Where do you find your own decluttering inspiration?
Is it ever on a screen - a show or DIY, tutorial?
When I happened across a video from new-to-me folks called "Midwest Magic Cleaning" this week that was mostly declutter IMO (and just an ordinary home, not hoarding), I noticed and appreciated that there can be some inspiration in a quick "show" like that. It offers "before" and "after" of somebody else, which is valuable. (This one was just one kitchen and dining area of a home, and the topic was that the first step to do to get unstuck is to stand up, lol - kind of funny.)
Maybe it's because a visual of someone else is completely different, so you are reminded that:
1) everybody has clutter - you are not alone and your house is not odd or hopeless in any way
2) it doesn't have to be a big deal. Perception may be that it's a lot, and it may be, but, broken down, it becomes do-able.
3) getting inspired to declutter doesn't have to be negative. It can be a cheery moment, you could put it to music, lol.
Do you get any enjoyment or help from watching shows or DIY type helps that visually change clutter? Is that satisfying to see, or even entertaining? Does cheery music help you when decluttering or do you like something else? Maybe you talk to yourself. I do!
Daily De-clutter happened today's mission was books;
One got tossed after some discernment that is was a bad one.
Some are in the shed now might share with others not sure.
In any case I was done with those on to a diff. season now.
This gave me room in the Liv. room book shelf a small one to put some books I am keeping
to be put away yea for progress.
Thanks so much Nancy and blessed, for visual inspiration ideas.
All the pet supplies have been sent away to donation. A bit was able to go to the household of a cousin of HRH's. I'm pleased, although feeling kind of pensive, of course. We had a nice "station" set up from when I went into the planned hospital stay - an automatic feeder. And had a fountain waterer for a long time because we read it was healthy and got pets to drink more. Had recently replaced the carrier, so that's a nice donation. Sent along the relatively new corner Gorilla rug, since I couldn't think of any other use for a triangle one here. Also cans of food, new bag of litter.
Now the mud room and kitchen each have a bit of freed up space, a few feet each.
