Morning all. I love peonies. Such bolt flowers. Roses are really pretty too. I wonder what is going to happen with my rose bush? It is kinda in the edge of the lawn and grass just growsvwild in it. Dh mowed it to the ground last year as it was really unruly. It was growing back again. I should move it and give it some soil that can be weeded out.

I also could go out soon and spray some weeds and grass by the house and take some dirt from the garden to actually make a permanent flowerbed by the house. I have so much unfinished outside it's not inspiring at all.

But first thing first. Finish the painting. Dh keeps emphasizing focus on one thing at a time. He's right. I have half a can of ceiling paint yet. Could fis my hallway ceiling... no... Finish the bedroom first. Now I'm thinking outside... but if I don't start doing those things soon I will miss the outside start time.

I still am a little unsure yet about how much parent care summer will bring. I deliberately didn't call dad cause he would call me if he needed something. And if he didn't it would be a just come out anyway. I needed a break. But I should call him before work and check on them. Should be getting more independent now.

Casper must have given me more workout than I realized. I still feel a bit like I ran a marathon. I honestly could go paint but then I have to do freight again. My friend said she'd come Wednesday afternoon. I might be able to do a coat of something before that. But it all depends on how tired I am.

Back to school after spring break too. Ds is ready to have something to do again. I should get in the shower. Probably work at 9 after dropping him off. I have lots of time to do a thorough morning routine and actually complete a few things before work.

Today's tada list

Finish qt
Shower
S&s both baths and start a load
Take garbage out from everywhere so dh can take it
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way Declutter island again
Sweep everywhere
Finish getting ready for work
School run and off to work

Happy Monday Fun and Games.

I am a great believer in interesting postal stamps rather than long rolls of sameness. (smile) The absolutely beautiful Peace Rose stamp released here in U.S., at ceremony at The Gardens of the American Rose in Louisiana, in the late teens (2018?) was one of the most enjoyable I think I ever used. And absolutely worthy of the portrait/honor.

Thank you - I did not know the chancy history of getting the cuttings to other countries.

oh dear, I wrote this last night but never hit post. so I'll make it a post for today. Soon heading to chruch or Monday morning Bible study

lucylee, if you like your house the way you decorated it in the 1980s, there is no need to change it.
I wish I could figure out how to organize my house so I would have places to put things away.....
kittykatt, the meeting went well. I had written out what I wanted to say, and was given positive comments that I did a good job. What I said was well received. The vote did not go the way I wanted, but it was said to be a preliminary vote, to authorize further study regarding selling some land. Not a vote to sell the land. I had hoped we would have just said, stop the study. Stop the exploration. It's a waste of time. But they broadened the concept to include, what else can we do with the land other than sell it or mow it. (we have a bout 2 acres of undeveloped land. Just grass and about 20 spruce trees. That sits on the "other" side of the parking lot. So to discuss what can we do without selling the land, to make it other than just grass that needs to be mowed was apparently the direction people voted.

I took mother home from the hospital today - home=back to nursing home. She is not happy to go back there, she wanted to go to her house. Sorry, I can't take care of you there Mom. But she is so delusional that she thinks she can take care of herself.
I did get my dw loaded this morning before church, so it needs to be emptied. And maybe I can find places for 10-15 items cluttering my DR table.
Then go to bed early, as I could use some sleep.

Finally home, yay! Spent all day at work on the ICT reporting. I cracked a bit of the code and I have a meeting planned for tomorrow with the head of IT and head of finance to make final decisions on some of the tables to fill in. Still scared *** about it, but I think I can, I think I can, I think I can! :-)

lauralind, I think it's wise to NOT call your parents volunteering help if they don't ask for help! I mean, they do tend to ask whenever they need it, so it's not like they would feel they shouldn't bother you!
helia, the move is really getting close, isn't it? Re drawes in beds, the twins have similar beds - pull out to queen size and drawers. Big enough to store their stash of stuffed animals, blankets and some sports equipment.
kittykatt, I'd LOVE some peonies, but I haven't figured where to put them.
L.Ann, well A/C isn't that common (or wasn't for private residences till lately), so we have to find some eco-friendly ways to keep cool :-)
harriet, I think I've read it somewhere about the cuttings, but yes, it's another tidbit of information learned from a weekly topic!
gma, glad to hear your mom is well enough to not have to be in hospital!

Sorry about the vote, Gma, but it sounds like nothing is set in stone yet. The property sounds very pretty!

helia, but by Christmas you will have risen too! :-)

DBD is in the middle of some elaborate play that covers half of the floor in her (rather small, I give that) room and begged that I would not vacuum there today. It's OK, I can do master bedroom instead to keep the load manageable for tomorrow :-)

helia, I divided the house in 5 zones (the three kids' room; master bedroom and master bathroom; kitchen; living room; office, hallways and powder room) and do one zone on each workday. And since multiple zones have carpets, I vacuum on more than one day. Plus there's running the roomba downstairs, which does not happen as often as it should :-(
hi Peaches!

I'm really hoping to get some reading time tonight, but I also should get started on my taxes (due April 30). Can I make myself or is it a lost cause?
