We don't get any kids here. It's dark (no street lights) and no children under 20 live on the street or in the neighbourhood.
We had frost last night.
Dh and I went to the landfill this morning. We also stopped for a few groceries on the way home. We will be having lasagna for supper. Dh saw it in the frozen food section and asked if we could have it for supper. Sure! Easy meal to "make" just stick it in the oven for an hour.

d twins hope you are having fun with your company - enjoy!
hi d cathy we too, hardly get children.
the neighborhood behind our area is large and houses are close together if though it has a lake in the middle. People drop off their children in that neighborhood bc there are so many kids trick or treating. They also have a lot of people having a fire on the front lawn or give out hot chocolate etc. for kids - lots of adults meeting together for chili/beer etc.
sounds like a good dinner and easy clean up.
hi d Nancy glad you didn't have frost
yay on getting the anti- procrastination done yesterday
waving at you!

Re: last anti-procrastination Wednesday of October 2025
Wanted to post several times so far this a.m., but couldn't. We were in more of a rush getting out of the house than I thought we'd be, because HRH had thought of all kinds of potential delays we could run into on the way. Then when we were there waiting (with plenty of time to spare, of course), the connection wouldn't work. As a matter of fact, while I waited after being taken back, the tv went out and turned out they went out all over the building. The fellow helping me was so disappointed - last time it was a whole week he said.

Just looking in, on my way out of the house in a few minutes with house guests. I haven't had time to CUOP this morning.
I stayed up way too late reading last night, so slept in some this a.m. too.
Will be back later, I hope.

Re: last anti-procrastination Wednesday of October 2025
We have walked.
Sun is out now and it's a lovely day.
I have food no need to run to the store but might be prudent to do it before the holiday.
At least a list for a few things at the smaller market later on where I get my meats.
I could work on the next part of my Holiday planner.
To break down the lists from a month to each week on one page.
I just wish I would have remembered I did that on each card last spring or fall
before I did all that yesterday.
I guess list update is needed each year so there that.

Re: last anti-procrastination Wednesday of October 2025
I think so. I started buying large bags of candy at the beginning of the month whenever I was in a store or shopping online. There’s now a big tub full of candy with some overflow waiting to be used. I’m not sure how many there are, so I plan to go through the bags and tally them up. While doing that, I might as well open all the bags and mix the selections together. DS17 and his girlfriend have volunteered to handle handing it out. We’ll also attend the trunk & treat for the sheer joy of seeing so many friends. Are you ready for Halloween?
DD14’s costume pieces have been arriving in the mail over the past several days. I haven’t seen all the pieces put together yet, but I have a good idea of what the costume will look like. She’ll be wearing it to school tomorrow. I wouldn’t be too surprised if she gets sent home to change. The costume rules are no weapons, no gore, and no politics. Her costume meets all those rules, but… well, we’ll see. I’m absolutely thrilled that DD14 is trying new things and stepping out of her self-imposed box, metaphorically speaking.
Yesterday one of DD14 teachers walked with her all the way to our vehicle. I asked DD14 why and she said the teacher is trying to talk her into being on the Academic Team again. DD14 doesn't want to do it.
FACT - teens eat a lot! Yesterday, I made a double batch of spaghetti and meat sauce, and it’s already gone. Today, I cooked two big pans of chicken and cheese enchiladas along with a dozen tacos, and half of it has disappeared. Every morning, I’ve been making breakfast—eggs, bacon, hot links, biscuits—and it vanishes quickly. Tonight, there’s a fish fry with the church family, thanks to a couple of avid fishermen who treat everyone a couple of times a year.

Re: last anti-procrastination Wednesday of October 2025
I just opened all the bags and there are 2,161 pieces of candy ready to be given out Friday night.
Actually, there are 2,159 because DH and I both ate one. I suspect opening these bags 48 hours before we need them was NOT a good idea. My goal is to have 2k pieces of candy to pass out and hopefully we will have than many by the time trunk & treat happens. Hum......should I even bother to hide 2,159 pieces of candy or just declare it THAT TIME OF THE YEAR and go with the flow?
