newer homes. Expect the unexpected. Concrete is having to be busted, metal is being cut, studs and headers are being replaced. In a newer home it would be simple to take a door out and replace it. ANYway, I moved a chair to shaded area for DH to sit and watch. DH doesn't remember who the fella is that is doing the repairs, but DH has known him all his life....and knows 3 generations of his family even though DH can't remember them either. The fella understands and is kind with DH.

howdy - just a quick hi - I have been gone all day with mom - dh did well while I was gone - I spoke to him multiple times. mom had what they think was a mini stroke. She woke up and her words were all jumbled. I am grateful that I am good in emergencies. I stayed calm and followed protocol - I had all the meds/all her medical.

the ambulance picked her up. I went to our hospital but they didn't tell me that they went to a different hospital. a half hour later we figured out that they took her someone else - I had been sitting at our hospital.
I called the fire department - it was a mistake and like all - people make a mistake. It was better for her to go to stroke center.

I got lost bc the gps took me to a hospital center but not the hospital-the staff was very anxious and relieved when I came. it took forever to find the correct address but I got there- one hour later. mom had been given meds and a ct scan - she was back to normal! No drooping of limbs or face!


they are giving her an MRI now - my brother is there. and I left at 4:30 pm.
she was good and hopefully it was a slide by plaque or blood clot.
dd's and I said it was actually a win - dh was great when I got home, mom's episode was much better than it could have been.
