Good morning/ good afternoon, Trissie, FFB, Helian and Harriet!

FFB, I'm glad you were able to enjoy those hours on your own yesterday. You sound very organised, thinking about July already!

I'm glad the party was such a success, Trissie. The Red House Museum (formerly a workhouse!) at Christchurch in Dorset has displays for lots of archaeological items from the Stour area nearby. I think there are also some in the Dorset County museum at Dorchester.

Helian, yesterday sounded very good, but also very full! Enjoy the time with your friends. Ive heard of Zingerman's - I think it may have featured on an episode of Man V Food? (Adam Richman).

Harriet, thank you for letting us know about Verger 's DD.

Church was good this morning, and I was able to have a long chat with DF PM afterwards. No coffee with DF E this morning, as she has had guests this week and is, understandably, exhausted. Lunch today was roast duck (a Gary Rhodes recipe, where you score the skin in a V pattern to encourage the fat to come out, then rub in rock salt, spread wholegrain mustard over it and then pour over honey), roast potatoes,. gravy, tenderstem broccoli, carrots and peas, followed by profiteroles. I e also managed to put upy vitamins and supplements for the week, weigh in out the Girls' dried food and I've the caramel cupcakes.I made yesterday. And give the car a very quick polish with a microfibre cloth to get rid of the dirty marks from the overnight rain.

It's now turned very humid, so I'll do the garden this evening. In the meantime, I need to type DF E's latest contribution for the parish magazine.

Good morning, all. Thank you for the riparian start, Kittykatt. I don't know how many years it's been since I watched that episode of Keeping Up Appearances, and I have finally found a chance to use that word, LOL. And thank you for including the pronunciation. That was my first question.

trissie, it sounds like your party was a great success. I hope that the clean up goes well.

I got back just in time to wave good bye to helia, it seems. I hope that your camping trip is great.

(((Hugs to vergers wife and dfamily.)))

I had a wonderful time with my db. The first two days I could hardly walk, from the effort of packing, loading the car, the drive and then unloading the car at the other end. But my db is recovering from a bypass operation and my ddog is 17 years old, so we were all content to lie around and talk with each other. Especially as it rained pretty much non-stop until my last day there. The last day was splendid, and we ate our lunch in the back yard and enjoyed the sun and the forest. It was great to spend time with my db and his bff. My dnephew was able come over for dinner one night, so we got to spend time together too. I came home to rain and I wish that the rain and cool weather would just continue now that I'm home, but instead we have gone straight into severe heat and humidity warnings so I have to focus on getting the air conditioner set up, and hope that my joints hold up for that. No rest for the wicked!

Hooray for cooler weather, FrenchFly. Getting a break that is a true break is worth a lot.

I'm glad that church was good, Kittykatt. Your lunch sounds amazing.

Hi, Peaches.

Sunday
Water/food for dog
Put rice on to cook
Cleaned up after dog
Started clearing out behind air conditioner
Lay down for 15–feet up
Vacuumed under bed, behind air conditioner, under entertainment centre
Dusted the air conditioner and its filter
Took the grow light off of the air conditioner’s power cord and plugged the air conditioner back in
Turned on air conditioner fan: the fan works
Discarded Germane’s dog bed that is suspiciously wet, and the toys along with it
Washed the floor of Germane’s pen
Washed the rubber gloves
Ripped the old tape off of the patio door insert for the air conditioner. Added it to the garbage bag
This left my hands covered in adhesive
Washed my hands. Now I have clean adhesive stuck to my hands
Put on a pot of coffee

My heart goes out to vergerswife and family.

Today's river sounds beautiful,as it flows through the countryside.

I left Friday afternoon to go to my cabin. Attended lakeshore meeting on Saturday morning - learned a little, had good coffee, orange juice and caramel roll. Took one home for mother, who may or may not remember that she asked me to bring her one
DS and his family came for a couple hours - ddil vacuumed, washed a few clothes from the last time they were there. DS and dgs worked outside a couple hours, then all headed home, as they had colds/allergies, and heat index was well over 100. I stayed a little while longer, but as I had not brought much food, and I didn't konw what to do with myself I returned home - after spending a while at the dock with my feet in the water. I didn't want to take the time to change into my swimsuit and be in the water alone. And I was looking forward to being at MY church this morning, as I don't really konw anyone at the church we attend while at cabin.
One lady, who has chosen me for her friend, shared that today is anniversary of her husband's death last year, that she has had surgery for breast cancer, and a couple relatives have died in past 2 months. I hadn't caught up with her for a while, and tried to be a good listener.
After church, I stopped by dfBS to chek on her - her AC was not working. She had called earlier in the week, I guess, and was told they would come out July 15. I called the emergency number when I got to her house and saw her. I told the technician that I am her RN and she is in danger! (Sometimes it's nice to pull that card  ) They came right over and got it going, and said they would complete wahtever it was that needed doing probably tomorrow. It's hotter today than yesterday. We are under what the weather people are saying is "heat dome," dangerous for people with lung conditions and the elderly. She is both (I am only 1 of htose by definition, but I don't feel "elderly" )
Now I am going to head to visit mother soon, and bring her some root beer to add to ice cream over there and we'll have root beer floats. I'll take her outside for just a few minutes so she can soak up some heat. I'll tell her to soak it up and save it for later. But we won't stay out for long. She just doesn't like the cold of air conditioning.
Last night I had what seemed like a very long dream. We were in Washington DC, I had parked the car with her in it. It was hot, so I left the engine running, then I went to look for where I could get us something to eat, and I got lost. I couldn't find my way back to her, and I was so worried about her. Eventually I woke up, and don't think I ever found her in my dream. I was afraid for her. So it will be nice to see her today.

When I get back, I hope to tackle at least just one surface in my house.

Last CI for the day.

I'm glad you had a lovely time with your DBro, Dogged!

You're a very good friend, Gma. I'm so glad you were able to help your DF with her air conditioning. And good that you were able to attend your own church.

I've done a few little jobs this afternoon - finally registered the new hoover, typed DF E's article.for the parish magazine and emailed it to SR the editor, set up the latest new Waitrose delivery, and had a long chat with DF CW. I also managed some deadheading in my garden once it had cooled down. The last task before bed will be to make my list for the week.
