Bama, yes our "pork and beans" + cabbage meal was good. Dh made it Tuesday night for our Tuesday dinner crew - 7 of us for dinner. Were eating leftovers tonight. How do you like mushroom coffee?
Our temps are dropping too, L Ann. We might get snow tonight and/ or on Saturday.

So, my super scheduled day vanished after 3:30 pm. First, my personal trainer texted me to move me to tomorrow. Then, SS replied to my text, saying that she didn't need me tonight - next week she would. SO, I unexpectedly have an open schedule for the rest of the day. Of course, it is currently 4:15 pm, but still, I'll take it. I'll try to get myself outside for a walk.

- payroll: review more audiofiles - we're choosing some to benchmark speaking assessments w/ all the teachers
- make bed
- load of towels washing

We have had our workout today, and I am really feeling it. I went to bring Germane to the animal hospital, but found the car encased in ice. Like it's a car-shaped ice sculpture. I'm not sure how to start chipping the ice off. And of course I hadn't left much time to get there, as we are only one block away. So there was nothing for it but to power walk to the animal hospital with Germane under my arm. We got there with me gasping frantically and trying to explain. They were nice about it. We went over to the scale, but before I could set Germane down, the receptionist told me that Germane was pooping. I gasped "Oh, good! We need a fecal sample." But, Germane had actually pooped down my jacket, and then I stepped in it.
So, the receptionists got the fecal sample and brought me paper wipes. They took care of the mess by the scale and I dragged my foot on the paper towels over to the examination room so as to not spread the manure. We started our appointment with my dragging my foot of paper towels around and the vet tech trainee giving me directions on where to wipe next. While this was going on, I gave the vet the long saga of Germane's appetite loss, and her coughing, etc. He spent a good amount of time with us, and got blood samples for various tests and I have new medications and a refill on her current one.
Our walk home was more sedate, but I was already so tired that I kept setting her down on the way. We made it up to the apartment, I washed out her eyes and paws, gave her dog food that she was happy to eat, started the pot of coffee and sank gratefully into my chair.

I'll be happy to hang out with all of you while I take a rest.

Mushroom coffee, you say, helia? I am intrigued. I have found a substitute for chocolate as prices spiral out of control, but I am still addicted to coffee. Ah, I see that Bama is our local expert on it. Spill, Bama! (Info, not coffee.)

Those sound like some great temperatures, L.Ann. If you would care to share a little, just until I can knock the ice off of my car and open the door... I'll even take some of the rain, if we can get the temperature high enough that it's helping to melt the ice and not just adding more layers, LOL.

We are definitely not offering to take your mosquitoes, Bama. We have plenty of our own!

It snowed this afternoon, Dogged. The 45-50 degree temperature drop was a definite shock.

(((Dogged))), what a morning! You deserve an award! I hope Getmane got a good report (or gets one if you’re waiting on any test results). I hope you can stay home while your car thaws out.

Helia, Dogged, mushroom coffee is good, I can’t tell much difference tbh, maybe a little “off” taste if you think you’re drinking bean coffee but nothing drastic, it’s easy to get used to imo anyway. I know people’s tastes differ so try at your own risk.

LAnn, that big of a temp change is a shock to the system. Our lows for the next couple of nights are the 40s, it’s been in the 60s, so not as big of a difference. Both are pleasant.

I had all of the outside doors open today and aired the house out nicely, love a good cross breeze. I just have to block the doors open or they randomly slam shut.

Mostly piddled today, I think it will be a Bridgerton night since it’s almost dark and I doubt I’ll get anything else done today, and it IS on the list, so I HAVE to do it.

We'll know about the blood tests next week, Bama, but her lungs sounded better than expected so we have hope that her heart is not too bad.

Started filling the breadmaker. Found out too late that I didn’t have enough white flour. Put in ⅔ cup of whole wheat flour and hoping for the best.

Our forecast thinks we'll get some snow tonight and then another 1.2 inches snow on Saturday and then ice Saturday night. We shall see what happens, but it doesn't sound like great weather.

I kind of fizzled this afternoon. I was quite tired. I think I'll work on the course overviews for payroll tonight and maybe some reading. Oh, and I'll order that wedding gift.

No, helia, I only live a block away from the animal hospital, so it made more sense to just carry Germane to the animal hospital. If I can hold out until Monday, it should melt enough that I can break it off. If. I'm probably going to have to get some brie to cover Germane's pills before then, and I might have to stock up on her preferred dog food as I just finished the last can. It depends on how flexible she is.

Helia, I only bought some because I was “influenced” by someone on line who struggled with cancer, health issues, and is a lot healthier than I am and I thought it might be a good thing. Its ok.

I forgot about the zoom call this evening, it usually lasts an hour but lasted several hours. Now I’m tired and very hungry. Dh called (from the same house just a few dozen feet away lol) during the call, he was tired when he got home so took a nap, let me go see if he wants to eat something or already found something while I was busy. Then maybe I can start my show and snack.
