* * * Good Morning! * * *
Good morning kittykatt, thanks for the start. Happy Easter! I hope you have a good Easter time at church.
Waving to all, glad to read helian's DM is settling in her new home with caring staff.
Grey morning but no rain so far : it's a relief because the "Easter bells" hae brought chocolate eggs in the garden. The grass is wet (and a bit high), full of slugs and snails, I hope they don't attack the chocolate before the kids are up and start egg-hunting.
Probably next year we can schedule the Easter egg hunt better and tell them "you just wait while we put the eggs, then we get started". But DS6 still believes in the "bells" or something (he's not sure), so right now we have to hide the eggs while he sleeps.
Yesterday's family movie was Gremlins, and both DSs enjoyed it. Family-friendly websites said the movie is ok for kids aged 12 and older, but even DS6 had to laugh at the ugly creatures. It should be noted somewhere that at some point in the movie the young woman tells the truth about Santa.

Happy Easter, to all who celebrate.
Thank you for starting us off, kittykatt. Have a wonderful Easter celebration.
Wishing you a slug-free easter egg hunt, FrenchFly.
I have hung all of the laundry and am enjoying a snack of broccoli and cheese before I head to bed.
See you later!

Re: Easter Sunday
Good night, Dogged, you're really responsible having such a healthy snack!
Frenchie, yikes about Gremlins revealing the big secret! Do your kids still believe in Santa? In our family, DBD really believes and the older ones I think don't, but you can't really ask "hey, do you still believe in Santa or do you know it's just a scam by the parents?"
kittykatt, how was church?
I am home from the mass. It was lovely!
We didn't finish with the carpet yesterday - we maneuvered it inside (a rather daunting tasks since we couldn't really move out the bed and the carpet is slightly bigger than the room and needs to be cut in place), but then the pizza delivery was here and we opted to just sit down with pizza, wine and a marathon og Agatha All Along on Disney
So that's on the list for today and then of course get everything back and it needs to be done by 5pm or else the kids will have nowhere to sleep!
But DH needs to do the cutting and taping of the carpet before things can be moved back, so it's his job now.

Re: Easter Sunday
Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
Kitty, He is risen indeed! Do you have a special meal today?
Are Easter bells like fairies, FFB? I hope your boys found the chocolates before the slugs did!
Trissie, I see you're making your famous lamb cake. Good luck to your dh laying the carpet. You are real DIY-ers!
My daughters are also DIY-ers. They are installing fencing around a part of their driveway so they can just open the door and let Fable out rather than walking her to the backyard gate. Friday, they installed metal posts and screwed the supporting plates into the concrete driveway. I don't know if they had to make holes in the concrete beforehand or how they did it, but they used a special machine. Dd26 also dug narrow holes 2 feet deep in the ground for poles for the side of the fence. She also put together the gate.
Other good news: Dd29 has been accepted into graduate school, specifically the Big U's social work program. It is one of the top programs in the country, ranked #1 by one common ranking org. I think her plan is to defer a year -- though I don't totally understand why.

Re: Easter Sunday
Sleep well, Dogged !
trissie good luck with the cleaning and putting-things-back, I hope it's all finished in time. As for the Big Secret, DS9 knows the truth, and DS6 suspects it - he is in a classroom with 1st grades like him and 3rd graders, so there was a lot of debate aournd Christmas about The Question, DS6 asked me, and I of course aked back "what do you think?" and "what would you prefer, Santa or the other explanation?" and of course we agreed that it was nicer to believe in Santa. He wasn't upset during the movie yesterday, and a few instants later asked that we pause the movie to watch outside if there were any Easter bells flying in the sky
helia yes the Easter bells are the legendary / mystery / fairy beings who bring chocolate in the gardens, for the kids to search, on Easter morning. In some countries it's supposed to be a bunny or rabbit. In France it's the bells, originating from the church bells that wouldn't be allowed to ring from Good Thursday until Easter - the bells were supposed to fly away from all the church towers in every village, all the way to Rome, and then back again during Easter night, carrying eggs or other treats.
Your DDs seem to be very accomplished women. I don't think I'd be able to install a fence around a garden, let alone with a concrete driveway.
We harvested 1,5 kg of chocolate. And a dozen tiny slugs (as small as a grain of rice), but we put them back in the garden ! It's milk chocolate so that means less caffeine but more sugar than dark chocolate. They ate some for breakfast and now we will only allow them a few eggs at a time, after a meal or with a snack.
It reminds me I need to get rid of old Halloween treats.
The plan is to leave for a walk on the seaside around 3pm (in 25minutes) - it is drizzly but we need to get outdoors - then back for a quiet evening, probably another family movie because tomorrow is a day off.
TADAs
a lol in
played with the kids, we build tow towers with Kapla then made a video of their collapsing
Made white fish parmentier and salad
lol on the drying rack
lunch cleanup
coffee with some chocolate eggs
TODO
prepare backpack for a walk on the sea side
enjoy fresh air
easy dinner and family movie
