Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
WAving to yall...
Went to class, then to coffee. Received an second email from HOA compliance stating that we had a dirty roof...yes thats a thing here...but never received the first one.
After coffee, I went to the office to talk to the fellow letting him know about it. He's new and said it should have been sent by the old guy. Anyway I spent time calling the roof cleaners and then sending the new compliance guy the information.
Needed to pay my bills and spent time on my computer doing so. Also cancelled several memberships I had forgotten about...made calls for those and ended up doing several other phone calls that need to be done.
Our neighbor didn't show up last nigh claiming he didn't realize that was the arrangement he had made with Sweetie and wanted to know if he could do it tomorrow night. I made a huge pan of ziti and hope that it will hold until tomorrow nigh. He's a good friend to Sweetie, but I have a gut feeling about him. and I always trust my gut. He loves coming over to our house because his wife is a hoarder and our house isn't. I don't like the way he looks at me at times and I just find him creepy. Anyway I told Sweetie I would do this for him since he asked, but also explain how this guy makes me feel and I don't want to do it again.
Off to get some lunch.. I'm hungry!!!

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
I'm peddling as fast as I can just to stay afloat. My brain doesn't have any room left to think about things that I'm procrastinating on. I'm sure it would be ridiculously long list if I gave it some thought. If it’s not on the calendar, about to catch fire, or on one of the SHE cards, it’s just not going to happen. The sad truth is, most procrastination tasks are pretty easy to handle if they’re not left for too long. Note to self...don't wait too long!
TA-DA's -
** Personal care (shower, hair, teeth, etc)
** Teenagers woke up and encouraged to get going
** DD14 delivered to school
** DH and I walked the trails at the park
** Homeschool with DS17. He was frustrated with the Math assignment today but we worked through it.
** DH took his weedeater apart and couldn't get it back together. We took it to repair shop. AGAIN.
** Loaded up some bags of pebbles to put in a hole by the driveway. Teenager drivers. Nuf said
** Stopped by the bank to get cash for the month.
** Garden doings... Feed fish. Planted mustard greens. Harvested tomatoes. Pulled up some okra plants. Watered seedlings.
** Stopped by City Hall to pay water bill.
After picking DD14 up from school I'll take her to the city for a soak in bath and hair washing. This 50 mile process is the PITA that I expected but it is having amazing awesome benefits, so it is worth the effort, time and money.

I have ginen up and am over this heat.
Down to just one task at a time.
Trying to remember the mile a minute crochet stitch.
next load of duds going now.
They are in the dryer.
Folded the other load.
Last load is folded and put away.
Made & ate a sandwich for dinner did up my dish & utensil.
Pressed the fabric I was whining about yesterday.
Hopefully this is the last day of our heat wave. Keeping fingers crossed.

The quoted fellow's name is actually Pychyl ? Well, I was pondering last evening in my post about whether my decisions to do more small cleaning tasks rather than tackling large organization ones was really Pychyl ogical. Yes, I am punchy today.
I guess I did a lot through the morning - HRH said I did - and got overtired. Anyway, I made biscuits for lunch but then had to call on him to get them out of the oven. Suddenly so tired. And for reasons neither of us can explain, the parchment paper was sliding on the baking sheet. Never has done that before. I nearly dropped all the biscuits into the bottom of the oven, and then so did he. Redeemed and gotten to safety, just barely. So, I sat and watched a Father Brown just to decompress and have a start-over.
Joining Nancy in slowing down for a while.
The appliance chronicles
Surprised to hear from HRH's sister that as she is now completely exchanging ALL appliances in her kitchen (we didn't even know she was thinking of it), she is offering us her dishwasher. You know what the real "draw" is, for me, to accept her offer? No decision making. And the construction guy is doing all the work for her, so will bring the dishwasher to us the next time he comes in our direction, so no delivery wait or fee. For HRH, who just got the estimate for the electrical wiring (the lion's share of the cost), buying this used one from a person he knows is honest is a no-brainer. My dsisil knows me well enough to precede the whole discussion with, "it's white". So, it automatically works with my 1950s-look kitchen.

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
After dh's BFF left, dh and I went out for hamburgers. After that we went and got a few groceries. Because today is the last day for the weekly specials, they were out of some things. Oh, well... the things that they were out of were things that aren't essential to our pantry.
I did grab a cottage roll for just over $10, so I've got that boiling on the stove now.

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
I'm glad I've got this block of time today. Tomorrow have 10 a.m. body work and 2 p.m. workout. Dh is out tomorrow night too.
I got HOA stuff done, sold the Silhouette Cameo (electronic cutter) cheaply but it's gone, and while out did an Amazon return and checked HOA mail at the post office. Since I got home I've sent the paperless invites for Rosh Hashana. I also got a card for Harmony ready to send in tomorrow's mail. I need to write a note for the family down the street that had a baby too. (Baby born 8 August, yes I've procrastinated.)
I need to repot a couple of plants on the front porch next. I'd like to change out the pillows on the front porch if I can. Dh has his car parked in the garage where the boxes need to come down.

Adding to my Ta-da's....
- Scheduled a grooming appointment for Micro.
- While heading out for drinks, noticed the pastor's vehicle at church and took the opportunity to drop off the tithe check.
My hip pad had 14 tasks listed for today, and all of them are completed. 56 SHE cards have been accomplished.
I made healthy food choices for my body today, and I can feel my energy levels improving.

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Hello, Nancy and blessed!
Got all the documents uploaded, I think. (I could only upload 5 documents at a time, and it doesn't give a list of what was uploaded, so I'm hoping ( got all the right documents.) Hmm... now that I think of it, I should have uploaded a copy of DD's license as well. I'm having her get that for me right now. There! Scanned and uploaded!
Before I took DC to class, I called the pharmacy to see if they had my ADHD meds; they had not gotten the prescription yet. Ten minutes later, I got a message from the doctor's office that the prescription had been sent. I'm hoping I can pick up the prescription tomorrow morning when I take DC.
I was going to start on the wash next, but it is already lunchtime. The shirts require babysitting, which is why I procrastinate on them so much, so I won't really be able to start them until after I'm back with DC. So, lunch first, and then I will work on groceries until it is time to take DD and pick up DC.
********************
Well, I guess I never actually posted that. I got the shirts done and have menus for the next month picked out. Still haven't done the bathroom. I did throw in another load of wash; I need to get that in the dryer before I go to bed.
Sweet dreams, everybody!

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday PWYC
Thanks, Twins'. That link is full of info and the cartoons at the bottom (Carpe Diem along with this dr) are very funny and probably familiar to everyone. One of them, I notice, cites the research that women, specifically, who forgive themselves for past procrastination are more likely to avoid the same in the future.
Agreed, Mystery - laundry that does NOT require babysitting is so much easier to work into a day.
Nancy, I'm hoping your area's heat wave gives you a break.
lucylee, thank goodness the second style of back brace can really help your dmother. I would worry too, I think, about her purchase of a riding lawn mower. There's so much bumping, vibration and tenseness when using those. It's not like riding in a roadworthy vehicle with good suspension.
