I had wanted to be able to go from the KS2J get together straight to a coffee shop to work with dh, but I don't think that will happen. I'll go straight to the grocery store after the get together, and then I'll go to a coffee shop.

trissie, I hear you. I think we got fewer dinner invitations when our kids were small -- and all the ones we did get were from other families with children, which made them rather noisy active affairs. I hope you enjoyed your book chapter!

I still need to walk a mile but I figured I would catch up here first. Hi Bama and GMA. We are slated to get a bunch of rain…. All day today and then I guess we will see if they are right about the rest of the week. I have a rectangular bed by the house Trissie where I plant annuals. Everywhere else has perennials. I plant impatiens, Gerber daisies, zinnia and marigolds there. They all grow well in that area and flower all summer. Once they take hold they will fill in the bed and be a mass of color. They are all super low maintenance which is a necessity since I have 5-10 minutes a day of gardening time.

L.Ann, that's about what I have time-wise too, but somehow I think I can have a vegetable garden, fruit trees/bushes, roses, windowsill boxes and a whole lot of other stuff!
helia, part of the problem here is that the usual dining seating is 4, sometimes 6 places. Dining rooms are not a thing here, and so there's a dining table in the kitchen or in the living room, and that's it. So you can't really invite a family of six, because that alone might be more than your apartment seats!

Helia, it’s good how you continue to make your plans work even when there’s a kink.

LAnn, of course we come first before a walk.

I need all of your gardening expertise to tell me where to put flowerbeds, plants, and trees. I plop them somewhere and then think of all the reasons that spot won’t work. For instance, I put my milkweed under the bird feeders not thinking the birds will eat the caterpillars. Now they have to be moved and they’re doing so good where they are. I put the hydrangea by the front porch thinking it will probably die anyway, now it blocks that whole side of the porch lol. But it IS gorgeous this year.

Every time I say something about my dining room, Little Bit tells me that I don’t have a dining room, Trissie! It is a table and dish storage in an area connected to the kitchen so more of an eat in kitchen.
