Thursday Thinking of the Animals PWYC

Post by Harriet »

In U.S., it is National Help Animals Day
Supporting vulnerable creatures, lending a hand to those in need, creating a haven for the voiceless and defenseless.

We may have an animal in our house or have them close by as neighbors. We may have grandpets, or simply be appreciative of the scurrying we see from our windows.

Many ways to consider helping the ones in need, or support future humane treatment.

And here's Harriet!

I had posted with Thinking Thursday just after she did. Here's my post and thoughts for the day:

Today we're thinking through our routines, tasks, goals, coming days and months, and our lives, lol. Thinking through where ever our minds might take us.

And this week and in coming weeks thinking of Harriet, who started us today. She has a week full of appointments, infusions, and whatever else they have planned for her. On Sunday, she's admitted for planned hospital stay to be reunited with her infused and highly improved cells back from their boot camp in Boston, and she will be hospitalized for several days, perhaps a week. Details are in this month's Joys and Concerns, page one.

So lots of thinking going on here, of others, of Harriet, of our own lives, and our animals too.

Dcleaning lady will be here soon and I'm running behind. I haven't even put our sheets in the washer yet, ddog is still "in bed," lol.

I guess Cathy's "Try Something Different" was on my mind when I contemplated a start for today's topic. Really didn't think I'd have time or the oomph to start, so just posted in yesterday's, but we are getting ready early enough today to have a calmer start to the day.

Thanks for OBE definition Overcome By Events, LadyM.

I have not laughed a lot these last few days but this one from Twins' got me :

I think OBE is a thing here almost every time dh walks in and starts talking...

HRH heard me laughing from another room and called out to ask me if I was alright.

Tuesday was tough. Ddolder was with me and was a good choice. While Monday procedure with ds did not require as much undressing and dressing, it was quite different with her and so it was good to have a daughter to help. She was at least an hour later getting back to her children than we thought, though, because they took longer than we thought with recovery.

HRH was okay yesterday and did not call on dsonil as we had considered. If HRH fades a bit today or tomorrow, dsonil can leave work early and come to take me home, on these last two procedure-a-day days.

HRH was flipping channels as we got started yesterday (he told nurse the tv in the room is his only escape, quite true) and there was the first scene of Princess Bride showing Peter Falk. He graciously put up with one of my favorite movies (smile) and then Star Wars came on to relieve him.

He got Mexican takeout for us and I did eat a pretty good meal.

Off to the races, leaving our little animal behind in disapproval.

Twins… thanks for reminding us of Harriet’s upcoming week.

I received my nasal scan results yesterday. Sever nasal infection … like I didn’t know that already and my nodules are also infected and very swollen

Put on massive prednisone 40 mg a day 10 is normal and also antibiotics for the next three weeks. Hello pumpkin face! Then I go back in three weeks and if it hasn’t fixed the situation, I get to put on a new medication that is supposed to shrink everything.

Is it any wonder I’ve been feeling so bad.

Laundry day here and that’s the only thing I’m going to do. Otherwise it’s back to bed again … ugh!

Harriet… just read your update. So glad you have family to rely on. Feel better my dear and warrior on. These days may be difficult but you’ve got this!

Hugs and prayers for you as well as HRH. Having a husband whose health may not be the best is difficult at times especially when you need him. Not easy for him as well… ask me how I know ❤️

How did I know this would happen... the guy that changes the mower deck and snow blower deck called this morning, said he could squeeze us in today and now dh has loaded everything and he's taking it over to the really tiny town to the east of us. Dh had such a hard time loading the stuff. First he said he didn't need my help, then I heard yelling and swearing on the driveway, so I went out and stood nearby. I'm going to ask the doctor for something for dh's instant rage. I can't stand it any more. Between yesterday and today and a whole lot of anger and attitude on Tuesday afternoon, that's enough.

I got all the compost, garbage and recycling out to the road this morning. Dh asked if I needed help. He wasn't even dressed yet. I said no. By the time I got back inside it had started to rain. The rain didn't last long. The cats all went out when I went out and the rain had all 3 of them running back in as soon as I opened the door.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

I don't think I can see your j and c board yet unless I am mine something. Maybe I need to be here for a certain time?

I think i did what you thought of thinking Thursday yesterday. Posted in most of the threads thinking through all my projects and priorities.

Main thing today is my phone appointment with the nurse practitioner. Getting results from all my lab work etc. Hopefully I can remember everything I wanted again.

((((Harriet)))) Gentle Hugs as you get through this phase of treatment. You are in my thoughts several times a day.

RR - Oh WOW! Glad they found the problem and are serious about getting it taken care of. (((Gentle Hugs))) for you too.

DS16 is still sick. Last night he declared that he would return to normal doings today but this morning he quickly found out that his body wasn't in agreement with that plan. He has been in bed for 36 hours. This is the kid that typically bounces off the wall if you want him to be still for 10 minutes. His lack of activity is very telling in how bad he feels.
I am thankful that DH and I seem to be immune to whatever virus/bug/flu that DD13 and DS16 are experiencing over the past 7 days. I hope I am not speaking too soon, but DH and I are not having any of their symptoms.

TA-DA's -
** Personal care (including washing hair), exercises and walk accomplished
** DD13 delivered to public school
** Homeschool lessons updated. I am shuffling assignments around since DS16 is sick.
** Kitchen doings for the day happened.
** Garden and fish checked and cared for
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Dcleaning lady is doing her magic.

Lauralind, I've not been paying attention, I need to upgrade you to "Member" status but need to remember how to do it...you'll be able to see some additional members only forums then.
