Re: Watercress Wednesday
Watercress is a leafy green aquatic plant with a peppery, slightly bitter taste, which varies according to the growing conditions, and is related to mustard and radish. It has small, round green leaves that grow on hollow stems, and is a popular addition to salads, soups, and other dishes. It pairs well with strongly flavored meats, eggs, and orange segments.
Watercress is known for its nutritional value, being a good source of vitamins and antioxidants. It's been linked to potential cancer-fighting properties due to the presence of compounds like DIM. Some research suggests that it may have other health benefits, such as improving exercise performance, but more research is needed.
Watercress thrives in shallow, clear, and flowing water. It can be found growing wild in many parts of the UK, but is also cultivated commercially. It's best harvested from April to October when it's at its seasonal peak.
You can also grow it in a container filled with water indoors to extend the season.
Watercress is known to be a sign of clean water, as it does not tolerate pollution.

Re: Watercress Wednesday
Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!
Helian, I hope you feel better soon. Sinus infections can be misery. I find drinking lots of water helps, along with ibuprofen, and the doctor prescribed a low dose steroid nasal spray. I don't take antibiotics unless it's *very* bad (joint decision between me and my GP). I hope you can get some sleep. I find an extra pillow sometimes helps me feel more comfortable (maybe it encourages things to drain?)
Gma, phone lines to companies can be soooo frustrating! I don't like water melon much, but hearing everyone rave about them, it's quite possible that I haven't ever had one that was properly grown and well ripened, and I would change my mind if I did!
Laura I'm sure you enjoyed DS's creation for supper!
I didn't do anything yesterday evening, except enjoy the meal DH cooked (sausages, baked beans and mashed potatoes) and sit with Matilda on my lap.
Today, DF PL is coming at 10 am and we're going for a walk (weather permitting!) and coffee. DH is seeing Dnextdoorneighbour C.at 2.30pm to help her set up her new laptop., and has his amateur dramatic society in the evening.

(((Helia))), I hope you’re feeling better.
It’s 3:26am and I’m still trying to get sleepy. I’ve somehow mixed up my days and nights. See ya when I get up and get moving. It’s trash day here so I will set a goal to declutter and fill the garbage cans up.
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

Re: Watercress Wednesday
Thanks all. I still have a low fever this morning 100.6. I think I'm going to have to call the Dr. I don't want to -- but I do want to participate fully in life. If the fever doesn't go down today, I'll need a sub for my class tomorrow. *sigh*
Hi blessed!
So nice to see you! I hope you are well.
Oh wow, Bama, that is a late night. Did you get some decluttering done?
I hope you enjoyed your walk with PL, Kitty. My Dr. seems pretty reticent to prescribe antibiotics in general.
I slept OK last night; ibuprofen helped and I kept my pillow slightly elevated to promote drainage. Covid test this morning is negative. I think it's a sinus infection - mild pain behind my eyes, forehead, and around my nose.
I'm not sure how I'll feel today, so I'll keep my todos short.
Next:
- call Dr. office
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
Later
- squeegee and wipe down shower
- bank errand
- Dr. visit??
- pay Mom's therapy bill
- send Mom's med bill to trustee to be reimbursed
- payroll: make midterm test
- payroll: prep IR D5
- if fever doesn't go away, let AC know -- I'll need a sub
- maybe - payroll: prep for sub
Possible activities if I feel up for it:
- go for a walk
- clean the fridge
- work on decluttering bin
TaDas!
- up; weighed self -- of course it is dropping; I have little appetite
- Covid test
- coffee
- email deletions + weather website - cloudy and cool! A great day to jog -- except I won't today.
WEEKLY ACTIVITIES

Re: Watercress Wednesday
Morning all. I think I have said it before... I don't like melatonin. It works. I feel like I'm in a fog now. Groggy and can't wake up. And it is only 1 mg.
I am off today. Need to wake up and feel a bit better. There's one more section of berries to pick. And I have got to get things done inside. Ds used up the milk so that means a grocery store trip. I'd like to make the living room look better. And I should start Declutter in the bedroom that is supposed to be my craft room .
Helian I hope you can break the fever soon. Terrible feeling.
Yikes Bama sometimes I am awake then trying to convince myself to sleep again.
Gonna wake up a bit more. A shower should help and then we'll see.

Re: Watercress Wednesday
Wow I have no motivation or energy today. I had my shower. Ate something. Put some laundry in the washer and empty the dw. That's it besides scrolling stuff. I can't find my glasses. I'll text dh and see if I left them at work. Can't see the fine print for my reading.
The sun is out now but it's still morning cool. I need to get something started. .
Add stuff to dw and declutter island
A couple things to wash and counters
Sweep everywhere
