Helia and Dogged, that's a very interesting conversation about the young people today and their work ethic and opportunities. Most of my friends have (grown up) kids , some doing really well in their lives by their mid 20s (in a stable relationship with someone kind, stable and also hard working, they usually have a house/flat, cat/ dog (no grandkids yet!)) and it doesn't seem to make any difference whether they went to university or not. What does seem to be the underlying factor is that they all had a stable , loving, home life, with parents who were "present" for them, and who also taught them life skills, and expected them to pick up after themselves, help with the housework/ cooking/ laundry etc from an early age. Compared with Dnextdoorneighbour D's not so DS, who is about the same age as M, and has no idea how to cook, do laundry or even empty a bin. (Yes, he still lives at home. When his Mum goes away, he just uses Deliveroo to order in.

I watered in the nematodes this afternoon and managed to hang the predator mite sachets near the fuchsias. I remembered I needed to make flapjack for the Y this week, so that's done. I've prepped lunch for tomorrow and made coffee cake.
