Re: New Adventures Sunday PWYC
I went to the rock and gem show. Very small, with just 10 tables. I got a replacement leather string for my little pouch. I usually have at least on tumbled stone in the pouch depending on what I'm going through. I bought a tumbled African bloodstone for a friend whose birthday was yesterday.
I am making rigatoni and meat sauce for supper. Dh's sauce will also have hot Italian sausage. I put some plain sauce aside for me.

Hello, everyone!
Fake flowers have*definitely* improved from my childhood years, when they used to come free with soap powder. I remember they were in video, often improbable colours like a bright blue rose. Today's are much more realistic.
Today has been church, with coffee afterwards, followed.by roast lunch at home,. folding and PA laundry, some garden time and more work on the photos. (I've got woefully behind in ordering prints from the photos on my phone and putting them in albums,
but I have now done all the cat photos, which constitute the vast majority of the photos,
for 2022 and 2023. So next time (hopefully next weekend) I'll start on 2024.

Re: New Adventures Sunday PWYC
I ate dinner and gotten Sunday dinner done it was not as good as some taste was fine
but the meat was leaner and not as tasty. Did chop it up like shredded and put in the liquid
in a casarole dish that had a lid in the fridge to let it get more moist should be great by tomorrow.
Cleaned up after that and it's good to get the crock pot put away.
I got the two beds by the deck and patio filled a trash can yea for great weather this afternoon.
Did a pick up and dishes are waiting till after dinner.
Read a couple of chapters and am nearly to the half way point in my latest thrifted book.
Dishes are done!

Cathy, when we were in NYC in December I was taken by a bloodstone “worry stone” in a holiday market. My dais had a worry stone which she alw@ys had in her hand.
I am checked into hotel about 6.5 hrs from home, that leaves approximately 1.5 hrs tomorrow to drive. I have time for an adventure along the way!

For the 2nd time in the last 3 days I have sent the teens on errands for me. It is a good way to get DD13 into a social situation that she feels comfortable doing. Today's errand was shoe shopping. Both the teens found shoes and now they are going out to eat together, get fuel and meander their way back home. DD16 girlfriend has a huge heart and seems to understand autistic ways and includes DD13 in their activities. I think she is a good influence on DD13.
I am in "try it and see if it works" mode. I am putting lace curtains over the top of the raised beds in the garden. I am a little spooked by how close we were to getting golf ball sized hail last night that happened a few miles away. Being springtime on the plains means there is probably 75% chance hail will happen here in the next couple of weeks. Will lace curtains slow down hail enough to protect the plants? I am doubtful but I have the lace curtains on hand so am giving it a try. Besides......I like unique and having lace curtains over the raised beds is certainly........something. I am not sure if it looks beautiful or trashy. I suppose it is in the eyes of the beholder.

Stay safe on your adventures, Twins' Mom! Thanks for letting us know.
Hi, helia.
Still wondering about the In Canada and the lucylee households - hoping for recovery, for feeling well.
Noticed that blessed was able to post briefly in cardfile and had had some positive moments today.
Ds called and chatted while he waited to pick up our green-eyed boy from church event. They are doing well. He says ddil is considering plastic flowers for an area at their house that gets so much sun she keeps losing plants. We chatted about how different all my aunts' houses and gardens were. My aunt of the daily aprons was married to a nice fellow who simply didn't like plantings around houses and even after he passed, her brick home was always nude, though she kept a wide vegetable garden. Not a shrub, not a bush near the house. Interesting. I wonder if he was trying to keep away varmints.
A pleasant thing about living a century - your great-nephews remember you well enough to chat about how they knew your life and home. Random thought.
LadyM, I think you told us about your artificial flowers before and I didn't hold it in my brain!
Nice you got out and had a little shopping fun, Cathy.
I have eaten small meals through the day without trouble. Have done more walking.
We will be up relatively early tomorrow because I have to go to the appt for the injection. Lots of rain. While we are gone, the workmen will be here, but under the house so I guess they won't care too much about rain.

My dsis checked in safe she's in the south.
The wind is howling and it's clouded up.
Rain in the forecast tomorrow.
I think it's spring break all the four wheelers I have seen.

I can't sleep. I came in to see if LucyLee had posted. Also wondering how the weather is for Kathryn. We had one heck of a downpour within the past hour, but no ice storm here. At least not yet. Some parts of the province are under a state of emergency but they aren't near Kathryn or myself.

Re: New Adventures Sunday PWYC
Oh, Cathy -- I'm so sorry I missed you -- I am just getting here and it's about 10:30 CST.
Dmom is doing okay -- I talked to her via ddil's speaker phone this afternoon, and I know she talked to dbro today also. She is thinking she may get to come home tomorrow, but personally, I think she needs a little more time to let PT judge her strength. And she is going to have oxygen at home for the first time. She has had a nebulizer for breathing treatments, but has never been told to use oxygen before. I wonder how this is going to turn out.
AND... bunion surgery is going to be off the calendar for awhile. Maybe the Lord is trying to tell her to put it off permanently? I'm really just -- is "bummed" the word I'm looking for? I was sooo relieved that the respite room was ready at the assisted living facility she liked, and everything was going so well... and then this. But OTOH, maybe she shouldn't have the surgery at all. If God wants her to have it, He will open doors for recovery again, right?
I'm just really nervous about her being home alone, yet I do NOT want to start spending my nights with her. My anxiety is such that I just need to be in my own home and have a little time to myself.
This weekend has been stressful, beyond dmom's condition.
Dgrands were both here Friday night -- this is hectic, and they have their moments of loud arguments, etc, but it is really not "stressful" to have them here, because they do so much to brighten my mood and get my mind off myself. BUT -- the three of us went to see dmom yesterday morning, then home, then to wedding reception/party for dbil and my new dsisil. For some reason, I just felt really edgy about that... but of course it all went well, and we had a nice time.
Today, ddil visited dmom when she (ddil) got off work -- I had both dgrands last night and got them to church. DGS is having stomach issues again; he's been throwing up all day. That was stressful... but he stayed hereW alone while I went to funeral for dh's cousin's wife. We did not want to ask him to babysit, especially in his stomach distress, so I took DGD to the other grandparents' house and went to get her after the funeral.
People expect funerals to be very difficult for me, but I told dsisil, it sounds crazy, but the funeral of a Christian is somehow comforting to me, and it has not bothered me to attend any of these quite a few that have come up in the past 11 months and 2 weeks.
Yes... in two weeks it will be one year since dh passed. This approaching anniversary IS difficult for me. I just can't believe I've been here alone in this house, on my own, for a YEAR.
Anyway, after the funeral, we ate supper, watched basketball (War Eagle!) and I finally finished my E-library book, with 30 minutes to spare (before it was automatically returned.)
We do have a possibility of severe weather developing here overnight, but I think I could sleep through it if not for my own stomach issues.
I don't think my issues are related to dgs'. He has chronic acid reflux.
I have chronic diarrhea, and -- gosh, this is TMI -- but I 'feel like' I am having bowel leakage often times, especially after I've been up doing something or just on my feet for a while. It has not reached the point that I am staining my clothes, but it feels like that is about to happen. DDIL thinks I should see a gastrologist, and I guess I should, but the one I want to see is 40 miles away, and with dmom in this current situation, plus just getting past the uterine scare, I just can't face getting involved with another specialist right now. Sigh.
Tomorrow, I will visit dmom, and I will cancel the pre-registration appointment, and the surgery, and the assisted living...
and MAYBE, I will get home in time to go to dgs' first ballgame for this season, provided he feels like playing.
So I've been out of pocket all weekend, and I have the newspapers for the last three days piled up on the coffee table. I'm behind on my devotional reading, and things are kinda piling up around here. Maybe someday things will calm down a little bit.
Hope you all have a good week ahead.
