I'm afraid this day has not been well-spent.
Talk about the best laid plans of mice and men...

Dmom called before yoga time to tell me that she just didn't think she could make it to the movie, that I should just go ahead and do whatever I wanted. If she had to wait till it came out on cable tv, that was fine.
I had slept pretty well, since I finally remembered to try Mucinex, but felt I rest was more important than yoga -- so I texted that group and went back to sleep.
Around 11:00 a.m., I woke up, still feeling kinda draggy, and saw that I needed to sign checks at church. I finally got dressed (no makeup) and did that and went to the post office.
Back home, and I just have not felt like doing anything. I don't mind going to the movies alone, but I just didn't feel like it. I haven't read today OR yesterday's papers, the towels are still piled on the couch waiting to be folded, there's a couple more loads that need to be washed, and WHB is a figment of my imagination.
I texted the two ladies who come to Bible study class and told them I didn't want to be Typhoid Mary, so I should probably stay home. They have both replied that they are fine with skipping tonight also.

I made a doctor's appt for next week, because the doctor said I had not been there in over a year, and he needs to see me to continue my meds.
Then I called back and wanted to see him today because of this cough -- they said they don't have anything till Friday, and they suggested I go to urgent care and get "swabbed for everything." I may give in a do that tomorrow. I haven't taken my temperature, but I'm hot one minute and cold the next. (This is sorta an ongoing thing, though, since I stopped the hormone meds.)

Anyway -- that's why I'm quieter than usual.

Plus, dgs had to come home from school today -- stomach upset (both directions). I called and talked to him for a little while too. He didn't sound too perky.

Oh, Twins... IKWYM... focus with dh underfoot. OTOH... I do miss that too.

Yesterday I heard about a friend (not a close friend, that is why it is a surprise) who has remarried. Her husband passed away less than a year ago.
I just can't imagine jumping back into a relationship that quickly. I know everyone grieves differently, and I pray they will be happy, but at this point, I really don't want to live with anyone -- not a man, not my mother, not even dgs -- who seems best suited to my way of life, LOL.
My dsisil, who was widowed 11 years before remarrying, says that people should date through all four seasons. In hindsight, I wish dh and I had done that. I had known him for over 3 years when we married, but we had only "dated" 6 months. And he had only associated with my parents 5 months! And because I felt so nervous, because I didn't think my dad liked him, I never included him in any family activities! That was a mistake. I didn't even invite him in after dates to talk to my parents! I should have let my dad get to know him better, and I should have seen him in more family situations. I spent time with his family, but never the other way around.

Y'all -- I was about to order the cough spray CostumeLady recommended, but it is not covered by the Amazon Prime shipping -- I mean, if I get free shipping, it will not arrive until next week! Why is that? I thought Prime was getting me 2-day delivery on everything.

(((Twins))) I have a LOT of ancient crowns. I know the future probably holds lots of replacements for me. I do not have dental insurance, but I may add it on when I see how much my Medicare costs are going to be.

(((Harriet))) I am TERRIFIED of cataract surgery -- I meant to give you a big POTB when you were talking about it the other day -- the quick panic of having to do it while you were fully awake. (And here I am, dreading a nasal swab... smh...)
I hope colors settle down for you soon, and that you are back to 100%!

Waving to all -- hope you all have a good evening. I probably need to eat but I am not especially hungry.
Tomorrow is another day.

I'm upstairs now for the genealogy webinar that I had forgotten about. Dh went out to sit by the firepit, not sure if he's going to build a fire or not. By the time this is done, I'm not going to want to go out, but it's a nice evening. Just a hint of a chill and the sun is setting. We have an amazing view of the mountains west of us and the sun setting over them.

Dinner was great, dh did a great job grilling the lamb chops.

Tapping my toe....waiting to be connected...still waiting...

Tomorrow I only have my workout. Dcleaning lady texted and will come on Friday morning instead.

Putting a photo of our view and firepit area in Members only...it's there, let me know if it doesn't work.

lucylee, I'm so sorry you are this sick. I've been thinking of telling a few things in J and C and will try to get that done tonight. Could help as you consider that it may not be so bad a prospect.

Mystery, it does NOT happen to the average person at all. it happens when there are very large doses of steroids - HRH's for the kidney treatments were so large they could only be given in hospital setting with an actual room and bed. Mine were under that, but still bad. Only one of his eyes' cataract surgeries turned out successfully, but we have high hopes that both of mine can.

Mystery, congrats on the finish for the nightstand! How cool are bookends? 8-) I have several favorite sets, with stories of their own.

Cathy, isn't it great to have company come and feel confident about the house? Also confident that even the smaller occupants make a good impression.
