Good afternoon!
It’s a rainy weekend and I’ve got the lazies. Trying to shake it off now.
Dogged, yep Wfd is what’s for dinner even though I call it supper, old habits are hard to break.
Kitty, thanks for your explanation. I’m as confused as ever lol. Would you be insulted if I said you were from Britain or England? Or do I just say UK?
I haven’t heard of Lucy in ages, good to hear she’s still around educating people.
Mmm apple season. I opened a jar of apple butter for my raisin toast the other day. Come on fall.
Holiday thread? I NEED that.
Also need to join the September habit thread and work on myself but it’s so hard to pick just one habit.
Posting for mojo, I need to visit friend and take her cake. I promised the other day but didn’t know the weather would be so yucky. We got the cake yesterday and can’t wait or it will be stale. I’d like to get dailies done so I can come home and chill afterward. You guys always get me moving. I’ve skimmed and answered in my head so hope that works for now. I’ll be back tomorrow with work clothes on hopefully 🤞.
Enjoy the rest of your day.

Do:
Dailies
Visit
Chill
♥ Wake each day expecting good things to happen! ♥

I have simplified birthdays by giving checks to the adults so they can buy what they want, Laura. It is hard to think of nice gifts that close to Christmas. The grandkids are going to get gift cards this year for their birthdays for our trip this summer. It will definitely simplify gift giving but I still have to help DD32 find something to give them all. DD32 and I are doing a weekend at a hotel for her birthday. It includes tickets to the ice sculpture exhibit. I am also hoping to get tickets to a specical Christmas Cirque de soleil exhibit that is nearby.

Hello, everyone!

FFB, that's a difficult decision to make. But if long term it would really benefit your family a d also make Mr NG happy, then it might be worth the stress for the next year. You're right about our house being small, and I know it's only one extra small shelf, but it all helps. :D

Trissie, thank you for the apple cooking suggestions. I did like those pretty patterned I door shoes. They look as though they would be easy to take on and off and support the feet.

Bama, I would be very happy if you said I was from Britain or England. (This is because I'm not from Wales or Scotland. It's just about ok to say to a Welsh or Scottish person that they come from Britain, but in many cases it would definitely *not* be ok to say they came from England! :o )

L.Ann, Lilo and Stitch is definitely preferable to Jaws!

Laura, last week when I was in town, I regret to say that some shops are selling both Halloween and Christmas stuff already.

Hi, Peaches!

This afternoon I cleaned, decluttered and out back two of the drawers underneath the bed, and hoovered down there. I had hoped to do all four drawers, but ran out of time. Still, I have e made a positive step, and have finally found a book restorer who may be able to do something with my grandmother's bible. She was presented with it at Sunday school. (Maybe as a prize?) The cover has come off and some of the inside needs a little attention, but it's not in too bad condition, especially as it's well over 190 years old . This company does quotes from photos, so I took some time to photograph it showing the good and bad aspects. Now, all I have to do is email them and wait for their quote to restore it. Of course it might be ridiculously expensive, but at least I'll know either way.

I've prepped lunch for tomorrow and made a coffee cake. DH's Brunswick stew turned out very well. I'm now digesting for a bit before I go to bed!

4:30 pm. Trying to get mojo for another push forward. Jogging is not going to happen today, so I think I'll take myself out for a walk, especially since I'm cleaning the oven (dh's initiation) and the house smells bad -- yes, windows are open and the fans are running.

That sounds like a fun weekend trip, L Ann! I like the idea of simplifying gift giving as much as possible.
Bama, that's kind of you to bring your friend a cake.
Hi Peaches.
Plum and apple baked tea, trissie? I've never heard of that and am intrigued.
FFB, the certificate program sounds helpful in the long run but maybe a hard year getting there. I hope your dh gets in so you at least have a choice.
Lauralind, I've never grown potatoes! It sounds neat to grow and harvest your own. You must have a large storage room or something.
Kitty, I'm so glad Matilda is keeping you safe from that rug. LOL!

I got home around 2:15, unloaded the car, and fixed lunch. That had me eating around 2:40 pm. At least I won't need an afternoon snack! I texted my dbro that I don't think Mom is doing that well. She is starting to have trouble swallowing - she can swallow but sometimes it's hard for her to swallow food, even her pureed/ soft food. And she's starting to refuse to eat the pureed food they offer her. She ate 2/3 of a yogurt cup for lunch. I fed it to her. I also had some mashed potatoes for her, but she wasn't interested. Dbro is coming next weekend; I think our trip is cancelled so we might be able to host him.

Next:
- boil egg
- morning med
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- some qt?

Later:
- make bed
(clean sheets on bed??)
- dress to jog
- JOG
- payroll: work on IR Exam
- writing time?
- dinner from freezer: mole' chicken, rice, salad
- evening med
- after dinner clean up
- duolingo
- update health apps

TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a little up from yesterday
- coffee
- dw running; didn't run it last night
- email deletions + weather website
- boiled eggs - 1 for dh too
- morning med
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- gathered groc. list + Mom visit stuff
- PT bill in the mail
- 10 - 11:45 coffee with AA
- Kroger
- visited Mom; stayed until almost 2 and fed her lunch - not that she ate very much
- home; groceries put away (nothing perishable)
- lunch
- restarted the oven on clean with stove grates in (no rubber pads)
- ordered button down shirts for myself + top for Mom
- texts with dbro over Mom + visit

Helian this year is fine. Dad has a big root cellar cold storage. Built into the side of the bank. Next year when he sells and if I actually do plant here will be a different story. Have to think about that.

My house needs finishing too. I need to mop the cat room and vacuum. Then it will look much better in here. But I sidetracked and went grocery shopping first. Now I need food and I think coffee. Then keep going...

Priority list

Basic routines
Fix my exploding kitchen
Laundry
Vacuum
Potatoes
Find my round up jug and spray some thistle
Weed my own garden
See the kids at some point

Today's tada list

Lunch and coffee to wake up
Fold laundry
Mop cat room mess
Vacuum everywhere

Switch laundry
Tidy laundry room expecting ds26 to bring some
Clean cat boxes and take garbage out from everywhere
Sweep everywhere

Shower
S&s both baths and find rest of laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Wash a couple things

Hello, all. I'm sorry about yesterday; I just faded away as I sometimes do. I'm having one of those days where everything hurts, so not terribly productive. I've got a simple supper going in the toaster oven and microwave.

Germane was very confused when she woke up today. She couldn't find me, even when she was standing right in front of me and I was talking to her. She wandered off and checked if I was in bed, and then she looked for me in her pen. I eventually got her settled when I waved her plate with wet food under her nose.

Kittykatt, thank you for starting us off. Doesn't it feel odd to turn the heat on after such a hot summer? But we have had the same change. I'm thinking of putting a comforter back on the bed. We don't get our heat turned on until Oct. 1st. The heat will be back before then, of course.
I love that ancient people looked at a rock formation and said "That must have been done by unmarried women. Married women don't have time to do that while they're cooking and cleaning for their families. The men are already being fed and cleaned up after by the women and we don't see the men doing anything that impressive. Must be spinsters."

WTG on getting your house back into shape, trissie. It's a busy time of year for you, at harvest time. (Speaking of busy women, LOL.)

L.Ann, I'm with you at being shocked about its being time for holiday preparation, but somehow more shocked at Kittykatt bringing out the SADD light. NOOOOoooooo, don't leave us sunshine.

Thank you, helian. I'm glad that crafting day was successful and that the dogs had fun with each other, without becoming part of the craft.

Your yard sounds like it will be lovely, Lauralind.

FrenchFly, would your DH like working in those environments better? A big decision, either way. Nice that your boss is in a good mood.

Hi, Peaches.

I'll be happy to work with you tomorrow, Bama.
