Good morning!
Thanks for the start trissie ! Also for the link you shared yesterday:) I did not get back in time to thank you.
Love the Mark Twain quote... My dfriend and I used to share quotes from a Mark Twain calendar all the time.
Can't believe it's April already.

Kittykatt - glad to hear Freddie is back where he belongs on his way to healing. I'm sure today is a better day for you.
I hope you get the right meds for the bite wound.

Tacos- finally, helia! I saw your post about the jog- WTG!

Our weather just turned once more... Luckily, I covered those poor pansies:)
Today's high is only 7 C but, apparently, we'll reach 23 on Friday (then, 5 by Monday)
Still, it's progress. No snow or ice.

Today; I think I'm skipping yoga - my back is misbehaving and I need to get things done in here.
I'm picking up DGD from school - then she is staying with me.

Starting MR.

Sigh…. We got organized and out the door to go do DD33’s bloodwork for her physical and despite trying 4 times they couldn’t get blood so we are headed back to do it tomorrow. They claim she was too dehydrated but she had at least 56 oz of water yesterday. We push water every day so we’ll see. I guess she can drink in the morning until we get the bloodwork done.

☀️Good morning!

Thanks for the informative start, trissie, and the mark twain quote. Wellies came in handy when we had chickens, although they were generic and not name brand.

Kittykatt, poor Freddie has been through it. Hope he’s enjoying lots of soft foods and cuddles (as he chooses) today. I have 3 hard carriers that only open on one end. They’re old and not very big. I got smart and purchased a book bag type carrier and most everyone is easier to place in, plus they can see through the mesh part, and it has held up well so far. It’s easier to carry but I do worry that if a large dog were to become aggressive that the cats could be harmed since the sides are soft. So I keep it tucked next to my body.

Love the shems.

Helia, a busy week for you.

Kitkat, hope the flowers survive. Good that you recognize when your body needs rest.

LAnn, yikes on the multiple sticks. I hope they swapped out after 2x and let someone else try. But that’s still a lot. Poor dd becoming a pin cushion.

Dogged, I enjoy seeing you but understand you need a day off from posting. Hope your plans for today are all going well.

I’m up and attem. Ready for a new month and all the chores required to keep this home functioning. I tried Cacique table cream with some strawberries for breakfast and it was delicious.

Kittykatt, that was a great description of how you get an uncooperative cat into a cat carrier. Poor Freddie! I expect that his mouth is sore today, but that he already feels somewhat better for having bad teeth removed. I had half of Germane's teeth out a few years ago, and it's amazing how their gums harden. She eats kibble like it's no problem.
Yikes on your infection! Hopefully the nurse takes it in the spirit that you are the person who was on the spot when the bite happened, so you are offering information about it that would not have been immediately available to them.

helia, feel free to express your feelings about your very busy schedule here. Keeping up with you would flatten me, LOL. Enjoy this evening.

We have a similar forecast, kitkat, though with rain forecast every day to ensure that we don't go out and enjoy it. It looks like good weather for sugaring off. So far it's been too cold during the days.

Oh, (((L.Ann))), frustrating for you and I can't imagine how frustrating for your DD33.

I know that it is dangerous for me to post my goals as I usually do the opposite, but here goes:
To Do:
shower/wash hair
laundry? if started early enough
Online lecture about Canadian wildfires starting around supper time
While it's on, the launch for our first moon mission in over fifty years will start, so I'll try to get that going on my laptop while I am watching the lecture on my main screen.

For those who are interested, the first launch attempt is today between 6:24 p.m. to 8:24 p.m. ET. We are currently in DST, so that starts at 10:24 UTC. You can find a livestream link by searching on "artemis II launch livestream". Some of you might find it easiest to watch the European Space Agency's web site. I'll probably watch via CBC.

Wednesday
Heart pill for dog. Picked up food and set alarm.
Cleaned up after dog
Started to CUOP
Got distracted by how annoyingly Windows had arranged the icons on my taskbar. I was blaming the space assigned for widgets that I had turned off.
Did a bit of research online and found that it was an alignment problem. Easy fix.
Checked out info about today’s moon mission launch

Oops, I see that Bama has arrived while I have been blathering on. Good to see you!
German's alarm has just gone off, which means that I have been sitting here for an hour. Time to get up and get busy.

Happy Wednesday!

kittykatt, hoping the eczema will go away quickly!
helia, do you prefer cheddar or american? or i have some blue cheese around! I could not be as social as you are!
kitkat, I listened to Mark Twain's Life on Mississippi last year and I adored his comment about how journalists are surprised by weather every year :-)
L.Ann, yikes about them not being able to drink water... I have the same problem, and I've been told to drink at least two glasses about 30-60 minutes before the bloodwork.
Bama, wellies are a kids' staple for camping here :-)
Things done are things done, even if they were not on the list, Dogged!

Home from work. Friday and Monday are bank holidays and I really need that long weekend! The forecast is good, so the garden is going to get a lot of attention. I may even plan our first BBQ of the season! :-)

TaDas
- morning madness
- day at work
- Tesco run
- pick up DBD
- talk with neighbours

ToDos
- morning routine
- clean kitchen
- start dinner

LAnn - frustrating - I'm sure. ((())). She is not on diuretics, is she? Better luck tomorrow!
Dogged the wind is miserable: straight from the north. I need to wash my hair, too.
Bama
hopefully, dog owners can control their own dogs. Alternative: just sit in the car and get the receptionist to call you when they have a room ready. (My personal preference. Less stress for all).
trissie exciting - first bbq!

Not much to show for my morning:
we did our walk ( wind was nasty)
did brief coffee with DD
finalized my menu for Friday
(only took a week...)
packed up box for Purolator (old receiver to return)
e-mailed Dfriend for holidays...
tried on tracksuit I had ordered.
I still have not taken my meds

Next:
take meds
shopping list
take down clothing from hallway.

Thanks for the launch info Dogged.

Cheers for long weekends trissie.

KitKat, looks like you’ve achieved a lot to me.
I haven’t had a bad experience at the vet with a cat although I have seen “excited dogs” when my dogs were with me and I had to hold mine away, but my mind goes there, always prepared for the worst case …

List updated. Continuing on.

Bama- mine was "that excited dog" once she reached adolescence ... Excited - not agressive. She wanted to get close to many dogs. (can't say every dog). I did not allow on leash interactions b/c a) trainer advised against it, b) I'm bad at untangling leashes, c) I don't want a negative interaction. So, I have worked for about a year to be able to pass a dog on a street without pulling/lunging or occasionally barking. (On occasion, she managed to get close, and it was obvious that she wants to play)
Today, we walked by a dog going the opposite way, maybe 5-6 feet apart. All she did was look, then looked back at me without changing her pace. HUGE progress!

Best to be prepared though. No doubt.

I am all sparkly clean. I won't get the laundry into the same state today, unless the launch goes off in the early part of their window of opportunity and the lecture is not much more than an hour. I can get the delicates organized into laundry bags in the meantime.

I lost track of the fact that I haven't eaten breakfast yet. While I was giving Germane her treat, I absentmindedly popped a piece of her fish into my mouth. I looked down to see her staring at me like "Not cool, bro." I gave her a couple of more pieces.

trissie, one of my favourites is "Always do right. It will delight some people and astonish the rest." Even his chosen name was a great joke.
Hooray for a long weekend to look forward to!

My windsock trees look pretty still, kitkat, so I think that we have been spared the wind.
I should be doing the same as you; packing up Freedom's modem and router to return.
WTG on your great progress on good dog citizenship!

Bama, you are wise to be prepared for the possibility that other people don't have their pets under control.

L.Ann, I can't imagine how hard it is for your DD, needing to have blood tests but its being so hard to draw the blood.

Off to rustle up some food that is not slated for the dog, LOL.
