d lady - so glad your d brother was able to get out of the bulls way. wow too close. I have always been amazed on how a bull tries to grind things with their heads and body weight. so happy he was okay!!!

raising beef cattle and dairy cattle is hard work - well done to both of you! .
My brothers wife and her family raised beef cattle as well. My brother/his wife, most of their friends, as well as my neighbors (back then) , raised/milked cows.

Pigs scare me - my aunt had one. He was lovely to my aunt and uncle but oh he hated everyone else - and I was one of those he wasn't about to let me near him.

I am so so sorry he got hurt. praying for the leg to heal fast.

Master linens underway in the laundry twins.

HRH hears sometimes what's going on with Ken in Canada because they worked on the transfer of the boards that time, and he says Ken is actually in Tanzania again right now teaching math, with things going well.

I remember hitting the ground fast in a log roll to get under the barbed wire fence before a bull could get there. That actually happened to me a lot - I wasn't very welcome in pastures as a child, lol. None ever really got close, and I think it was my cousins who made them mad. We were all saved by the fear our parents would probably kill us if we died. My maternal grandfather died young because of being gored by a bull. Although he survived and even went home from the hospital, he had a heart attack not long after, and the doctors felt it was attributed to the injury. My ddad had to save his brother from a bull once and thankfully did get there, but not before the bull had broken my uncle's arm. These were both dairy breeds, and I believe both Holsteins, a very large bull.

Our neighbors these days are Angus.

I made the casserole and it was on the table right at 5 p.m. Dh is waiting for a football game to start. The baseball game isn't going well. It's on, but the volume is lower than usual and dh is playing on his phone.

I am sure your d dad's brother was very grateful that your d dad was there to save him.

on topic of bulls
my brother s and sis in laws wedding reception was in the barn (her parents house) while Levi the bull was in the bottom part of the barn. Warnings went out to all the kids, city visitors and visiting Australian campers that the bull was not be bothered or gone near. Levi was quiet all night - surprising since there was music and dancing.
I still say that was the best wedding that I have been toonot sure if the bull thought the same.
.(so sad their marriage is what it is - I never expected that)

my aunt as a girl, in France, was chased as well - I don't know who saved her but she always remembered the experience.

I have one more load of laundry to wash only - whites - I do whites on Monday.
I will put it in the dryer tonight or tomorrow morning.

I’ve watched a few YouTube videos about Swedish death cleaning to get inspired and set the tone. Now I just need to let the ideas stew for a while and hope they turn into actions.

Ancestry .com said they had the biggest update ever. So, that got HRH to go over and see the site.

He happened to notice that there were new "hints" about my parents. He looked through and there was a census doc from a neighboring state for my dmother in 1940, which found her living as a boarder, rooming with her twin, and having made $890 that year in the occupation of "primary teacher". I learned that the "Mr. and Mrs. R" couple with whom she boarded were named Sam and Sue and that Sam's occupation was listed as "petroleum". And that her 2 friends Lois and Frances, I had heard her speak of often, were also boarding there and teaching. I'd known she once lived in a boarding house but never knew that's how she met those friends.

HRH got ahead of me with his laundry load, so I had to wait. I'm still waiting on the dryer for some linens to finish before I go to bed.

It is in red white and blue fabric. Had to think on it a bit.
