Dh and I both laid down for some "reading" time, but I didn't read for long. I think I slept on and off. Dh is watching the golf again. He watched a couple of other things after he got up.

I just did not feel like going anywhere today.

today I slept in until 9, haven't slept in that late in years. I was supposed to be at the field at 10 for volunteering, I was late, home to an online conference at 12, stuff to do in afternoon. Was supposed to have my friend come over this evening but youngest called in sick so.....this evening I have more non profit volunteer stuff to do

So I drove a Hybrid Honda CR-V and the comparable Acura RDX, basically the same car. Acura doesn't have a hybrid but I think is supposed to have hybrid in October. The Honda CR-V is more my style - I'm not much of a luxury car person, and I like the better gas mileage in the Honda. The Honda is also more intuitive to me since I've been driving a Pilot for 19 years. OTOH, the Acura is a little more powerful and I kinda like the luxury of it. I suspect I'll end up with the Honda but not ready just yet.

I hate making vehicle decisions. There is no perfect vehicle that fits everyone needs so it seems to be a choice of having a vehicle with more pros than cons. When I realized yesterday that DD14 will be driving this summer, that brought up the need to get her a vehicle. Ugh. DD14 has many wonderful qualities and abilities but she is not self-aware. AT ALL. She has minimum situational awareness and no clue where she is or how to get somewhere. Those things just doesn't register with her. I don't know if we can make it happen with more active effort and repetition.

Perfect vehicle? Hmmm... .. My perfect vehicle is a 2010 soft blue (silver blue?) Taurus that has been driven by a little gray-haired lady ( ) for several of those years. It knows that it is as powerful as the police cars of the same stripe, but does not brag. When it can get the pollen washed off, it looks like it could be somewhere within a decade of years of similar body styles, and it has the special feature of a disappeared payment book. The trunk is messy, but I forgive that, knowing how it's not the car's fault.

atlantic flyer, so nice to hear that you are finding opportunities to do some volunteer work. Hope the sickness in your household doesn't last long. Come hang out here any time. We'd love to get the scoop on how things are going.

Yes, vehicle decisions are hard. My car, at nine years only has 77K miles on it. Another case of a gray-haired lady who doesn't go out much. But we do take it to the beach and I do some road trips for research now and then. And dh loves to shop new cars until I decide on something, then he's all "we're not getting it unless we negotiate for blah blah blah..."

I hate it when something I order on Amazon and use and like is suddenly not available, which often means discontinued. I've used Biolage Full Density Thickening Shampoo for several years and buy the super large bottle and use the pump in the shower. Ah, I see now it's been replaced with the more expensive Biolage Full Rescue Shampoo.

The same thing happened to my CeraVe body wash for dry skin. Now it's CeraVe Body Wash with Salicylic Acid. I'm not sure my skin would hold up to it. I'm trying a Dove Body Wash with Pump Sensitive Skin now. I really liked the CeraVe, tho.

Cathy it is chilly here still, 8 celcious today but most of snow is gone

Lady M that is young to get license, kids need to be 16 here to get beginners. Do you need to buy her a car right away? Maybe share the family car until she is more mature?

perfect car hmmm. Right now I drive a 2015 KIa, youngest a 2018 kia, we go back and forth between them. My favourite car is a volvo, I drove my late husbands volvo until it had over 350 000 km then gifted it to my oldest how totaled it on black ice, it had over 400 000 km by then, volvos are way too expensive for me to buy a used one. I am not sold on EVs in our climate and not many charging stations. I live in an apartment so can't have a charging unit installed. I could drive a hybrid but they are too expensive even used. Kias are good hard working cars, both of ours are sedans, I am too short for a SUV and to be honest don't need one
