Morning everyone! The rest of your August looks busy, helian! A relaxed morning sounds lovely, Trissie. I love that show, GMA. On one of the anniversaries of 911 we saw a movie at the theater about the making of the movie which had real people from the plane and took place in the town. It ended with them going to see the premiere of the show on Broadway. Hi Dogged and kittykatt.

L Ann, do you already have your Christmas card ordered?
I hope the party was fun, trissie! It looks like you're planning another vacation. We're in Avignon for 4 nights which is a remarkably long time for us to stay in one place. Dh doesn't like to stay put for very long. I hope we do get to the bridge, perhaps on Tuesday. We're traveling to Toulon tomorrow to visit a friend.

We toured the Palace of the Popes today. That was very very interesting. I hadn't known before that the papacy was in Avignon for 70? years - and then there were 2 popes for a while, one in Rome and one in Avignon.

After we walked through the palace, we found lunch at a small cafe' that served -- Mexican-ish food, of all things. LOL! Dh wanted to eat there. He got a huge beautiful latte as well.

We're taking the later afternoons off to relax and hide in our air conditioned apartment. We'll venture out again for dinner. This is a nice rhythm! I have tidied the kitchen, made the bed, and have the 2nd load of laundry going. The first is hung on a rack and drying on the rooftop terrace - in the hot sun.

I'm glad that you are enjoying your vacation and relaxing, helia. You must let us know whether you danced on the bridge, LOL.
That is interesting about the two popes. I guess it worked because communication was slow and uncertain. Nowadays there would be a minute-by-minute report on how two infallible popes were saying conflicting things.

We are better off here, L.Ann. It's not that hot, mostly just humid. Last night it was cool, but felt like we were walking in a poorly ventilated bathroom, LOL. I hope that it cools down for you when the sun starts to go down.
