dd younger is sleeping
she was able to lay down by herself this morning

I had a panic moment - no reason - just heightened.
well the panic was before I got a bunch of phone calls.

well they want mom to be hospice in a nursing home/rehab center - no - hospice yes - all the caretakers here have said they would never send their loved ones to most nursing homes. My grandparents had good ones, my other loved ones had terrible ones - the one here is terrible.
I just want her to have quiet and peace.

the social worker - to mom - what are your wishes as you die - mom was overwhelmed by that - oh come on - she has been talking to us and mom now mom panicked.

it's hard for the girls to see that mom may need to go on hospice - I guess she can't have iv's - I have been with hospice a couple times but I don't know about fluids.

she has love and quiet here and her pictures - let her go in peace with people who love her.

starting again

dd younger wants to go to the hospital now - my brother, dd older, the one caretaker is there.
I want to finish something.
mom is feeling a bit better.

all of our emotions are high even with each other - I need to be the calm one - and let everyone bounce off of me.

((blessed)) you are processing this and weighing choices wisely. Right now, your dmother may have trouble remembering previous understandings and conversations, even if there were several. I once wished a great aunt a happy birthday, but she was so very upset because she thought it was supposed to be a birthday 10 years younger, had to re-process recent understanding of her age. Your ddolder has such a kind heart in staying all night. What a relief that ddyounger is recovering and stronger with less pain.

Prostate cancer - with HRH's ddad Joe, doctor said that it was his opinion all men in the U.S. were susceptible to prostate cancer, they just had to live long enough. But also that, like Twins' said, many would simply live with it for years and it would not be a cause of death. And Joe's radiation seemed to do exactly what dr hoped.

I have put one foot wrong in the cutting of the last pieces and so all the ornaments can't be exactly the same, but the difference will be minimal.

Dd27 called. She is covered up with meetings tomorrow but maybe can come see us this weekend and we can plan a lunch sometime.

Blessed I hope you find the solution for comfort care with your dmom and can get her
the relief she needs with out excess Rx daily stuff; hubby had those taken off his regimen,
chol. b.p. Rx and one other that escapes me now. With just ones that help to ease the process
so it's not painful. LH passed just before they did that drip of the strong morphine or whatever it was.
Thinking of you and yours.

I've had my lunch.
Learned of an app that AARP has for phones to help people with transitions in life;
retirement, times you get cards for. To help with renewing purpose. Upon a bit of
research the first mo. trail is free and is $100 a mo. after that for some
no thank you!

This morning I talked with dsis that helped and later I did several pages in my m. health journal today.
I was surprised how many I got through added some color and borders to important headings.
These would be great for a card file system to review later on there are more prompts I need a
new notebook for as this other one is full.

-----
Scrubbed out bird waters in back.
Watered tom plants.
Had my Cran. juice.

I finished put away in the dining room, dining table is washed, floors are vacuumed well.
new toilet is almost done - some one replaced 2-1/2 years ago - same problem with the insides being outdated - (lol 2-1/2 years are considered antiques ;) )

I have been through hospice and the morphine treatment before - they are not mentioning that yet - I personally thought this would be the next step.
problem for her is that she is not in pain - but I am going to talk to family about moving forward - she was up again today - talking - and did pt/ot - it's like an energizer bunny. She will need iv's and antibiotics from what I understand.
her numbers are regulating again. I don't know

next: work in kitchen
1. put away
2. wash down

(((Hugs))) and prayers for you and your family, blessed. I admire the way you’re handling everything thrown at you with such grace.

Went for my “semiannual hoo-ha check” with the oncologist, since I had a precancerous condition a few years back. Things are well enough that she says we can cut it back to annual visits. I told her that insurance didn’t want to pay for the IUD that was put in earlier this year because it’s “birth control.” (Sarah and Abraham notwithstanding, I don’t think so.) She says that’s pretty common, and there shouldn’t be much trouble with an appeal. They paid for the last one; I think maybe because that time the oncologist was the surgeon (I see an NP now), they were able to put two and two together.

Called the dentist office and got an appointment for Monday morning (they’re closed on Fridays); I had a crown fall out. It may have taken some of the tooth with it, but I’m in no pain; hence, Monday. I’m worried that there might not be enough tooth left for another crown, and I’ll have to get the tooth pulled. Unlike the one I had pulled last year, this is not all the way at the back, so that raises the question of a bridge or implant. Well, I guess I’m borrowing trouble to worry about it.

Harriet, Al began the show with Tacky, with a camera on him working his way through the backstage and behind-the-scenes areas till he entered the pavilion as close to me as my far corner of the living room is now! Squee!

Mt. Dishmore is calling to me from the kitchen. Since we just had lasagna last night, I don’t think takeout pizza on paper plates will fly tonight, so I’d better do some dishes.

LOL on Sarah and Abraham, Mystery. Hope the appeal works. Dh joins you in tooth problems - has another root canal coming up.

bw2, thinking of you and family and those hard decisions. I know that staying busy like you are is good for you right now.

Nancy, I'm amazed at the number of notebooks/journals you maintain. You really keep them up. I have tons of empty notebooks around because I love them, but don't use them so much.

Harriet, true that bw2's mom may not recall past conversations. I'm not sure my dmom would have remembered some either. Her dementia and memory was pretty bad at the end. Hoping Harriet gets to see dd27 this weekend. Twenty-seven? Really?

My workout felt intense today - not sure if it really was a hard workout or if I was off my game. Laid down for a little while when I got home because I felt so tired. And I may be too tired to do much else this p.m. I've been nursing a headache since this morning so I may go read.

Mystery, I sent that paragraph immediately to HRH and my kids! How much fun is that!

Mystery, so glad you get to tell a dr "Bye!" for a year at a time.

blessed, just take the best advice you can - what you agree with - and know that you are doing the best anyone could do.

Nancy, sometimes color in hard-copy daily or organizing helps me, too. (planner, cards, etc.) And then sometimes I just want to get things down. I think there is self-care in both. Even just writing the most boring thing in planner I can grab a color felt pen. If it is stitching, I still circle it with dotted color line like stitching. That doesn't take a second and reminds me it's a happy thought.

Was sent a bill in advance for tomorrow. If I were too young for medicare it would be over $500. And I'm not even one of the urgent folks right now. Because I do have medicare (and a medicare extra thingie, all of which are the same but mine happens to be Aet na) it takes many lines to explain but comes out to nothing. I hesitate to think what some of the really involved and complicated days totaled.

((Ouch for headache, Twins'.))
