House tasks: clean gutters and the swan neck on the downpipes where "stuff" tends to accumulate, clean cladding back and front and downpipes, and short return wall as well. Replace the bit of mortar that's fallen out of the edge of the roof (I think its called the verge?) , fix dripping kitchen tap ( new washer?), sort out cabinet that wobbles, fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. More as I think of them? Texted 10/3 and 14/4
If no reply by the end of the month, then definitely look for someone else (DF PM is also starting to become exasperated with his reluctance)
Steps to take to find a replacement: ask friends, look on local sources eg Nextdoor for recommendations
I may have to split the jobs between different people this year if I can't find someone who's good at a variety of skills, so:
For gutter cleaning, Dneighbours R and A used Ben's gutters -are they pleased with the work? Chatted to R yesterday -yes they are pleased, also said that BG seem to be here a lot on our neighbourhood
Does BG also clean cladding? Do they have a website? Yes to both
Also The E Gutter Cleaners -they have good reviews

Hi all. We are back from Germane's vet appointment and we could both use a rest. It was quite the wrestling match as the vet got the area around her eyes cut away and cleaned up, and stain put in her eyes. But things look good. I have drops to try to put in her eyes, medicated pads to use on her undercarriage, probiotics and food.
The bed feels dry to me now, so I think that when I get the laundry done I will be okey to flip the mattress and make the bed.
And I had a psychic vision of the future and realized that I am going to have a migraine tomorrow and call in sick. That did wonders for my attitude. If this sounds dreadful, I used to have the work ethic, but it really does not pay nowadays, at least not in North America, and my work is not important. People can wait a few extra minutes to complain that their internet is slow.

That is true, trissie. We keep putting one foot in front of the other and it's amazing how much we can get done.

kittykatt, our big May holiday is Victoria Day. That weekend is when the gardens go in, because we can usually count on frost-free nights from that point forward. Our Labour Day is in September. I have no idea why we picked a different month.

Well, one never knows what a day will throw at them. I'm currently sitting in an ER room. Mom slid out of her wheelchair twice this morning, and the nurse felt like it would be a good idea to get her checked out at the ER. Fortunately, R is on service today and he got her an ER room quickly. He also stopped by and checked on her. I got here about 20 minutes ago.

They've taken blood, done an EKG, and now they're going to do a catscan bc Mom won't verbalize if anything hurts or not -- so they want to take a look.

The good news is that they're checking for a UTI, so that info will be obtained quickly. Still haven't heard back from the NH Dr.

I think my plans for after payroll are going to be thrown out, except for visiting Mom. That is happening. As I type.

Trissie, I read your post about the Michigan salad last night, and it made me crave salad! Today I had to buy groceries, so I bought one of those Wmart pre-made salads. This one had turkey and bacon bits (and egg, but I didn't eat the egg). I added a tangerine and some chopped pecans, and it was sooo good! Not exactly what you described but definitely inspired by your post! Thanks!
