"Reflection requires stillness.
One cost of rushing from thing to thing is that you lose the space to think. Hard work matters, but nonstop motion often hides a quiet truth: you could have used your time better.
If you never pause, you confuse activity with effectiveness. Make time to think. Walk outside. Sit quietly. Create space. Then move again, but this time on purpose."

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
Good morning! Thanks for opening us up, Twins!
I think I spend a bit too much time "sitting quietly." Hubbub for hubbub's sake is not one of my faults.
Have had breakfast and am watching curling. The US is having a rough time against Switzerland. Up a little early this morning; I may have to make myself a cup of tea. Roused DC at quarter to nine and have not heard further from them; I may have to go up and prod a little. I would like to get DC signed up for driving classes this morning, since we (my credit card) didn't do it yesterday -- I don't know why I didn't prod them last night.
I need to get a shopping list put together. That's a way I can be productive while sitting -- best of both worlds! I also need to file papers from my desk, but the shopping list is a bit more urgent.
Rose, whenever I go for a mammogram, I think of Lynlee's description from several years back (I miss Lynlee!) of having her "cups turned into saucers."
Well, have a great day, everybody!

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
I'm up at 5:30 I think I heard the truck start and leave up the street.
Did my coffee & qt., journaling, & planning, also logged yesterday's progress.
Had a bite to eat mini blueberry muffin cooked & ate an egg.
It is starting to get lite at six a.m. now and sunset is at 5:08
so we are getting apx. 2 more hours of daylite a day according to my
unofficial calculations.
I put a box away this morning.
Thinking: This happened as I put outlining info in a comp. note book.
Getting info. from chapters that need to be expanded, or divided for future reference
and notes. Yes for that progress.
Music helped!
Basement walk about happened.
Fetched & processed mail.
Waving to everyone!

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
I got things straightened up for dcleaning lady earlier, and she's working her magic.
OMM:
cleaning lady 9:15ish, straighten up
Workout at 2:00
Post office
canned dog food to give meds to ddog (they sent home some gastrointestinal food last week but I need more, it's just to get meds, rolled into a ball into her.)
Organize, put away papers on upstairs desk, mostly related to HOA
Straighten stamping desk
Cemetery accounting and papers
Papers in kitchen downstairs, paper taming later
Ddog has four more days of antibiotics I think. I know they are upsetting her tummy so she's not eating well. And we should get path results back early next week, I'll consult with vet or their techs about her food then.

Good morning
I'm on hour #5 of my day and am thankful to have a plan so I don't need to overthink.
I've planted beet seeds this morning. It is a few weeks too early to plant beet seeds, but there is a teeny tiny itty bitty chance they could sprout and be successful. I'll replant without regrets.

This could be used to describe my hourly pathway plan. Accomplish several cards. Stop. Have AHHHhh moments of relaxing and reflection. Update spreadsheet. Start again. It mimics the hourly 45/15 challenges we used to do on the original SHE board.Make time to think. Walk outside. Sit quietly. Create space. Then move again, but this time on purpose.

Picked up the back yard.
I've had my lunch.
Putting stuff away on the table now.
Deleted a bunch of junk e-mails.
We've walked.

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
Hi. I had a busy morning. I set the alarm to get up and moving at 7. Recycling had to get out, along with garbage and compost. Dh wanted to be up by 8. Coffee and hot chocolate shortly after that and out the door by 8:30 ish for a 9 a.m. appointment that was only a few moments drive to get to. You know, get there way too early so we could sit and stare at the floor. Thankfully they got dh filling in a bit of paperwork (I ended up doing it because he couldn't hold the clip board and write at the same time due to the left hand shaking so badly.)
Off we went into the room just after 9 and it took them close to an hour to get things done and figured out. Poor dh was sitting on the bed with both legs out in front of him and just looking at me the whole time like he couldn't understand what was going on all around him. He looked lost and scared all at the same time.
After that was all done we went home and then I headed straight out to knitting. I also went and bought him a V Day card.
When I got home we both had lunch and then we both had naps. Now all of a sudden it's time to make supper. I also need to do at least 1 litter box and fill the dishwasher.
I did update in the husband's health thread.

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
We're still on the first page...it must be a slow news day in the village.
I got through a good part of the paper sorting, had my brunch, and worked out. Went by post office on the way home. Dh is snoozing in his chair and ddog is enjoying the sunshine. I'll walk her soon.
Rats, just realized I forgot to by the pet supply store for canned dog food. Will need to do tomorrow.
Dh is out tonight bowling.
Two more HOA checks in.

Re: Thinking Thursday PWYC
I need to run the dishwasher tonight.
Right now I am waiting for the dryer to buzz after a short "wrinkle free" load from last night's wash.
We had Lo Mein with some shake n bake chicken drumsticks.
I had to phone the nurse's clinic because dh thought he had to take off the compression socks before bed. Nope. Apparently they can be worn 2 to 3 days as long as they aren't feeling too tight or if they are wet. Dh has told me he still wants to have his shower tomorrow, so I will help him take them off before the shower.
I hope this gets us to page 2. (nope)
