Dh took his blood sugar reading just before I got up. It's just above the safe zone, but not in the dangerously high zone.
I was going to cancel my lunch "date" with a friend, but now I don't have to. I can leave dh for 6 hours. This friend loves to go to Oakville which is half way between Niagara Falls and Toronto. They live just east of Oakville and they don't want to drive "all the way" to Niagara.
I have taken out the kitchen garbage and I have one litter box to clean before I go out.
I have had a small piece of chocolate and now I am enjoying my hot tea.

Good morning, Cathy. Be safe and enjoy your trip and lunch.
Nice to hear you are enjoying your yoga and breezy outdoor self-care, lucylee.
My anti-procrastination will center in the studio. It's not only the Focus Cleaning space of the week (office or other room), it's where I can work on the project I had to put on hold to let my eyes recuperate and also just get used to my eyes.
Happily, after needing a magnifying glass to thread the sewing machine's needle, simple reading glasses worked like a charm for the actual use of the machine. I almost forget I am wearing the reading glasses there.
I've finished the second long line of quilting. So, on to a little more tedious work.
Next up,
Kiwi for first breakfast
spif the kitchen
make us a healthy brunch to share
answer message from tech

Good morning
I'm thankful for a good night sleep resulting in feeling refreshed and ready to start another day.
Last night I spent a couple hours on the phone with DS52 as he was helping to move our financial accounts around. Some things couldn't be done online so we will be talking in person with those today.
Update on DS17 friend Trae. The courts have deferred any charges. A deferral is generally used as a "second chance" for first-time or low-level offenders. Trae spent the weekend in jail but doesn't have anything on his record. He has a mugshot that was posted on local FB groups so he has to deal with everyone knowing. Overall, this is probably the best outcome he could have from the stupid decision to drink & drive. Hopefully this will just be a bad memory in his teenage years and he goes forward with better decisions.

Got the diff. cord in the pj's project.
Counts for sewing as I prepped it yesterday.

I also go through spurts of unsubscribing from emails but I do get way too many.
Today might be the day I work on swapping sides for my two monitors, and moving the laptop to the side to have more room on the desk. I run both monitors off the laptop and it's been propped in front of me - need the camera for Zoom, but I can move it back as needed. Right now I'm wanting to get this room upstairs cleaned back up. I've let it go again.
Trying to get HOA accounts squared away for June.

Those 3 accomplished and more.
DH bathroom 3 door mirrored medicine cabinet was a target of decluttering today. I did it recently with the focus on removing any tube that he might mistakenly use for toothpaste. Today my goal in decluttering was to remove 50% of the items in those cabinets & shelves. Why am I so surprised how much STUFF can accumulate? I filled a WMart bag with items removed. Some of the items were put in the medicine tubs, some items put in the personal care tubs (anyone need an extra dozen hair combs?) with the rest of the items being thrown away.
More decluttering happened with the key box. Yesterday DS17 and I were looking for the generator key and it was buried among about a hundred of other keys, carabines and key rings. This morning I emptied the tub and piled everything into categories then started the decluttering process. About 50% of that box was decluttered with the remaining items being organized.
The Ford dealership called to let us know they will be replacing the door VIN on the 25 pickup. A person from the factory will be flying here to do it because it must be done by that person. Thankfully they are taking this serious and will hopefully get it settled. A part of me wants to know how this VIN mix-up could happen at the factory, but my bandwidth is full so don't have the mental energy, time or focus to spend on it.
Doing small things. Repeat frequently.

** Daily LOL into the dryer
** Cook chicken
** call to get maintenance scheduled for the generator
** Measure existing kitchen light fixtures so the replacement search can start

Re: Anti-procrastination Wednesday June 24, 2026
I managed to swap monitors but not sure if I'm going to like it. I have to enlarge the size of the windows in the what is now the left monitor - the one I use most for just online stuff and writing. OTOH I can easily split the screen on the larger of the two, now on the right. I find that the smaller monitor is at a better height for me and the larger can't seem to be adjusted for height. (It may be for gaming but it's what dh and ds purchased for me and it's huge.) I'm not doing the cord tidy up until I'm sure I'm leaving it this way.
I need some creative time but need to straighten up that desk. I'm also going ahead in planner into July, which has snuck up on me. And I have a pile of papers on this (research/writing/genealogy) desk that I'd like to deal with. So I'm puttering up here but swapping the monitors has been on my mind for awhile.

Other than bumper-to-bumper traffic for the first 45 minutes of our drive back to here, we had a very good time. I dropped my friend off where she parked he car and I had a lovely, peaceful ride home from there.
Before I left home this morning I did the only litter box requiring attention. Dh had his coffee and meds. When I got home I checked his sugar. He said he was fine. The little machine told us differently. He had some orange juice and now he's back up from the danger zone. He drove over to another mechanic's shop to say hi this morning.

Doing small things.
Phone calls made to find someone to work on the whole house generator. I found out that electricians won't touch it. Seems it is another highly specialize craft. Plumbers won't touch a septic system - must be a septic company. Electricians won't touch a generator - must be a generator company. ANYway, found a company in the next county that has agreed to make the drive here.
Waiting for a call back from handyman to visit with about repairing the shed.
Kitchen lights have been measured, researched, selected and ordered. They should arrive Friday. Hum....I wonder if the handyman can also replace the 3 kitchen lights plus a ceiling fan/light on the other side of the kitchen bar. I'll chat with him about that when he comes to see the shed repairs.
Getting these things repaired is a PITA. I'm trying to not think too much about it and just do the next small thing.
