Hello, all. I kind of faded away again yesterday. I did have a good phone visit with my db.
Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I'm sorry that your doors have not arrived yet, but it's good that you and your contractor have a plan. I think I'll follow your good example and use the SADD light while I work on my course this morning.
We still have wind chill of -19 C here, helia. There are a couple of photo fundraisers this coming weekend, but I'm just not enthusiastic about putting Germane in the car in this weather for something non-essential. The closest fundraiser has a bake sale, so I might go to that one without her.
Looks like you have a busy day with payroll today!
L.Ann, you will have happy birds with a full bird feeder.
trissie, you have got me curious about The Little Mole. I'll see if I can find one of the cartoons on Youtube.
But first up, I'll spend a little time on my course. I will also set up my February budget using the one that ChatGPT and I set up.

Re: Mole Monday
Morning all. I thought the mole was in honor of ground hog day.. maybe you don't have it in Europe? I feel like he's not seeing his shadow today lol. Freezing rain over here. It's grossly icy again. Or maybe still. December brought snow. January brought rain and then turned everything hard as rock with a week or so of cold. Then more rain and more ice again. Sales are definitely good on ice melt and traction aid.
Ds starts new semester today. Science and social studies. German and PE. He's quite looking forward to science. German could be interesting he has no second language skills. But this kid seems to be changing his goals for the better in some ways. Umm now he thinks he might want post secondary of some sort.
Meaning he needs to backtrack math. Technically I think he already has grade 11 credit for workplace math. He worked ahead and the teacher had him challenging the grade 11 exam. He needs the higher level math for post secondary. He threw out a term once of electrical engineering??? My autistic socially challenged boy that is one track intellectual in science. Give him non fiction subjects he's passionate about and he thrives
.
Anyway I need breakfast and then school run and I will work late shift today since he has wrestling later on. Messes with my end of day timing.

Re: Mole Monday
Dogged, there's plenty of Little Mole cartoons online, and since there is no talking in them (well, there's the occasional "yay-dah", which means "oops", but that's about it
they are short and aimed at the smallest kids but that makes them even more beloved:
https://www.youtube.com/@krtekthemole3695
And there's a lot of books, especially the board books with really great rhymes that I can still say word by word because I read them so many times
Will DS be able to use German, lauralind? It's a hard language to grasp, very usefully here in middle Europe, and I absolutely hated it at school
Anyway, I really, really love The Little Mole and am not afraid to admit it!
Home from DBD's speech therapy and she cooperated (a rare occasion), so happy about that.

Re: Mole Monday
Thanks for the interesting start, kittykatt. Hope the cabinet doors show up.
Helia, the deer sighting paints a lovely picture.
Lann, your birds must be enjoying their own paparazzi.
Cute mole cartoon, trissie. Yay for cooperating kiddos.
Dogged, any sign of a āwarm frontā (relatively speaking) so you and Germane can go out together? Iām glad you and db find many topics to talk about.
Laura, sounds like ds is showing interest in his future with his current studies.
I had high hopes of starting February getting organized for the month but somehow binged the new Bridgerton episodes. I didnāt realize they only released half or I might have waited but I am all caught up on them until end of the month, when the new ones come out.
Done:
Up
Weigh and log
Breakfast warm and waiting on me
Floors cleaned
Dogs out
Pets fed, watered
Started on litter, lilyās room done
Meat thawing for beatnik casserole
Now Iām going to eat and plan my next steps.

Re: Mole Monday
Lauralind, I found German surprisingly easy for English speakers to learn, because our language is based on theirs. One thing to watch for: If your DS hasn't learned a second language already, he might never have been taught grammer. Be prepared to help him with things like what is a transitive verb or a direct object, so that he doesn't get stumped before he starts.
trissie, thank you for the link. I started watching The Little Mole In The City, thinking that it was going to be a cartoon about how to take a bus, how to cross a street at the corner, how to shop, etc. I was completely unprepared for how sad it is. They really don't sugar coat things for little children, do they? I'll go back to it after, to see if the displaced animals find a new home.
I have done some dishwashing and eaten some rice.
You did your best, Bama, but those Bridgerton episodes were just too powerful to escape!
It actually is warmer today: our wind chill is up to -15 C. I just don't see the point in taking Germane out in that. If she shows an interest in leaving the apartment, I'll take my cue from my neighbours and just take her up and down the hallways of the building. I can set her down near the elevators so that she can smell where other dogs have walked, which she enjoys.
This sounds like the start of a dad joke, but I'll bite: what kind of casserole do beatniks eat?

Re: Mole Monday
The problem is the ice, Trissie. Some of the neighborhoods are icy although ours is fine. Because of the piles of ice some of the bus turnarounds arenāt doable. The next problem is that it isnāt melting anytime soon.

Re: Mole Monday
Looking forward to having time to check out little mole.
And maybe do a llittel cuop
There was a mole in a story book I had as a child.
been to Monday Bible study
eaten half an orange
home to gather a bag to
(next up) collect my mail at the post office
Bring BP cuff and stethoscope to dfBS who missed me while I was gone, feels anxious when I am gone, and is glad to have me back.
get just a few groceries, as tomorrow is senior day, but I need something healthy to eat today after cleaning the fridge before I left.
change clothes before exercise class at 215
community meal at 515
I feel for those who have issues with the weather, in communities that don't need to usually be prepared to deal with it. It can be treacherous and dangerous.

Re: Mole Monday
Welcome home, gma. Your friend must be so happy to have you back.
LAnn, I saw some pics of Oxford Ms after their ice storm last week, it was beautiful but horrific for a southern town that isnāt equipped for such extreme weather. I think some still donāt have power in these freezing temps.
We are getting a Costco soon, kitkat. I donāt really shop the warehouse stores but itās nice to have options. There is a Costco about 40 miles away in a different city in the opposite direction but this one will be easier to access as most of our tourist traffic heads the other way.
Dogged, you may bite my casserole, I will share.
Idk where the name came from, itās a recipe from a long ago coworker, just ground beef, mixed veg, can of tomato soup, pasta noodles mixed together and topped with crackers and cheese, baked. Yum and filling. I like it bc I get everything in one dish so easier cleanup.
Bridgerton is an easy watch I agree. Have you seen any seasons?
Done:
Up
Weigh and log
Breakfast eaten, logged
Floors cleaned
Dogs out
Pets fed, watered
Started on litter, lilyās room done
Meat thawing for beatnik casserole
Arm exercises
Planner caught up from last week til today, worked on daily to do list amendments
Started back on daily Bible reading, Gen 1-3
Watched some news, praying for S Guthrieās missing mom
Pushing off for more adventures!
