I might have ventured into unusual territory. Today’s 30-minute outdoor walk was spent strolling through the roads of the local cemetery. While it’s not officially a walking path, I doubt anyone minds us using it that way. The roads are well-maintained, there’s no traffic, and the endless names of past residents from our community provide a kind of connection. It feels like a history lesson listening to DH share his memories of the various names as we walk. His near-perfect recall of events from decades ago warms my heart, as it gives him joy to recount those stories.

Last week, temperatures were still in the 90s. Now we’re having three days of 80s before they drop into the 70s. Brrr… this cooler weather has already prompted me to switch from summer clothes to long sleeves. When it gets into the 60s, I’ll start layering up. It always takes my body some time to adjust to the seasonal temperature changes.

Homeschool has been accomplished and DS17 launched to work.

I’m frustrated that I’m not able to be with my friends online today, but with everything else too! Despite resetting the password for the HOA bank account at the bank today, and it working on my phone before I left the bank, it’s no longer working. And I’ve spent way too much time on HOA biz already this week. I wrote five checks, paid a bill online, once I got a printout of activity from the bank, I updated QuickBooks (we don’t link it to an online bank.) I also chatted and tried to set up the automatic bank drafts for the HOA internet (at the cabana) but the guy who “helped” me when he took care of it didn’t give me the six-digit passcode for the account. I happen to know that he’s out of the country too. And I gathered up the property tax bills and at least entered them as checks to print. I will mail two of the checks I wrote and drop the other three off in mailboxes tomorrow. Enough for one day.

I’d take a nap but I want to sleep tonight, and besides, it’s four p.m. and I want to sleep tonight.

I am alternately getting the resource limit message and getting into the boards. Tried "reload" and that worked this time... we'll see if I can post. On the Chromebook so I'm not good with the Word program here.
The birthday party is over -- and it was nice, but dmom and dbil didn't come. Dmom having a lot of pain (says probably the change in the weather, which she has really been feeling lately) and dbil started having fever and chills this afternoon and dsisil got him to close the office and go home. She says he NEVER goes home early, so she knew he was really sick. She took him some pizza, cake, and Nyquil.
But DS seemed to enjoy himself and I think the rest of us had a good time.

Talking about rabies -- my elementary school principal lost his first wife to rabies. She was bitten by a rabid fox while picking blackberries. I always thought that was so strange, but it happened when dh was a child. DH's cousin was telling me about this not too long ago -- it was a horrible death apparently and she was confined to bed for quite some time before she finally died. This would have been in the mid 1950's, I think.

Also -- I loved the story about the blue jay storm, Cathy! I wish I had watched the ballgame now! The tv is on constantly here, but I tune in to a lot less sports than I used to.

I should have suggested to dh that we walk in the cemetery, LadyM, back when he was trying to walk every day. It would have been very interesting, just as you said -- he would have known so many people and stories that would come to mind as different names came to mind. His parents were in the furniture business here in town for over 50 years, I think, so he knew practically everyone in town.

What is going on with the internet? This is crazy -- how sites are having trouble all over the place! Remember, if we can't get on here, we do have a SHE page on Facebook, so try that if we lose touch!

I don't have a lot of ta-das -- I went to my teacher group meeting, and our speaker was the man who is in charge of a federal program giving aid to homeless students. There are more than I expected and it is really wonderful to hear how this program offers support for these students.
Afterwards, two of the ladies and I went to a local restaurant to eat.
Then I went to Wmart and got the party supplies and a cake for DS.
Dmom called and wanted me to go to the bank for her, so I did that.
I went to pick up dgrands so DS could go to Next Town for pizzas. (We have D*minos and P*zza Hut here, but he wanted P*pa John's.) He had called while I was at Wmart, to say he didn't know if he would have time to pick up DGS from ball practice and then go to Next Town, so I told him I'd take care of DGS. As it turned out, DGS was home early, but I still brought both dgrands to my house.
Played some baseball with dgrands while waiting for the party to start.

I've straightened up the kitchen and dining room and I'm resting for a while.

Tomorrow -- ugh -- chair yoga at 10:00 am... church at 6:00 pm... * I've got to study that lesson!

What IS going on with the internet?

Today we have alternately had trouble getting into email, news sites and videos as well. Had that "service unavailable" notice on a weather report. Good grief.

Yes about pharmacies, you find yourself asking is there anybody out there... .. so sorry you have had HOA frustration too, Twins'.

All the trash went out, and the mud room is clean and straightened.

The electrician has not come, and it is not Monday or Tuesday any more. Sigh.

Still have not actually begun my mini project but have completely changed it and changed the supplies, too. Sometimes you try too hard to plan something creative that you don't really find inspiring. And then it's time to do a 52-card pick-up and decide what would hold interest. There's also the possibility that it's just not the right time and you could let it go. We'll see.
