I'm having a different type of Sunday than I normally do, but all is going as smoothly as can be.

I saw a couple of questions directed toward me earlier but I was on the go and couldn't stop to answer.

RE: - teenagers cooking. yes they do cook dishes and meals. They are gradually becoming more independent in the planning, purchasing and preparing of meals. However, the bulk of the 3 P's (planning, purchasing and preparing) meals remains with me. I don't mind it because it is something that I enjoy doing. I am way more particular than the teens with ingredients & portions that I eat.

RE: DD14 driving & a vehicle for her. In our state, 15 years olds can get learners permit (after taking a drivers education class) to drive with an adult in the car until they are 16 years old and able to drive alone. I like they have a year to be monitored & mentored as they learn and experience the rules of the road. We don't have any form of public transportation here. Everyone drives a car or has someone drive them. DD14 will need her own vehicle. We can get it now while she is learning to drive or later when she can drive alone. If I let DD14 drive my vehicle there is a high probability that it will be damaged as she is learning. If that happens then what do I drive? i would immediately have to go buy another vehicle for myself. The thought of being without a vehicle and having to quickly get another one stresses me out. I have put out the "word" to family and friends that we are looking for a good used vehicle for DD14. There is no hurry to purchase one for her but hopefully over the next few months one will become available. Anyone have an extra vehicle equipped with plenty of safety features & air bags they want to sell? I'm not opposed to it having roll bars, extra bumpers, etc. Oh yeah...it also needs good gps. Self driving would be a bonus.
DS17 learned to drive starting at a young age on our tractor when we lived on the farm. He gradually progressed with his driving skills with learning on atv, side-by-sides, and go carts in the pasture. We live in town now so DD14 doesn't have those opportunities.

Came by to say hi and answer Cathy questions about the birds. They took flight a week ago and stayed around some of the roof tops near here for a few days

I just spent some time removing their nest and cleaning the ledge where they were. Nasty job that needed to be done, but I didn’t mind it. Sweetie and I enjoyed watching the entire process from building their nest to flying away

I’ve been busy going to needed appointments and thing that needed to be done around the home. Had to call the a/c guy and most all my electrical outlets… 7 of them… quit working. Plus I had computer and printer problems do to our new internet provider. I was not amused.

I have two loads of laundry to fold. When the a/c went out… the floaters were bad… it flooded my laundry room so that was a bunch of fun.

Twins, I have sensitive dry skin (currently more sensitive and drier and more eczema prone than usual, due to side effects from a recent vaccine ) and I find the Doublebase range is really calming and soothing and moisturising.

I'm currently using the flare protect emollient on my face, with just a SPF50 mineral sunscreen (Clinique) on top.

I also tried Epimax, but I think I may be sensitive to the preservative in it, as my face started feeling as if it was stinging.

Today has been church, coffee with DF E 100yo,.lunch at home with DH, a little in my garden, and some time sorting through photos while watching Poirot.

All litter boxes have been deep cleaned.

Dh said he was going to have a shower today. I've been holding off on the laundry until I get the 2 dirty towels and 3 facecloths.

Supper is cooking. We are having the last cottage roll from the freezer. I will make boiled potatoes, carrots and cabbage to go with the meat.

Dh requested blackberries for dessert, so those are out of thee freezer as well. I took out some Canadian strawberries for me.

Dh was reading on the bed, so I joined him for a short while. Now I want to read, but I don't want to go on the bed because I will fall asleep.

It's been raining here all afternoon.

Hello to AFlyer! So good to have you back!

Well, the satellite dish is successfully relocated, on a pole, approx 5-6 feet high. And the satellite man provided the pole, of course. He agreed that the foreign person I was talking to was crazy — that it was not my responsibility to supply ANYTHING, and he certainly didn’t want to be 20 feet in the air if I HAD managed to get the pole.
Still SMH. Probably this person had feet and meters mixed up.
I’m not crazy about the pole, but I guess I will get used to it. I told dgrands that ballgames are being relocated to the pasture. They were getting too strong anyway — wild pitches and foul balls were getting waaay too close to windows.

Church was fine…

I am now waiting for a man to bring a dumpster for the roofers. I don’t know when to expect him.
Dgd is here and she and I have played, but I’m about ready to take her home.

DS17 and a friend went to do some errands & shopping in the city. I've requested they bring home some tacos for everyone.
Also asked they bring my daily drink to me because i can't get DH out right now and I can't leave him alone.

DH just tried to put his phone into his tea jar. Thankfully the top of the jar was too small, and his phone wouldn't fit or it would have ruined his phone.
Earlier he was trying to test his blood sugar by using an old flip phone. He couldn't get the blood test strips to go into the flip phone. I helped him test his blood sugar using the correct equipment and it was fine (122)
He managed to turn on the TV but hasn't selected a channel. He is content to watch the screen saver.
He is currently using toenail clippers to cut holes in a paper towel. Snip. Snip. Snip.
I decided to get a laundry basket and fill it with clean (and formerly folded) dish towels. I've asked him to fold them for me please.
Busy work to keep him occupied

Scanned the horzion and there are dark clouds it's sunny here at the moment.
That's going to change or the rains could go around us.
I did the dishes earlier.

Have been intentionally resting today.
I did up the dishes earlier.
Made out my D's list for Mon. & basic weekly plan list for next week as well.
Dinner is thawing and I'll pop it in the oven in a bit.

Did some yarn crafting.

As soon as the golf was finished, dh said he was heading for his shower. Now I can check that off. As soon as he's out, I will grab all the towels and facecloths and put them into the washer and turn it on.

Then I will put today's dishes into the dishwasher. I have 2 large pots to wash. I really want to get them done tonight.

Guess what? I just spent about an hour on photos. All the FOLDERS, not the photos themselves, but the folders from Shutterfly or Wmart or wherever, are now in chronological order and they are filling two large shoeboxes. These are the photos from 2012-present. However, some photos from 2012-2014 are actually in chronological order in ALBUMS. So you see a problem here -- an overlap that may be somewhat chaotic. You may remember, dgs was born in 2012, ddad died in 2013, dmil died in 2014, and this may account for the chaos in my organization. OTOH -- I did retire in 2013, so this should have been something I could do with all my "free" time. LOL.
There is also a box of photos that are in no particular order at all, some from dinlaws (I think), some school photos, some photos from historical Facebook posts of nearby sites that have been torn down, just a big mish-mash.
I also discovered photos of tombstones and dutifully put them in the tombstone album. That sounds kinda morbid, maybe, but dh and ds always shared a great interest in ancestry and documenting such sites.

Anyway... do not praise me too much -- these shoeboxes, etc, are now sitting on my fireplace hearth and I am still debating how to continue this obsession with photos. I currently have 35 photos albums and 4 boxes of various sizes -- plus EEEK -- I just found another photo folder that says "June - December" and does not note the YEAR.
There are also two shoebox size boxes in my computer room, which have ONLY photos from the Grand Ole Opry -- entertainers through all the various years -- 44 years of attending the Opry twice a year, you know.

It's kinda ridiculous, isn't it?

I REALLY love having albums to flip through, rather than loose pictures... but this is becoming insane.
I saw a photo box that says it holds 1600 photos. These albums hold 300 max, I think. Sooo... I am considering going through the albums, starting at the very first... 1979... and saving only the BEST, IMPORTANT photos there... and using boxes for the others. (Meanwhile culling the blurry images and duplicates, possibly.) I mean... seriously, how many pictures of ds with a banjo do I actually HAVE to have to remember different shows?

But at least I have accomplished something tonight. Roofers may have me out of bed early-early in the morning. I think I'm going to go color my hair now. It is only 11:10.

Hair color in... I will get in the shower and rinse it out and take a bedtime shower when time is up. Right now I'm having a low blood sugar attack, so I am eating a tangerine and some pb crackers.

Y'all, I know you have told me to bite my tongue and stop worrying about it, it's not my circus... but y'all... I was over at ds' house for a minute today, taking dgd home... I mean, there is not a flat surface in that house that is not covered with piles of stuff. Just all kinds of stuff. I do not know how they live with all that clutter... laundry piles, dirty dishes, I don't know what all. Not one person in that household cares one bit about being organized or tidy -- except ds when it comes to his computer files. He is METICULOUS with everything he does related to music or athletics. Otherwise, all four of them are just "whatever" about anything that comes along.
I guess I just have to keep reminding myself of something dgd said this weekend.
She was looking at Facebook with me, and we came along an ad for some app. It said, "A clean home is a happy home."
I said, "You see that?"
She said, "That's not true. I have a happy home." That's all that matters, isn't it?

OTOH... a new family joined the church today. They have a son the same age as dgs. I"m going to put some of this in J&C.
