LadyM found that she needed to ask others to Step Up, and now her ds is grooming her lawn to his careful standards - what a good outcome.
Maybe you're surprised to find that there's a gap in your own responsibilities that you missed and you need to Step Up. Or maybe delegation is a wise call on some responsibility right now. Or working with someone, in order to teach and/or in order to make quick work of it. Is there some chore or need that is OMM for you? Ponder whether it is you or someone else who might Step Up and make the most difference.

Re: Step Up Saturday
Thank you for starting us off on this sunny Saturday Harriet.
I have been going slowly and steadily this morning. I am doing litter boxes (all 3) and the kitchen compost has been taken out along with the garbage from the bathroom. I have been seriously contemplating getting a cleaning company to come in once a month because I would love it if the entire house was all clean all at the same time. I can't do more than I am already doing. Dh can't do much any more. He has trouble carrying anything from the fridge to the table or the table to the sink. He can't help his condition and I need to be more watchful with what I ask him to do.
On the other hand, I told our weed whacker guy that dh no longer wants him to come over to whack our weeds. I had to go to this guy's work because dh claims he sent this guy "texts" and "emails". Dh has had a hard time with the right terminology for these ways of communicating electronically. Weed whacker guy said he hasn't had any texts or messages or calls from dh in months. I looked on dh's phone a few days ago and he hasn't been in touch with this guy by texts or phone calls at all in over a year. We think we have found someone else and I will be in touch with them on Monday.
I need to get up and keep slowly and steadily working at basic things. I want to get some cross stitching done today.
Later,,,
Another litter box is done. I also brought in the two boxes of disposable underwear for dh that have been in my car for a few days. I might even bring in the huge bag of cat litter from the truck at some point today. I have shut all the windows and blinds/curtains and turned on all the fans and window A/C units. It's going to be hot later and there isn't a cloud in the sky right now. First load of laundry is in the dryer. I have another load waiting in the washer. I need to strip the bed after dh gets up. I need to empty the dishwasher. I have emptied the dish rack. If nothing else, I would love to get the entire kitchen cleaned before I go to bed tomorrow night. Fingers crossed for that outcome.

Re: Step Up Saturday
I have been up and we got some steps in on our walk.
I noticed as I put out apples ten per bag each morning 50 this week were all gone.
I got the last ready to go this weekend.
Also saw two quail families and baby quail around too!
That made my walk worth it.
Had bfast.
I've been working on my at & journals.
Got the hose moved to mow in a bit.
Waving to everyone.
-----
On a break I waited till 9 to mow.
I will mow at 8 next week.
77 feels like 81* and it was only part in the shade.
Hydration is happening now.
-----
Bathed ddoggo before her Rx
Doggo is mostly dry and can come back inside again now.

Re: Step Up Saturday
Good morning
I am moving slow this morning as my body is letting me know that it remembers the extra work done yesterday. It is a good kinda of hurting.
I've checked all the local restaurants/food trucks to see if anyone is open today. Most are closed as they are taking vacations. I did find a one of our favorite food trucks will be at the Noodling Tournament today. I have no interest in watching the noodling (I think they are a bit nuts to do it!) but we might attend just for the food. We will see how it goes.
In the meantime, I've cooked tuna patties, sweet teriyaki chicken and French toast sticks this morning. It might be a weird combination, but it works for us.

Re: Step Up Saturday
Thank you Harriet for stepping up and getting our corner of the village up and moving!
I stepped up to two laps with ddog this a.m. It's hot. I'm needing more than 7K steps today so I thought I'd get in two laps while weather was okay. We're supposed to have t storms - getting rain right now in fact.

Re: Step Up Saturday
Hello, all!
Oh, goodness, delegating! That is a problem of mine. At my last therapy session, my therapist suggested asking myself the question, "What am I going to delegate today?" I am horrible about delegating around here. I feel like if I'm not doing it all, I'm not doing my job. But I need to remember that my kids are adults, and they should at least be doing what would be expected of roommates.
Glad your storms were only scary, Harriet!
I'm sorry your DH is in such poor shape, Cathy. It must be hard on you both that there's so much he can't do.
Look at Nancy, tending her orchard!
I had to look up noodling, LadyM. I could see where that might be a useful skill if you were desperate to feed yourself, but deliberately letting a fish bite you so you can grab it is not my idea of a good time. ("Ha! You think you've caught me -- well, I've caught you!")
And look at Twins getting her steps in!
BWTG, all of you! I have not done much productive this morning except that I did wash the breakfast dishes and I spent time working on the embroidery. Probably too much time, but I'm getting tantalizingly close to finishing the first item. Just 7 more leaves to go! I'm having lunch right now. It's taking forever because I just don't have the appetite to finish a normal lunch (salad & sandwich). I don't usually do sandwiches -- I'll have to remember to make half of one next time. The Wegovy is kicking my appetite way back. The starting dose got me from hungry most of the time to "I could eat." I'd like to get to, "Thanks, I'm good," but this dose is taking me to where I find food unappealing sometimes.
Once I'm done with lunch, it'll be time to prepare for tonight's girls' night. I couldn't get one good-sized loaf of sourdough at the store yesterday, so I got two loaves that are smaller than I'd like. I'll have to see how much dip the recipe makes so I know whether to fill one loaf and use the other for extra dipping bread or fill both loaves. I'd like to get a load of wash done, but getting ready for girls' night takes priority. We're starting at 5:30, and I'm picking up dfriend K along the way.
Have a great day, everyone!

Out on errands all by myself today. Waiting at one now. What a difference. So glad to be more self sufficient.

I went to "knitting". I spent around 3 hours there and now I am home. While I was gone dh tried to do the dishes. I thanked him. He apologized for doing them. I told him I was happy he did them.
Almost time to start supper.

Re: Step Up Saturday
We went on a mini adventure to the noodling tournament and brought home 6 meals from our favorite food truck. While waiting on the food, DH enjoyed talking with everyone and catching several different 30-40 lb catfish with his hands that was swimming around in a cattle trough. They asked if I wanted to do it, but I declined. Why would I volunteer to stick my hand down a big fish mouth and let it bite me so I can lift it up out of the water? NO, thank you! I am sooo out of my comfort zone with the thought of doing that. Many noodlers stick their feet into caves and let the big fish clamp onto their leg or hang upside down with someone holding onto their feet as they stick their entire body in a underwater hole to deliberately get bitten by big fish. There are many things I might try in life, but I do not ever see me doing that!
DS17 has decided that he is going to rebuild the shed. Uhm....I'm not sure how this is going to turn out but hopefully he will learn some life skills in the process. He is at the home depot buying supples. Multiple 2"x4", screws, bolts, and a $450 impact drill. Is that really necessary to repair a metal shed? >>>shrugging shoulders<<<<

Re: Step Up Saturday
I was wondering what Noodling was and then I saw your picture on FBook. No thanks, not something I would want to do.
Later...
The bedsheets and mattress pads and everything have all been washed and the bed is completely remade and ready for my head to hit the pillows. Zzz...
