Good morning :)
Another fine sunny day!

Thanks for yet another cup of tea and a start, trissie, although White Tea was never my "thing".
I saw your achievement yesterday: putting together IKEA furniture is not always easy...
Kittykatt thanks for the explanation. It is something I need to do for my pup.... although she'd go to family. However, I would need to set aside some funds for the purpose.
I loved the Confucius wisdom.

Today:
we must go for our walk (while I can)
class
Car (maintenance) appt.
deal with anthills
laundry (at least one load)
cook mushrooms (my acquisition from the market)

I know I'm forgetting something...

That's a very true SHEM, trissie. I laughed out loud. I have had white tea before - maybe at J's place; she is Taiwanese American and always has interesting Asian teas.
Yes, good idea to be dressed when the roofer shows up, Kitty. And. . . did he reply that he'd like to come look at it "right now"?

It is another beautiful summer morning! The sun is shining and I can hear bird calls through the living room window which is slightly ajar. I checked the weather website - LOTS of sunshine for the foreseeable future with a lot of rain on Saturday. Highs are 83F - 88F (28.3C - 31.1C) for the next 10 days. That's a bit far out so who knows what the reality will actually be next week. That seems warm for us this time of year - but we will all enjoy it! ☀️

Last night, dh and I ate dinner on the patio. It was very pleasant. A couple chipmunks ran around near us and there were wild turkeys roaming our neighbor's property - and later in our yard. Always wild turkeys here. LOL! After clean up, we put the garbage, recycling, and compost at the curb. Then, I read the introductory blurb + outline of the analysis of the first biblical passage of dh's proposed book. Grammar was awful but dh told me not to edit that. Overall gist and ideas - stellar and very interesting!! I also updated my work EPT availability calendar so I wouldn't get EPTs at times I'm not available.

Today, I need to be home 12-2 to pay the tree guys who will finally cut up and take away the tree that fell during the tornado storm we had a while ago. Dh has asked them to take down another small half-dead tree on our property - I'm not sure which one. Probably in the forested area. I need to make good progress in many areas of life: payroll, laundry, more groceries, working ahead on houseguest prep for next week. I think I'll pick up the high chair we're borrowing from the Cs today - before they leave on a trip tomorrow. Dinner will be chicken lettuce wraps and fresh mango! Dh leaves after dinner for an overnight work trip.

I will start my day by jogging the hill.

Next:
- back exercises
- jog the hill
- s2s and self care

Later:
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- some qt
- groc. list
- WF

Hello, KitKat and Helia!

Enjoy your sunny weather, KitKat. We have patches of blue sky appearing, so I'm going to venture into the garden after lunch.

Helia, dinner on the patio sounded lovely! No, the roofer didn't want to come round and look "right now", :D partly because he knows our house well, and partly, I think, because Painter J made a very professional and informative video with a voiceover, showing exactly what problems he had discovered, and where, which I sent to L, so it was effectively one professional taking to another professional, rather than me saying, "Well, there's a bit missing on the left hand side, about 3 tiles up, and it looks a bit wonky towards the top..."

While I was typing this L replied -he wants scaffolding (sigh!) and will the neighbours be ok? Replied they should be ok. I think Dnextdoorneighbour D may not be entirely happy, but only small bits have fallen out so far, so she probably hasn't really noticed. (They don't go out in their garden much, except to sit in the sun). If she's at all unwilling, I'll say we want to get it done well before the winter storms, as if it deteriorates further, larger bits could fall out and damage her roof, or even hit someone when they were walking underneath, and I'm worried about her 3 year old niece when she comes to visit. (All technically true and possible, even if somewhat unlikely in the near future!)

And, several WhatsApp messages later ... I've agreed L's quote, and the house is now booked in for August / September.😀

I am seriously hoping that this is the final job that will need doing on the house this year!

Morning all. Yay for organizing the roofing job kittykat. I take it your roofing is not shingles?

Borrowing a high chair helian? Is baby I coming for a visit? Always so fun. I found a high chair on Facebook marketplace for like 30 dollars. Lil j uses it occasionally now and then when dd comes they don't have to bring one. I know there's gonna be more grandkids too. I can't see either couple stopping at 1. Your kids probably don't come very often unless the girls find partners yet. But you inspire me. Need to work on FaceTime with dd she's too far away.

Eating outside would be lovely. But for the mosquitoes. I seriously don't know how... I thought there weren't many. They came out full force the last couple days. The air is thick with swarms. Eeewwww...

Today. Hmm. It looks like rain again. We do need it. Our creek is barely running already. I might plant anyway. Unless it pours too hard. Most of it is just putting plants in the beds and garden. I have pots and a mini cover for the peppers and cucumber. Tomato plants flat in the garden I'm gonna try. And petunias and Alyssum marigolds etc in the beds.

So ds can go to school.. maybe I will do something outside first off. Or shopping first but I was also contemplating going to church to work on piano a bit. We've renovated our meeting room and made it bigger with some furniture. We can do our ladies group there now.

Lots to do. Time to properly start.

I am up early, but late to the party again! Page 2 already. :)

trissie, thank you for starting us off. I have never heard of white tea, but my knowledge of tea is pretty limited.

You have a point, Kittykatt. My doctor hasn't seen our winter yet. You might have him back by January.

Thank you for the reminder, kitkat. I have some mushrooms in the fridge that need to be used.

helia, I wanted to mention to you that Hudson & Rex has been renewed for another season, and they are bringing back Rex's original handler.

Woo hoo on getting the roof repair sorted, Kittykatt!

Good morning, L.Ann.
