Are you managing Monday or is it managing you? Exert that executive function, put on the manager hat, and manage the day! I'll be unpacking and putting the house back together after the explosion that was getting home yesterday, but I want to carve out my own time too.
What are the challenges of Monday that you're managing? Work? Family? Home school? Hospitalization and recovery? We're all in different places, yet together as a village.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Good morning
Twins - It is great to see you return. Thanks for starting us today.
I have end of school anticipation. Only 11 more school days! Today is the last day of the state tests in DD13's public school. Because of the flooding last week, they moved one of those state testing days to today. DD13 is in the 8th grade so this is the LAST YEAR of state test for her. During high school, our public school does CCRA/ACT/SAT type test starting in the 11th grade.
Beside school & state testing, we have 2 appointments today. Micro (5lb yorkie) has a groomer appt at 10am which requires over an hour of driving. After school we will immediately leave for DD13 4:30 appointment with her counselor.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Welcome home Twins' Mom! Thank you for opening the village this morning!
I think I "managed" most of my house yesterday.
A few years ago (pre 2020 AKA before dh lost his job and started working from home) I had another cross stitcher tell me how she carved out her day to ensure she stitched every day, other than Thursdays. (We had a Thursday morning group from 10:30 to 12:30 at the time) She scheduled a daily block of time from 9 until noon where she put on music and stitched for 3 hours. Her husband knew that he wasn't to interrupt unless the house was on fire. I did that a few mornings a week when I had the house to myself. Doing it these days is a lot harder. Dh wants to sit for coffee and tea every morning. He gets into the kitchen and starts to make something to eat, but never at a scheduled time. "Do you want eggs? "Do you want some toast?" He has a hearing problem, so I need to get up and come into the the room where he is every time he asks a question. I get to the point sometimes where I will look him in the face and ask if he has any more questions before I go back to what I'm doing. He almost always asks me something when he is in the bathroom doing his meds after supper. Of course, that means going into the bathroom to respond. I have told him numerous times that he could step back to the doorway of where I am to ask, but he forgets. Having him at home 24/7 has taken away a lot of "my time" and it does get frustrating from time to time. I have to bite my tongue sometimes because I know I am lucky we are together at this point in our lives and (according to both of his doctors) he shouldn't still be here. Now is the time to get that block of time to yourself so you can make it a daily habit, so you can do it automatically once he retires. That way you can inform him that you have this time and you've been doing this "for quite a while" so he gets to learn that you aren't available every minute of the day to entertain him/go wherever at the drop of a hat, etc.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Cathy and Mystery, thank you for encouragement about carving out time for myself. I've been thinking on the subject this a.m., and Cathy's comment is particularly helpful. The problem, as I see it, is other stuff on my calendar. So perhaps the BWP that P&P advocated with a day for everything is not doable. Today and Thursday I have workout, Wednesday I have body work and 30-45 min Zoom meeting. And dd is coming in for Mothers' Day on Thursday p.m. so will be here Friday - Monday a.m. (More in J&C about dd.) And much to my chagrin, dh informed me yesterday that he's done bowling on Tuesday p.m. until perhaps fall. And he's done on Sunday nights. So he will actually be underfoot more than even normal for coming period. I keep asking him if he's going to work "today" and he responds indignantly that he has "appointments." Of course, the two buying the biz are supposed to be running all the meetings now, and he's "just sitting in." So I do suspect it will be hard for him to give up the "going to the office habit."
I have a.m. routine underway, impeded of course, by Things We Brought In and Dropped Yesterday. Impeded also by my desire to catch up some online news and reading, and by my own ADHD.
Updating calendar. Can't do body work at 10 on Wed (appt with dh) and texted to reschedule Thurs or Friday a.m.
So I need a work session tomorrow, Tuesday. Placing five hours on the calendar for ME every Tuesday afternoon. And I added a work session every Wednesday afternoon, too, for a total of nine hours. And I need to look at another two or three hours perhaps on Friday?

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
bw2, thinking of you and your mom and dh. Hope all is smoothing out.
Instacart order done. I need to eat brunch and start my water...have been too distracted by all the stuff here. One load of laundry hung to dry, another with swimsuits and dark delicates scheduled for tomorrow, a load of other clothes in dryer now.
Later: all unpacked, including suitcase and toiletries and put away and things generally back together.
I'll leave for workout in about 15 min. After, will drop a package at the UPS store for return and go by the post office for HOA. When I get home, ddog will be ready to walk again, lol, and groceries should be here.
Wondering about Harriet today...hoping for going home news this week.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
Back from workout and it was wonderful. Lots of stretching, some cardio and upper body too. I like having more toned arms particularly. After I ran two quick errands - dropped off a return and went to P.O. for HOA. The instacart shopper dropped off my groceries at 2:40, way before window of 3 to 5 p.m., so groceries on the porch when I got home. I didn't have anything frozen tho, and temp is mid sixties so all was well. I need to remember to instruct them in future to not drop off early.
Walked ddog a lap when I got home, that took me to 9K steps, so I've been active today, even before workout.
Our supper is pork chops, corn on the cob and a green veggie, could be asparagus, green beans or a salad.
Remember other time commitments - how do I fit in HOA and temple cemetery accounting too? And decluttering here? And getting soil for raised beds, getting zinnia seeds in, and getting a couple of tomato plants in? Also dd here this weekend. I have HOA accounting/budget to do before a meeting next Monday p.m. and she will be here Fri-Sat-Sun.
Need to discuss backflow device for sprinkler w dh - still hasn't been fixed by lawn service....
I think we should pay someone to do it at this point and deduct it from our bill. The inspection for the neighborhood is supposed to start today but I haven't seen the dude around.
So much OMM today trying to get back into things here. And ddog wants me to go out and play too.

Re: Managing Monday PWYC
I think I'm managing Monday!
I slept late, but since I showered last night, I was able to get going a little better, and I d2s, including make-up, did part of my devotional reading, and got a load of laundry started.
Then -- went to town --
* post office
* bank to deposit dmom's rent check (lady mails it to me)
* my bank to get cash for dcousin's graduation
* drug store (where they said there were no refills on my meds, but doctor had been faxed in April) ?
* D*llar Tree, bought bday/etc cards needed through July!
* Wmart, bought groceries
* Called doctor to renew Rx and made appt for wellness check-up, which gets me a discount on insurance
I will soon have to take dgd to ball practice -- ddil not home from work in time, and her practice overlaps dgs' ballgames. He has a double-header tonight, so she and I will go to his games when she is finished.
Second load of laundry is in washer now. So far, these are things that can sit until I get to them -- towels, sheets, etc. I'll do the other laundry after ballgames, the things that have to get a quick tumble in dryer before being hung to dry,
AND &(^$%&&_*( JUST remembered -- I forgot to get anniversary card for a 50th anniversary card for party I'm invited to. SMH... I will not be going to the party, partly because I don't want to... and mostly because dcousin's graduation party is the same day. But weddings and anniversaries are just kinda high trigger occasions for me still at this point.
Thinking of Harriet and Blessed and praying things are going smoothly.
