As Mystery said last evening, one MUST stop at the lemonade stands in life!

And Happy Birthday to Mystery's dc.

I've been here for a while and have scooted around our village maybe 15 different directions/clicks, each time having no trouble. So, I am hopeful our recent troubles are over. Not completely convinced since a few hours before, trissie was saying she had a hard time.

I had to log in after a few tries.
I posted on FB group info. for my in my area & county.
I will put here again.

Yesterday the court house was having inner-net issues when I went there at 8 a.m. said in 2 hrs. or later come back.
No too hot I decided to wait till next week that task was not urgent.
Then later in the day power co. put up a warning of possible power outages b/c of the red flag fire & fire danger.
Prob. not my area, it's further out in the out laying areas at least hoping it's not me.
So that's what's going on here.

Me I took a rest day yesterday.
Today journaled on deck after watering.
Up early
no bfast yet. X
Need to walk ddoggo some. X

Cooler temps yea! 67* /92* F. here.
No plans yet just taking it as it comes.
I do need to get the sheets out of the dryer.

Happy Birthing Day wishes to Mystery and Happy Birthday wishes to her DC.

RR posted on FB group this morning that she still can't get in the SHE forum. I continue to get error messages about 2/3 of the time I try. I just keep hitting refresh until it finally lets me see the forum. Harriet - Thank you for staying on top of this frustration. Hopefully it will pass soon, and we can return to our normal access.

I am thrilled to have a day with nothing on the calendar. This gives me a chance to stay up with my chosen hourly doings.

CI / Did three tasks.
Sheets are out of the dryer and put away.
Pre-washed an item & it's soaking now.
Got my next segment of steps in.
Put away my shoes.

I've been thinking about back to school room dig out and clean up de-cluttering for kids.
We used to go thought clothes at the end of the season and weed out ones that no longer fit.
Make cut - offs of jeans for summer.
That helped.
What did you all do.
I had to make a back to school card of fees, lunches, pics. etc
and prep. stuff for supplies too it probably went in the budget section.

What happens when I am not over scheduled?

I take time to go down rabbit holes looking at recipes I've never heard of. Who knew about Tom & Jerry batter?

And I think about nonsense things like....
You are given $2M and you 60 minutes to spend it. You cannot buy a car, house, yacht, plane, or stocks. What are you buying?

I slept in this morning, until almost 10:30. No idea it was so late but the house was quiet, we had a light rain coming down, and it was overcast out. I must have needed it? I've been so stressed this week, but I hate it that the day seems so short if I sleep in so late. I just finished my brunch. Ddog got two laps walking earlier. She slept in with me.

Over Thursday and Friday, a dcousin kept calling with upset (not my circus). HRH couldn't understand me being so calm and understanding about the interruptions, which he felt were unnecessary and over-reactive. We had recently watched a delightful old "My Favorite Martian" episode on tv. Dub Taylor guest starred (remember him?), and his character had a lot of nutty misunderstanding in his household. He kept a cheerful attitude, listened to craziness, and just kept commenting, "Why fight it?" So, I've been trying to just think of Dub and say, "Why fight it?" and listen patiently when others have fluster.

Nancy,, I would change the daily routine card for summer. Although I've never been an hour-by-hour scheduler for the whole day, I'd make out a new card for a calmer, no-school-bus-at-dawn summertime, then ramp back up with a school-days card to start up in autumn. Speaking of dig-out, my ds' bedroom was always, as our British friends would say, "a tip". I don't know how he functioned in it, really. Second child, and I guess I just threw my hands up and let him figure out the method-to-his-madness. Now he's the closest thing to a minimalist of anyone I know.

LadyM, that's all I'm on top of . Hanging out here while on the phone now. I just keep reporting on the types of screens we are getting. The work I can do is mostly waiting through the recorded muzak. Which is jazz, heavy on the bass fiddle - actually would work well for housework accompaniment, good beat, easy to dance to. Now, "Down By the Riverside" on the trumpet. Dixieland, Ragtime. Player piano sound. A rep told me yesterday these problems like we're having come in "waves". I was so sure in early May that we had gotten a lasting fix.

I've been thinking about back to school room dig out and clean up de-cluttering for kids

DD50 and I have made a plan in jello to declutter DD15 bedroom & bathroom on Monday. DD15 doesn't like change and is not eager to do this. DD50 is leading the charge on getting it done and I'm a willing observer. Astra is in puppy mode where anything available is subject to be chewed on regardless how many chew toys she has. Clearing out the STUFF and giving Astra less things to destroy might influence DD15 to be okay with the decluttering.

For the first time in years, I have very little to do in preparing for back to school. The biggest change is there are no homeschool curriculum to choose and no lessons to plan. There are only 3 items on DD15 public school supply list ($50 fee, boxes of Kleenex, and container of disinfectant wipes). She already has the backpack she loves and wants to use it this year. She has refused to shop for new clothes and insist she doesn't need anything. I'll put $100 on her school lunch account when we pick up her school class schedule Tuesday evening. Getting ready for school this year is totally easy peasy!

Thank you for the input on back to school routines and ideas.
This just made me think of an idea sports stuff...
DD mentioned that Dgd had taken care of her own cheer uniform things with her earnings
from the coffee shop DD was delighted to learn of that!

I am envious of all the fun supplies book bags etc. but realize I'm not in that season any longer.
I did get 4 comp. notebooks.
I keep extra pens on hand for journals as I color code them.

Have had a quicker snack-y type lunch.
Ddoggo is napping now.

I watched a how to quilt block vid. next I need to find the name of the one
I want / need to learn.
