So, did your DH's bid got accepted, kittykatt?
Dogged, did you take a bear's sleep? It must be wakey-wakey time! :-)
having to do things after dinner should be illegal, helia!
stay warm and safe, L.Ann!
you can jump in anytime, kitkat!

So... my car will not be an easy repair :-( My small shop has no idea, other than "something's not right and you really shouldn't drive till it's fixed". I have secured a spot at the big shop for Monday morning, did the grocery run on the way from picking up my car at the small shop (it's at the same intersection as our LIDL) and I can do without a car for the weekend, so I should be set. We already have plan B for leaving for the ski trip if my car will not be fixed by next Friday, because after mulling over the idea for weeks, DH had bought a roof mounted cargo carrier box for his car, extra large to fit all of our skis (his car is a four wheeler, so for a weekend trip in the mountains it would be better, and we can also use the cargo carrier in summer when we go to the cottage because when the car is set up with 7 seats, it has limited storage space) just last week. Worse come to worse, he make do the trip twice. Still, pretty stressed about it, but not like there's anything else I could do about it.

That's cool that you have seen Walden Pond, helia. Was it like you expected?

Hey, trissie, apparently I heard on the radio that Canada and Czechia are going head to head today. I assume that they are talking about hockey.

Hi, L.Ann. Have a good day with Little Bit. I hope that the weather cooperates for you.

I am at the end of Page 1, and fed. Time to do a bit.

trissie, that's too bad about your car. But good that your DH's car can save the trip.

Hi, Bama. We can get a lot done while piddling around. You already have clean floors!

More happy birds at L.Ann's house!

I am enjoying the course, kitkat. I haven't gotten very far in it, as I only spend a bit at a time on it, but there's no hurry. I'm realizing that I probably wouldn't be comfortable in a classroom any more, as I pause the video to read the powerpoint and then back up the video to relisten to what the instructor said. My attention span isn't what it used to be.
I have already used it to rework my budget to track what I'm actually interested in, so I can see the potential.
It looks like your outing gave you your exercise for the day, or close to it!

I have a functioning set up for my computers! I didn't like the modern KVM switch that uses HDMI cables instead of the old VGA cables. It required more cables, some of which were not included, and even needs to take an outlet on the power bar. My old switch just takes power from the USB port that it is already plugged into. Anyway, I found that if I ordered an HDMI to VGA through WalMart I could avoid delivery fees by stocking up on Germane's pee pads at the same time. I've just tested it out, and everything is working perfectly. One keyboard, one mouse and one monitor.
Unfortunately, my first plan to keep the laptop under the monitor's riser won't work. I was able to run my oldest laptops this way, using an external power button. But the new laptop only has power on the keyboard, and it goes into sleep mode when you close the lid, so it will have to stay on top of the second riser. I'm really glad that I bought two of them. But I'm going to have to rethink where to keep all of the stuff that I like to keep handy on the desk.

Hello everyone!

Just a quick CI, but I have very good news. DH found out just before 5 pm that his application for voluntary redundancy/ early retirement was successful.😀😀😀 A huge thank you to everyone who sent prayers and positive thoughts.😀

We don't have a time scale yet, as all the pension details have to be calculated, which is going to take time (the redundancy in payment should be quicker), but I'm guessing late spring /early summer? But the important thing is that's he's been successful. I feel like a huge weight has gone, after nearly a year of uncertainty.

Oh, and I cleaned and decluttered the junk drawer in the kitchen in today, so the spring cleaning marathon is finally finished! :D
