Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
Another fine looking chicken breed! Thank you Kitty! WTG decluttering the shoe rack. I think I could do that with ours as well.
I'm glad Germane ate last night and agreed to a little beautification, Doggedly.
We have bugs flying around here too, kitkat. It is a mystery where they come from so quickly after recent chilly temperatures.
I didn't get back here yesterday. It turns out that 4 hours in a row being "on" in the classroom and then in in-person meetings where I was either actively taking notes and sharing or actively discussing things in a one-on-one meeting is a lot for me. I was tired by the time I got home from payroll around 3pm. Dh didn't want to attend the church plant BS in the evening, which was fine with me. A 6pm start time is really hard to make, and dh once again had a 5 pm meeting that meant he would be late and wouldn't have eaten dinner. Do the other people leave work early? How do they do it? After dinner and dinner clean up, I did a bunch of little tasks. I wanted to post them last night, but time was going quickly and I just went to bed. I'll post now - just bc I want to. LOL! After dinner and clean up last night, I:
- tried on clothes and checked out with Stitch Fix -- not that I need more clothes--but I have them now
- checked in with CG and SS
- payroll: had messaging convo with AC and looked at a test section with her; I will change some Qs on a listening test this afternoon (she made this test; LH is asking for changes)
- payroll: checked in with 2 teachers re: R exams; one has requested changes, which I'll do first thing today
- payroll: reminded Ss that their final drafts were due at midnight - this morning, I'm still missing 2
- looked up our usual hiking route in the Porcupine Mountains, wrote up route and best site #s, and shared with S2 per her request
- researched a little and ordered a new laptop (MacBook) after I spilled 1/2 a glass of diet soda on the keyboard yesterday afternoon.
It's actually working fine; the track pad is very slightly glitchy - better this morning but still slightly glitchy. I'm actually very impressed with how robust this little machine is. I've had this one for many many years, and getting a new one was on my todo list anyway. I just fast forwarded it.
- added on face products to the order since dh is now using mine
- duolingo lessons
- updated health apps, more or less
Today, I have the KS2J get together with friends at a coffee shop at 10 a.m. It's usually a little shorter when it's at a coffee shop. That's good as I have a lot of payroll to do today, AND I'd like to jog. And we're watching Fable tonight. I need to get groceries as well. Payroll must dos: edit AR exam, edit IL exam, grade final drafts, grade practice tests (if any are turned in). Payroll ideals: work ahead on S4 set up.
It is warm today, 66F now and a forecast high of 79F (26.1C). Gray, though. I'll need to jog earlier in the afternoon bc it will get too hot. Can't believe I'm actually writing that. . . Yes, winter is over!

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
It has been total chaos here already this morning. The new range is being delivered this afternoon so first thing I did was clear off the old one and empty the drawer, pull it out from the wall, and find all kinds of stuff Daisy has pushed underneath. Poured some floor cleaner and must have hit the outlet as it sparked, we have at least 5 kitchen breakers, turned them all off and it was still hot. Had to call dh. Apparently the range breaker is outside. Whyyyy. It’s off now, the area is cleaned up, I put a call in to an electrician to fix the wiring (the box has been hanging for awhile now but I forget about it when it’s hidden by the stove) and now I wait for a phone call from the electrician and the delivery people. Can’t work the coffee maker now, breakers off, so grabbed a Diet Coke, turned out to be cherry Diet Coke which I don’t really care for, and some cold Chinese food for breakfast. I had to go back to Thursday to find my list. This whole weekend has been crazy. Now I’m starting over and working down my list.

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
I wish that turkey were economical here, Kittykatt! Pork was on sale for $2/lb. The turkey thighs were $9 and I'm guessing that they were about a pound in total. You can see why I was so excited that day that I found duck priced like chicken.
My little gourmet is awake and has an appetite. She is accepting pieces of turkey and diced carrots, but potato will find itself on the floor.
I forgot to wrap the turkey thigh in cheesecloth, so I'm going to have to strain the slow cooker and pick out the bones. I'll do that once it's cooled.
kitkat, take it easy and get well.
Rain seems to be the order of the day, as we are getting our share here too. I'm happy that I got my errands done yesterday.
How rude of your neighbour to mow their lawn without consulting Freddie, Kittykatt.
I am at the end of page 1. Time to do something.
Tuesday
Gave Germane her heart pill.
Set alarm for one hour
Picked up Germane’s food
Set up the coffee maker
Cleaned up after dog
Unplugged slow cooker
Put away dry dishes
Sampled the carrots and potatoes from slow cooker. They are delicious!
Shared with Germane. She ate her carrots but I found the potato on the floor

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
So true, kitkat. We ought to get a Get Outside Free card for spring, but the bugs don't play that way.
helia, we are happy to cheer on your accomplishments, whenever you get them done.
Yikes on your keyboard, but at least it happened when you were planning to replace the laptop anyway.
Hooray for free money, L.Ann.
A lovely new stove, Bama, but all of those side quests to get to it!

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
I hate to admit that it’s nice that bugs pester everyone regardless of climate but I’m glad I’m not alone in the bug invasions.
Am I in some sort of game, Dogged, I wouldn’t be surprised to find someone is making these things happen lol.
I’ve updated my list. Going to walk the dogs and eat a quick something. It’s almost 1pm which puts me in the window of stove delivery and I will be done with have tos.

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
The track pad on my laptop now seems perfectly fine. Hmm.... I guess I didn't need a new one after all? Except this machine is getting old, like maybe close to 10 years. ish.
I hope you get the electricity in your kitchen back soon, Bama. That sounds like a crazy start to your day. Yay for being done with have tos!
You and Germane both look beautiful, Doggedly.
If it's this warm here today, I can only imagine how warm it is in your area, L Ann.

I finally asked if she was planning to work with the law firm or not. And if not, does she have all the info she needs? Of note: Lawyer is in Illinois where many of my mom's accounts and her house are. They have the original will and trust documents. Dbro is living in the house, but it's still part of the trust. The trustee of my parents' trust is in Kansas where my mom's farmland is. I'm in Michigan.
- wrote out menu plan for the week - really M-W
- small Kroger order placed
- reclaimed kitchen

I finally asked if she was planning to work with the law firm or not. And if not, does she have all the info she needs? Of note: Lawyer is in Illinois where many of my mom's accounts and her house are. They have the original will and trust documents. Dbro is living in the house, but it's still part of the trust. The trustee of my parents' trust is in Kansas where my mom's farmland is. I'm in Michigan.

Re: Tomaru Chicken Tuesday
They do say that misery loves company, Bama, LOL. I've had tiny gnats in the apartment most of the winter, since I brought plants home.
Big WTG on being ready for the delivery. The house didn't make it easy for you!
LOL, I wish, helia. Germane looks neglected but it's because she fights against having her eyes and face cleaned and trimmed, and I hate to upset her. So this loved little dog walks around looking like nobody cares about her.
Woo hoo on getting your trackpad working again.
I'm sorry about the problems with your dmother's estate. That executor is certainly not making your life easier!
Tuesday
Gave Germane her heart pill.
Set alarm for one hour
Picked up Germane’s food
Set up the coffee maker
Cleaned up after dog
Unplugged slow cooker
Put away dry dishes
Sampled the carrots and potatoes from slow cooker. They are delicious!
Shared with Germane. She ate her carrots but I found the potato on the floor
Mini grooming session for Germane. Non-consensual.
Spiffed self. I was more cooperative than she was.
Checked into upcoming concert. It’s next week, I haven’t heard back from the friend who was going to organize the tickets and the main area only has single tickets so we wouldn’t be able to sit together anyway. Bought my ticket and messaged my friend.
Sorted delicates into laundry bags
