Palm Sunday/Passover PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Passover started last night for us, although we don't "keep" Passover by leaving off the grain products throughout. And today is Palm Sunday with the Holy Week coming up and Easter next Sunday.

Enjoy your day! It's gorgeous spring weather here!

Ds is here to do his tax return. He brings his own laptop and does it with us available for questions. I might use the time to review our own return but OTOH it may not be conducive to quiet focus. I think we're going to the river later with dfriends, and it turns out that dh isn't bowling on Sunday nights anymore.

We were with friends last night for the first night seder of Passover. Always love being with these friends for the seder, so much history together. We got home late for us - about 10:30 and I went straight to bed in spite of a nap yesterday too. I think being in social occasions requires more rest and down time for me, yesterday we had both the arts festival and the seder.

Oops, we're into ds's tax return now. I need to focus.

hello!!!!

I hope to be back
have a wonderful day!!!

mom is lost in getting dressed again - I wish there was some way to stop her from getting sidetracked -oh my gosh I just realized she has become me!

dh and I spoke about mom - I am going to talk to dd older and brother - I want to change the front room into her bedroom while we decide the future of the back room (which the design doesn't look good). I will ask if I can move her bedroom furniture into the front room. I really think that is the answer.

Blessed my dad and stepmom made a room on the main floor for my stepmother's mom. It wasn't a huge room, but enough room for a bed and the main floor powder room happened to be close by. It's a good alternative when someone needs to be on the main floor of a house.

Dh and I went grocery shopping early. Very few tourists in Niagara Falls this morning. It's a gorgeous sunny day here with no wind. I knew it would be March or April before I got the Christmas lights down, but that happened this morning as well.

Today I need to do the litter boxes and bathroom garbage.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.

Good day!

(((Blessed)))) you are doing hard things. I'm sure you already knew that fact but I am just acknowledging the 24/7 care required to take care of your DMom and DH. I hope you keep posting about your life, struggles and successes.

I had another night of missed sleep because of teen interaction. DS16 and GF decided when they got back here around 11pm that they would clean his bedroom and bathroom. They were excited to share the rooms transformation from embarrassment to triumph. They were so proud of themselves and kept wanting me to come look at the progress. I think it was wonderful accomplishment. They talked about keeping it that way which is the lifeskill that I want the teens to embrace and implement. I wasn't thrilled about the middle of the night timing but am happy that they are excited about their effort and plans.

Coming inside to sit in a/c with a glass of tea in front of a fan. I have been in the garden and it is HOT outside. Once my body gets used to it, then it won't bother me. It is predicted to bust 100F today a few miles from us for the first time this year. We are "only" going to be 99F where I live. I find this heat especially interesting because last Sunday we had snow on the ground and freezing temps. I suspect if you enjoy changeable weather then Oklahoma would be a place that will suit you just fine. Some say Freezing at Breakfast, 100F at lunch and tornadoes at dinner. They aren't entirely wrong.....

I might need some intervention. On a fluke, I set up a 50ish gallon antique metal hog watering tank in the garden and added goldfish. I did no planning, didn't ask anyone if it was a good/bad idea, I have minimum knowledge and just used what I had on hand. After a couple of days of watching the goldfish, I am enjoying them so much that I've decided more would be better. Now i am thinking about creating 3 more goldfish tanks using antique metal wash tubs that my grandparents used to do laundry. Hum....I wonder what Grandma Lillian would say about putting goldfish in her laundry tub?

:D :D :D to all of you!

it took mom a total of two hours for s2s and brushing hair and teeth. She talks fine but got lost in what she was doing over and over. Her new pants were too tight and I am thinking that the drs. cutting the furosemide from three days a week to whenever her ankles are swollen is letting her retain water.

I gave her a broom and asked if she would mind sweeping the floor - the stinker smiled and said "do I "HAVE" to? I told her she didn't and she is slowly sweeping and then focusing on other things. At least she is moving around.

spoke to my brother and he agreed to move over mom's cabinets and decorations from her house and temporarily put it in the front room (moving the other stuff out). He will come here after easter and his friend and he will help me move things out and in. I want to make it just like her bedroom. He thinks its a good idea - I want to take the one chair out of the front room and put it upstairs for dh - I am going to start shopping fb marketplace to set up his bedroom like an apartment - it's big enough.

I still have to get the cameras for the house.

hello d lady - a glass of tea in front of a fan sounds lovely! wow you are hot already! is it a dry heat? is it like the dessert where it can get to freezing and scorching during the day?
The energy young people have at all hours! during the day is better but yahoo on cleaning his room.

my dh's grandmother was Lillian as well. beautiful name.

d cathy - we are thinking the same but the architects drawing was not at all good. I wish I could show you. it left a big well where water would be a problem and our kitchen windows would look out to the building. a big empty square
glad you had a lovely morning

d Nancy oh I am so sorry you have a cold!!!! feel better

d twins hello

It's cold here. My daughter is in a school dance group and they performed at a luncheon after church this morning. Now I'm full of really good food and need a nap. I try to take a brisk walk everyday but today I'm just going to rest.
