Good morning

We have Neil D music playing. For me, that is almost the perfect blend of upbeat soft rock with a tad of jazz.

We are celebrating becoming parents for the first time on this day 52 years ago. We gave DS52 an early morning phone call and sang him Happy Birthday.

My otherwise typical morning happenings have been mostly on track. DS17 and DD14 have been successfully launched to work and school.

My project today is to hopefully finish Sam's yard. I'll use the chain saw trimming two more trees and then get those branches hauled off. There is one corner of that part of the yard that has a raised flower bed that has been abandoned and just has grass growing. It needs some extra attention to spiff it up.

Thank you for opening our wonderful village today LadyM!!

All compost, garbage and recycling have been picked up already. I took a car load of stuff to my favourite thrift store today. Now my car is almost empty again!

I also picked up 2 frozen entrees on my way home. Dh will have a General Tao's chicken and I will have pad Thai chicken.

Dishwasher has been emptied and dish rack also got emptied.

I was up before 6 a.m. after a rough night's sleep, so a siesta is planned this afternoon.

Lots activities have been accomplished already in the village today. YES, to taking a well-deserved nap later.

I ordered graduation gift for DNephew. I usually gift money but his mom created an amazon list for his collage room. That made it sorta fun to pick out his gifts. Although I spent twice as much as I would normally give as cash. That seems like a Win! Win! way to do it. Joy for me. Extra for DNephew.

DH and I teamed up to do monthly maintenance on aerobic septic system. It is only 2 tasks that take less than 10 minutes. Clean out around the compressor and cover. Add bleach. Done.

Hello!

I am so proud of myself — it occurred to me that I could use the mortar and pestle to break up the beef bouillon that had caked up, and it worked beautifully! And dinner is in the crockpot (the reason for needing beef bouillon). So I have those to celebrate, along with redoing my cards, which is what I spent yesterday doing.

Waving to Bama, whom I see peeking in!

Happy birthing day to LadyM!

Congrats to Cathy, making so much stuff disappear! 🪄

Envying Nancy her night without the heat on. We may reach that point soon. After a couple of days in the 30s, our lows for the next week are predicted to be in the 40s (a bit below 10C, for those who prefer).

A brief spell on the treadmill is next up — I should have done it before coming here, but my body had had enough standing with working in the kitchen. After that, lunch.

Debating when/whether to wake DC. We have already reached “Good Mornternoon,” but it is the beginning of their vacation. They may have wanted to go back to campus today to see friends — they had a game party yesterday, but I don’t know if they have any plans today. Also debating when to ask them how long they have been broken up with their girlfriend. They haven’t said they’re broken up, but DC didn’t see GF at all over their spring break; GF didn’t come to DC’s play, and DC hasn’t been wearing the necklace GF got her in quite a while. DC has always played their cards close to the vest romantically.

I am so proud of myself
BWTG Mystery!

I've done my time with the weedeater and mower for today. I might do more later, but everything is starting to get caught up so there isn't an urgency. I did trim a tree but not the trees in Sam's yards so those trees are still patiently waiting for me.

Lunch is Xtreme tortilla filled with rotisserie chicken, lettuce, and picante sauce. These tortillas are the only bread type thing I can eat that don't make my body hurt. They have modified wheat starch...whatever that is.... I prefer to eat cleaner ingredients, but these tortillas keep finding their way back into my meals. It is so easy to make a wrap with random ingredients.

Well I made it to my drumming class this morning which I love!

Yesterday Sweetie left a rake hidden in the bushes and I found it. By that I mean when I walked out the door my foot got tangled in it and I fell face first into the ground.

Think a face planting fall. Thankfully the grass is thick cause otherwise I would have be heading to the ER with at least a broken nose.

I am sore but not as bad as I thought I would be!

Anyway I’m home from the library and just finished my lunch. Since it’s Thursday I need to start my laundry.

It’s 93* here and the rest of the week will be the same. Remind me why I moved from the desert heat to this jungle with temps are this high and the humidity is higher 🤣

I didn't get much of siesta. No sleep at all between 2 of the cats and dh. I did get some "rest" kind of. The house was quiet and I laid in bed scrolling on my phone and reading my book.

Dh did the adult thing today and went and saw a "neighbour" and apologized to him (as far as I know. Dh hasn't told me anything yet, but he will at some point.)

I moved the paperwork from the left side of my desk yesterday and put it in thee 2025/26 basket.

RamblinRose I hope you are okay.

Oh, yippee... we have "mixed precipitation" in the forecast for this weekend. So happy we haven't started anything in the gardens yet. I hope it melts before it hits the ground.

Dh and I are supposed to go see his dmom on Saturday. Apparently meeting at a donut shop near her home would be better than going to her house. Her dog (a schnoodle?) is worse with other people coming into their house than it used to be. It constantly barks, whines, whimpers and has a high pitched squeal while people are in the house (including running around and generally misbehaving) and after the person leaves, she carries on for quite a while. So DMIL wants to meet up with us somewhere public. This dog was brought into their house as a puppy during the beginning of Covid and only interacted with DMIL and DSISIL for at least the first 2 years of her life. They even had someone come in to try to train this dog to behave better with other humans around. DMIL says her neighbours complain about how the dog carries on. So... at least we will be seeing her and celebrating Mother's Day with her.
