Checking in...
I made it to chair yoga, even on a misty rainy morning...
signed some checks for the church secretary...
went to the post office...
went to the drug store... (got some cranberry capsules -- off-brand Azo. That Azo is expensive!)
called dcousin (her husband had texted, asked me if $200 sounded right for the HVAC service)
met dcousin at their house and paid her
invited her to go to lunch, so she and I did that.
I'm just now back home and will go get dgrands soon.

Mystery -- I wasn't even thinking about Jesse Owens sorta having dual citizenship between the two of us! That's neat! I don't think he ever really talked much about his Alabama roots, but people in my part of the state are really proud of him.

(((Rose))) You have certainly had a busy time the past couple of days.

Cathy -- hang in there with those cold temperatures.

Twins -- your supper sounds delicious!

Nancy... yes... fit to be tied about a teenager's cycle (or preteen) -- yep. But this was not so much PMS as it is DURING. I will try to notice next month how things are going.

You know, I thought about the fact that ds has been gone for the past 12 days. That probably makes a difference too. DGD is so crazy about her daddy, and I am sure ddil is stressed too, having to do a lot more of the laundry herself, and the school drop off, and just everything that ds normally takes care of. So between PMS/cycle stress and ddil's stress rubbing off on her, I guess dgd does have a lot building up in her. All her teachers say she is sooo good at school, so I guess she has just been good as long as she can stand it when she gets to me. DS will be home tomorrow night, though. I know that will make them all happy!
She does get enough exercise, I think -- that was part of the fight the day before yesterday. (Her and her dbro arguing about how they should share their play area at home. I told them that was none of my concern; they would have to discuss that with their parents.)
This so that we can be early enough for the appt so that he can be miserable waiting.
Oh yes... that was dh exactly.
Tomorrow is another day.

CUOP and enjoyed reading your posts. The ups. The downs. The struggles. The triumphs.
(((Group Hug)))

After getting DD14 and DS17 launched this morning, DH and I went to the city for my dentist appointment. Deep cleaning every 3 months is a PITA, but I suppose it is better than some other things. At least it is only one hour of misery while sitting in the dental chair and then it is done. Afterwards we got gas and a basket full of pantry restock food at Sam's.

LucyLee - Do you have your home stocked with monthly supplies for your DGD? That is something that I had to get used to keeping on hand.

After being out of the house for 5 hours today, I am feeling behind. Take care of the home is never "done" so I need to just start again and continue.

The ups. The downs. The struggles. The triumphs.
Echoing LadyM's words!

I am finally, nearly, done with the HOA year-end work for 2025. I've printed statements to pdfs and will look over them all again before sending to the board. I emailed pool chair and social chairs to ask about their budget for 2026. I've formulated a proposed budget which would allow us to save about 2/3 of the dues increase as a reserve if it works.

I reminded dh about the cart that he's been supposed to put together for me for a couple of weeks. He's gotten going and is getting close. I think there are seven drawers to assemble and he's working on the fifth one. Thank goodness! That will allow me to empty the plastic cart with some stamping stuff in it and will give me surface that matches my Sizzix "Hot Shot" machine.

Heading downstairs to get ready for friends in eeeek! 45 minutes...

There has been a box with 2 rolled up pie crusts in it in the fridge since before Christmas. I decided today was the day to finally make an apple blackberry pie. It wasn't great, but it was edible. Crust ended up being a bit darker than I would have liked.

Groceries have been put away. Two large bags of kitty litter are out in the garage. Pantry looks better than it did this morning.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

We got to the place fine, of course. HRH started insisting that I look at it as we approached, and he slowed down. I asked him what he was doing and he said, remember, it disappears as you get close to it.

People were nice enough. The tech this time said, "we love it here", when I complimented the new building.

Had finally found some nice poblano peppers, which HRH loves, so decided on a skillet meal this evening. Very good. HRH needed seconds.

Ramblin', thank you for checking in with us after a hard day. So glad you could get ds to help you and also glad you got an all clear. A good rest will make a difference for your household. ((hugs))

Ugh, Mystery - printer troubles on a day that was really inconvenient. Sorry about the loss of credits at the center.
I think you are the only person I know who suspected when it was going to be the day of her first period. Very well informed. A good mother.

I still would love to confront the awful woman (not our teacher) who addressed all the girls in my 6th grade PE 2nd-semester in the Field House (before going on to Junior High where the knowledge was), and told us period pain did not exist and was all in our heads. A woman. A woman. I'll never forget all the girls around me turning as we all looked at each other. It was really some kind of gaslighting, I think, but at the time we were all confused and embarrassed to talk to each other much. A few brave older girls said later some choice words  within small groups, which became, really, the only voices of reason. No one spoke up at the time, though. I'm sure those girls thought I was shocked at them, but if I could go back in time I would high-five them. Oh, wait, we didn't know what high-fives were, either. I feel old now.

YES, Harriet! I had a terrible time the first year or so after I started. I am definitely sympathetic to Dgd, but still hope to impress upon her that there has to be some limit to the screaming and certainly the idea that she can walk to the local store!
(Oh — and yes, I’m all stocked up with teen pads for her, Lady.)

Whatever ddil said to her, it was a miracle, and she was super well-behaved today!
Tomorrow is another day.
