Re: Vanillekipferl Wednesday @ TDD - C&C
Another late night for me so I’m not going to be good with conversation today. My tail is dragging.
My Czech aunt made a crescent cookie that sounds similar.
My brother adopted but I was too young to understand the process at the time. I’m not sure if it’s easier or harder now.
Had an emotional day yesterday after talking with the attorney, he’s very nice, family drama was a bear for the past few years and it brought it all back up. Dumped on dh when he got home and worked through it. All estates should be finished up by end of the year and we can move on.
To Do Today
Garbage day
Water
Snack - fruit
Walk dogs
Brush Beau, baths
Check little man’s nails
Dremel dog nails
Vacuum

Dance, workout
Dining -
Storage racks - put together, put boxes in

Kitchen -
Dw - unload, load
Living -

kittykatt, what do you put in the shoebox? I am skipping this year (the convenient locations were all gone by the time I got around the sign up and so I'll just make a cash donation instead), but am always looking for ideas!
helia, yes, the vanillekipferl would be similar to shortbread, but with nuts replacing some of the buter and flour. But definitely the melt-in-you-mouth quality!
That was quite some change for your family life, Smile*Lee! I am really hoping I will not have to add to my family. I know my limits!

Re: Vanillekipferl Wednesday @ TDD - C&C
Hi, all. It's finally warm enough to take Germane out for a short walk behind the windbreak (windchill of -10 C) but with the warmer weather comes a heavy snowfall warning. We don't have a choice about going out as Germane has her appointment with the groomer today.
Thank you for starting us off, trissie. Those cookies sound very challenging, and if I made them I think that I would display them in a glass case or coat them in resin to celebrate my accomplishment forever. But it's a good sign that your dfamily appreciated them if they ate so many of them.
Kittykatt, it was interesting to hear about your df's different experiences with adoption. I don't see how any parent could cope with FAS and RAD without support. A sad situation for all involved.
helia, I'm sorry for the issues that your dbrothers have, and am glad that you came through without them.
Take care driving on those icey roads. I am happier to deal with snow than freezing rain.
Smile*Lee, I can remember going through a phase where I would walk around with my ski jacket open because I thought it made me look cool. I'm pretty sure that it made me look cold.
That was amazing what you did for your dneices/nephews. Your family was actually outnumbered by the new members and that had to have been a hard adjustment.
Actually, that's true for you too, L.Ann. I'm glad that it worked out in the end.
It sounds like Christmas is coming at you like a freight train, Lauralind. And harder to stay on top of when your sleep schedule is out of whack. Do you know what is waking you up so early? Like, is it a sound that you could shut out, or a temperature change?
I'm sorry about the family drama, Bama. So good that the end is in sight!

That's a lot of events and baking, Lauralind.
Good luck to Germane at the groomers, Doggedly.
((Bama)) Hoping today can be more emotionally serene. Yeah, estates and lawyer conversations can bring up some family stuff for sure.
Wow, Smile. I didn't realize you had added to your family. --And there are kids here who wear shorts all year long - if their parents let them. (I had a friend with a son like that.) I don't know how they manage, but maybe kids run hotter than adults??
Enjoy lunch out with friends, L Ann!
I'm finishing lunch. In 20 minutes, I'll do the last bits of packing and then I'll load the car.
Next:
- finish lunch
- finish packing odds and ends
- spiff self
Later:
- pack for overnight trip - wip
- payroll: AR Exam draft ready for review
- 1:15 gather everything and otd to payroll
- 1:30 - 3:30 payroll: teach AAS D8
- drive ~ 2 hours to GR with AC
- short visit at CM's house?
- 6:30 dinner with AC and CM
- check in to hotel
- duolingo
- update health apps
- read
- Mem. thank yous?
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - a tad lower but still very high
- reclaimed kitchen

Re: Vanillekipferl Wednesday @ TDD - C&C
I do know those crescents, trissie ! They are so delicate. I have never made them.
Thanks for the start:) Hope you are having a better day.
Had no time to CUOP - just back for a little bit b4 we head out with dpup.
Waving hello to all busy she -friends.
We have a bit of snow, a lot of slush outside. Everything is grey... I have some accomplishments:
Got pup outside this morning
Got DGD to school
I did get approx. 30 min. on the treadmill, we got a car washed, groceries (which I forgot to bring in...
) and dropped off DD to meet a friend.
Took my med. Made a coffee. Dpup looks so peaceful in front of the fireplace that I don't want to move
But:
I have to grab some cards, wrap/bags etc.
Pup needs her outing
Laundry must be done.
And,
I'm hungry.
I'll be back:)

Freight train is about right doggedly. It won't slow down.
Basic routines are done and any dishes not done will fit the dw next load. I'm taking a break till h comes. I did go to the grocery store.. but then I forgot a couple things. I don't know if I'm super smart but I found a recipe for Danish butter cookies. Looks kinda like shortbread but just thinned enough to pipe it. Eeks I'm not so sure I can make it pretty they are swirled with the piping bag. Then dip it in melting chocolate and sprinkles.
I went to the grocery store after school run. I forgot to pick up the piping bag... I'll go back after. Almost early for the rest of the stores anyway.
Priority list
Basic routines
Kitchen clean
H at 1030 ( she's doing counseling sessions for me)
Decide cookies and how many and shopping list
Browse the stores and see what is here
Bake one kind?
Practice some music see i I have something I can do with flute
Message dog kennel lady
Ask someone familiar with food I told dd I would bring turkey(s)??? 1 or 2 for 15 to 20 people depending who comes
Pick up mom
Plan Christmas with dad
Today's tada list
Break for a bit and make new coffee for us
Visit with h
Make my truffles,???
Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Go through baking stuff
Straighten fridge check supplies
Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
School run
Grocery store and put it away

Sending prayers for peace, love, calm, especially for trissie, bama, smiles, helia, kittykatt, l.ann, laurlind, peaches, KitKat, doggedly and all the rest of us.
Just met with appraiser agent. She's a HS classmate of my brother. We had a nice visit.
Now I need to finish last 3 acknowledgement cards, get a few things down from mother's attic, then go to bank, and work at my house on wrapping and getting gifts in the mail. I don't think I'm going to make it to exercise class. I'll shovel driveway instead

Safe trip, helia!
Is someone else bringing the stuffing, Lauralind? That will help, and nowadays they tell us not to cook it inside the turkey.
You are off to a great start.
Gma, I think that you will get all of the exercise you need just trying to get to exercise class, LOL.
I have nibbled at the edges of dishes and laundry. Time to spiff myself.
Wednesday
Cleaned up after dog X 2
Breakfast for Germane
Put on a pot of coffee
Checked flyers
Put away dry laundry
Wiped/put away breadmaker
