Good afternoon Ladies. I've been up forever but got busy with my DGD. My early morning call with dfriend this morning got delayed to this afternoon. So now is the time to do something. Will CUOP as I can.
Weather update: we have flurries

remove items froms stairs (dangerous)
take down cooler, pot etc.

Saw a lovely pair of Cardinals in the morning with a Robin watching from another tree:) Thought of your birdfeeders and the fun you must be having.

It's been quite the night. Germane was not well, so I would wake up to grab her and get her onto the pee pads, and then clean them up and the floor around them. I had a good sleep after 6:00 am though, to make up for it. I think that Germane is most of the way through this bout. She is resting comfortably in the bathroom.

I did avoid the freezing rain, Bama, but am still happy with my shorter trip as I came back with everything that I really needed.
It sounds like your break on the porch was very productive.
It's quite common for dogs to have seasonal allergies as well as allergies to food.
Over the counter Benedryl is something that vets prescribe, but it has to be the basic one with nothing fancy added, and the dosage is based on their weight. I can dig out my chart, if you are interested.
What are you trying to trap? Not possums, I take it.

Gma, you sent me back to my globe to check out of curiosity. I'm in Ottawa, and part of Minnesota is further south than me, so I could be wrong about you being further north.

Thank you for starting us off, Kittkatt. Horses is a fun topic. I have never had much access to them, but was always fascinated by them. I have a special soft spot for the big draft horses.

Here's a laugh: my phone acts as an extra remote and speaker for the ROKU. Since last night, they haven't been talking because they think that they are on separate networks. I've checked and checked, and they are both on the Bell wifi. I've been booting everything in sight except my phone. I finally booted my phone, and problem solved. Note to self: try booting the thing that's not working, not everything else in the apartment.

That's fun that you were a show jumper when you were young. I had a df who I think was in hunter class too. She was with the pre-Olympic stream. Never quite good enough to go to the Olympics, but she trained with those who did. She would occasionally bring me out to the stable to see her horse. He had quite a sense of humour, and on the one occasion when she had me ride him he would dance in a circle or dance back and forth without moving his back legs from their spot, so no forward motion just a horse having a good laugh.

Doggely, I think of all of Canada as north of me. I'm sorry Germane is not doing well.

Weather report here - 35F felt very nice when it followed below 0 F weather, but since it was 80 , 2 days ago, it feels very cold! The sun is shining and the day is bright, but does feel quite cold.
My carpenter put in 2 new closet doors on Friday. He did the finishing work - sprayed with lacquer, which is giving off fumes as it continues to dry. I would have brushed on polyurethane, but don't have the time right now. So I have windows open.

What is on my list today?
Exercise class - will probably be skipped
call dental insurance
make dental appointment for 2 root canals (oh my)
Call health insurance plan for information
Trip to Walmart or Walgreens to use benefit from insurance
Trip to Menards to buy potting soil - I may try starting some flower seeds; and found 2 items that need to be returned whe I cleaned the car Saturday.
What if I made a food plan? Would that help me to lose weight?

LOL, Ontario is sneaky that way, Gma. It doesn't go as far north as you would expect, as Hudson Bay took a big chunk out of it. But southern Ontario goes a lot further south than you would expect, following the great lakes. For the most part, you would be safe in assuming that Canada is further north than you.
And speaking of sneaky, that spring weather will get us every time. Sorry that winter came back.
The last time I spoke to my db, I laughed to hear that his garbage can is in ice jail. He can't bring it down to the road because one of the wheels is completely covered over in a block of ice. His next pickup was in two weeks, and I assured him that at this time of year, ice jail doesn't normally last more than a week and a half.

I have put dishes away, started salmon cooking for Germane, and opened a can of First Mate dog food. Apparently, First Mate, which was yuck last week, is once again first class and Go! should go.

Dogged, you’re 2 main highways (most of the way) and only 23 hours drive from me. Road trip.
I’m glad you got your phone communicating again. Otherwise it’s just a pricey paperweight lol.
Love the LM Montgomery quote, and all of her books. They are very calming plus humorous. Maybe I will read them this summer.

Thanks for the Benadryl offer, I’ll see if it gets better in the next day. He sticks his face in briars to retrieve the ball rather than wait for me, he rolls in whatever, that’s why I’m thinking an allergy reaction for now.
We set up the traps when we had chickens, the wildlife would take them, idk why we continue when we have one turkey left and they eat his food and leave him alone. It’s not like we will catch them all. Maybe he just wants to thin out the big daddies. Of course I want to protect the turkey, not sure if the trap helps much or not. When I see an animal in the trap I usually let it go unless it’s mean or sick.

KitKat, the birds can be fun and relaxing to watch.

I love horses (not sure they like me) but have only ridden twice. The first time in elementary school, the saddle was loose and I slowly rolled off. The second time I was grown, riding with a skilled friend, the guide thought we both knew how to ride so when my horse shot off toward the barns while walking along a trail he was laughing and my friend was shouting “she doesn’t know how to ride”. And the time my girls were young and we took them to ride therapy horses and no one told me the fence was electric and I leaned on it. I’m good thanks.

Finished some sit down time, paper chores. Time to get cracking. Giddy up.

Bama, the first time I saw an electric fence, I went and put my hand on it to see what it would feel like--twice. I was an adult. I came back to the car and said "I don't see how that would stop a cow." My friend replied "If you want the cow's experience, take off your shoes, lick your nose and put your nose on the fence." I didn't try that, LOL.
I laughed to picture that slow slide of the saddle, though I'm sure that it wasn't funny at the time.

I only did 15 minutes but need to sit down again. It was hauling the big bags of rice and flour around to put them away. I still need to find a bin that has room for the small bag of whole wheat flour that I bought, but that will require pulling out the carts from the walk-in closet, so I will put that together with filling the dw.

Germane's salmon has finished cooking, and it's delicious!
