It makes me happy to think that you have pansies, Kittykatt. I do love them.
FrenchFly, you brought me back to a memory from early in my career when I had to deal with an older woman who was always playing one-upmanship games and power games, and I was mostly too naive to see what she was up to. I had worked for this organization a year before this woman joined the organization, so when she announced that I could not produce my monthly report from the computer, but would have to keep dangling until she pronounced it time, I knew perfectly well that was not how things had ever worked. Being oblivious, I was actually not playing a power game when I explained to her that this had never been necessary in the past and recommended that she ask our mutual boss for help in organizing her work. She withdrew the request.
I can imagine your boss's frustration as she deals with a competent employee who doesn't fall for her games!
I hope that you enjoy your cafΓ© cΓ©ramique. We used to have those in the 1980s and they were very popular, but we don't see them hear so much any more.
trissie, may the strangers be friendly and have good swimsuit suggestions.
Zaphod Beeblebrox is disappointed to learn that he cannot acquire a third head by drinking your water. He has been enjoying the second one so much.
Sorry about the superpower, Kittykatt, but enjoy your garden.
Woo hoo on getting your DEFRA consultation written.
WTG on winning the auction, L.Ann. That is a great way to work out the dilemma when Grandma wants to treat the grandkids but the parents are drowning in toys. Little Bit gets her toy, and has yet another reason to be happy at Grandma's house.
Ah, I see that kitkat and her family have hit on this solution too.
WTG to J12yo, helia! I hope that you find lots of Dutch treats to take home.
I hope that your activities are not too hard on your back, kitkat.
Good luck getting the house to match dh's family's standards, FrenchFly.
I'm sorry that the ceramics were not a better experience, but happy that you enjoyed your alone time.
That is a nice doll with pretty dresses, etc., L.Ann, and I am very glad to hear that you didn't have to pay that price. That really was a shock.
Bama, having hibernated all January and February, I think that I might be ready to face the people-y part of the world. Maybe.
Enjoy the nature in your back yard!
Saturday
Picked up dog food
Heart pill for Germane
Put away dry dishes
Listened to my Saturday morning radio shows
Emptied out small box/collapsed it and put it in recycling
Booted computer
Started moving devices back onto the Bell network
Gathered parts for portable speaker, labelled the cord and packed it
Found a heavier duty USB-C cable and set it up to charge tire inflator
Started a new system for organizing cables in the cables/charger pouch so they donβt tangle. It takes up more space.
Got a bigger pouch.
Looked critically at the bottom shelf of desk, which has got clutter creeping in to an inconvenient state. Thought about getting a small drawer unit. Would require a smaller drawer unit than any I have. Looked at the boxes and realized that I can use a pee pad box with frozen fish boxes as drawers or shelves within it.
Set it up under desk and moved things in to be properly organized later. Instant improvement.
Checked one online flyer

Re: Swallowtail Butterfly Saturday
Forgot to say: Today's goals:
I absolutely must make it to the lockers in the basement to check if I have another box of pee pads. If I don't, I'll need to order some right away.
I need to wash my hair. Don't tell my Inner Brat. I'm planning on tricking her into the shower.
I need to go through online flyers and find some protein sources for Germane. We are getting low on frozen fish that is not coated, and we shouldn't be relying on it anyway. She is supposed to be on a senior diet, which means lower protein.
SHEM: Some people bring happiness wherever they go, some whenever. But we all bring joy.

Re: Swallowtail Butterfly Saturday
Hello, everyone!
Helia, your little friend J sounds extremely talented!
I hope you enjoyed your time in the garden, Trissie!
FFB, I'm glad you at least had time to think this morning. I hope you can get your health concerns taken care of.
Dogged, how ingenious to fashion your own drawers out of spare parts you already have to hand.
KitKat, re fertilisers: anything containing ammonium nitrate (listed on the ingredients ) should be disposed of carefully, as it can explode if damaged! As for anything else - liquid fertilisers tend to last for 5 - 10 years before they separate and /or deteriorate. Granular fertilisers can last a very long time, so long as they are stored somewhere dry.
L.Ann, that doll is beautiful, but the price is eye watering! WTG getting a good deal!
Ive planted my pansies and also the hellebores. I've moved the daffodils that have gone over to the back steps. All kitties (including the two we are cat sitting) have been fed. (I feel like Mrs Danvers going out to feed Cookie and Izzy with all those keys!
) I've prepped lunch and make a coffee cake. DH is supposed to be doing something for supper, and I have Matilda on my lap.

You have had a pleasant and worthwhile day.
If you are Mrs. Danvers, then I think that we are casting Freddie for the part of Rebecca.

I had an upper limit I was willing to pay for the doll and accessories which I considered extravagant but was way less than the one I linked to. The doll is in good shape although the hair can use a bit of workβ¦. A job for later.

Re: Swallowtail Butterfly Saturday
Here I am.
Not a productive day but the most mobile day of the week:) I'm OK with that. I was losing hope that I can return my house to (at least) pre- March Break state next week.
Had all three little ones this morning, briefly.
I did go to a class (Pilates) with my DD and DDIL. Followed it up with shopping. (All I got was socks
) Fixed the TV for DH. Took pup out to play in back, then for a :45 walk. We are really getting there with the dogs... I would not call her "neutral" but she is not barking, pulling or lunging toward dogs. She does keep moving although will look back at them. Anyone else with pups like that?
I haven't had time to CUOP yet but it looks like you have all been busy.
Thanks for the info, Kittykatt - I'm careful about all chem. disposal. (i.e. they go to the dump)
I used to go to a watercolour class: pansies were my fav. things to paint. (although pretty challenging)
I hope all the kitties get along?
Will catch up with everyone tomorrow.
Have a great night!

Re: Swallowtail Butterfly Saturday
9:30 pm. We're home from CG1. So, my day is done. And I'm tired. Not much happened this afternoon other than prepping for CG1, unpacking, and then going to CG1 late at 5:30 - and getting home now. SO many things didn't happen, and tomorrow is pretty scheduled too (church in the morning; CG2 in the afternoon 3:30 - 6). I don't like these super-scheduled and super social weekends, especially after a very busy week with lots of social activities as well. There's no Sunday dinner tomorrow night as the Cs will still be at the meet, so that's one thing off my schedule.
I'll be back tomorrow with a list and some mojo, I hope.

Re: Swallowtail Butterfly Saturday
I'm glad that you are starting to feel improvement, kitkat.
You got lots done, L.Ann. Have a good night.
It's a lot to keep up with, helia. I'm glad that you get to rest tomorrow night.
I got all of my goals for today done. That means two things that don't normally happen: 1) I set goals. 2) They were realistic.
Checked two online flyers: found a good deal on frozen basa for Germane and chicken legs for me
Showered/washed hair
Phone visit with db
Gathered boxes and garbage for basement
Brought all down
Boxes to lockers.
Found a box of pee pads to bring back up
Brought two boxes from Bell so that I can pack the PVR to return
Checked mail
Dug around Roku menus and found old episodes of The Commish to watch.
Made gnocchi with shrimp and pesto for supper
