Hello, all. I have been quite lazy the past couple of days so not posting much. But I wanted to jump in here and let you know that I'm fine, just lazy, LOL. Yesterday I spent a LOT of time online researching office chairs and I found the unicorn. It has separate back and lumbar support sections, it has movable arms for support and to get them out of the way, it has a head rest and foot rest and it reclines and--get this--rocks! I will finally have a rocking chair.

I came back from my db's house convinced that I need to get serious about getting better support from the chair that I spend almost all of my time in. One day I'd like to have an easy chair like his, but there's no room for it for the foreseeable future.

I didn't get laundry done yesterday because the machines on my floor and the basement were both in use, and I didn't feel like going from floor to floor. If I can use the machines on my floor, I'm going to get the laundry going before I spiff myself. (I will be dressed, LOL) If I have to go on the elevators, I'll come back and get cleaned up first, and try to wake Germane for her heart pill.

I haven't CUOP'd properly, but Bama I did see some references to the issues that you are having in getting the proper support for your dh. (((Hugs))) to you both in having to deal with that. I hope that your dfamily can rally around you to help you with that.

Has L.Ann gone to Hawaii yet, kitkat? We got a frost warning the other night, which is totally cheating after Victoria Day! WTG on getting two walks done already. Enjoy your reading.

I had to go to the basement, but I got two loads of laundry going. I really couldn't afford to skip a week. I got behind on laundry due to my vacation, and I can only do two loads at a time because of the limits on drying space.

Friday
Put on a pot of coffee
Cleaned up after dog
Picked up dog’s food
Heart pill for Germane
Started two loads of laundry

I realized yesterday that one of the things I miss about my mother is that she ALWAYS wanted to know what I was doing - so when I cut up a sprouting potato, planted it, and returned to my house, I had no one to tell. Just a little thing. Tomorrow is her 102 birthday. I have ordered flowers - picking them up this afternoon as the florist is closed tomorrow and for the Memorial day weekend - that will be altar flowers in church on Sunday.
My she-friends here listen well too :D Thanks
It's very cool and rainy here today - I was going to mow, but it's too wet.
Been to the bank to set up an account to manage the insurance money from hail damage we had a month ago at her house.
Everyone seems to be amazed at how much I have to do, and apparently get done. I tend to just recognize all that must be done (never ending!), not on what I accomplish, because it seems so little.
trissie, so good to get the charity stuff in the car so it's ready to be dropped off!

Right now I have chicken thighs on the stove cooking for soup, then I will cook asparagus and blend them together. DfEK who had surgery on her esophagus needs very soft (think pureed) foods until the incision heals, and I am preferring soft things with minimal chewing while my root canal heals, so I will make a big batch and share with her.
I'm making very good progress on the shawl I am making for GT, young lady at church. Probably won't be done by this Sunday, but maybe next. It's going very fast!
Since I have to be inside, I'm thinking clearing off the clutter/ papers on teh K table, maybe doing some filing, would be good indoor activities.

Gma, we ARE interested in all that you do. I, for one, have not lived on the prairies since the 1960's except for a few months in the 70's, and it's been almost ten years since I have lived in a house. You may laugh, but while I was in the basement I spotted the flowers waiting to be planted and I went over and had a good look at the lot. It's like a way of staying connected to a part of life that we no longer participate in. In some cases, we get a glimpse into a life or culture that we have never been part of.

Aw, thanks, trissie. I love being retired so much, but I am painfully aware retirement is a sort of lottery system. Other people work just as hard and try just as hard to make the right decisions, but being born to a different generation or in a different country etc. might never see their chance. So I don't like rubbing it in.
I have had that gas that feels like a heart attack and it is very weird. When it passed, I felt the gas move so I understood what it was. As soon as that happened, all of the symptoms disappeared except the fatigue, which was no doubt from worry and being in pain.
You have gotten so much done, that I'm not surprised that you feel like packing it in for the day!

Friday
Put on a pot of coffee
Cleaned up after dog
Picked up dog’s food
Heart pill for Germane
Started two loads of laundry
Checked on status of order
Fed Germane
Flipped laundry

We have an excellent forecast until tomorrow night, so I'm going to sneak my balcony drying rack outside to let some of the laundry dry in the sun.

Gma ((())) - of course you miss dmom. She was such a huge part of your life , very helpful when she could... I always loved reading about your shopping together:), about the seasonal decorations... And, moms are always interested in our little things, and big ones - more than anyone else.

Dogged - frost IS rare post- Victoria day!
Thought of your little dog as I watched a young lady working in a smoothie shop, petting a little Pomeranian. I kept watching her after pup left...
Waited to see whether she'd wash her hands or if she'd return to serving customers. Well... she touched a few things, talked to co-workers, then remembered. She went to the sink, rinsed her hands (no soap) and returned to work. (You know that I love dogs, right? but this is too much)

Pain in the esophagus feels much like angina. However, cold (ice) water relieves it.

Did a DC in my fitness basket
laid out still damp laundry
ate
Reading turned into a nap

Back at it

I'm with you, kitkat. I love my dog but I don't imagine that she is as clean as my food.
That is a good tip about the cold water. If it happens again, I will try that.

Time to head down and get the laundry from the dryer.
