I'm so sorry bw2, how sad. I hope she can find some pleasure in helping others too.

Home from workout - not too bad - and I worked hard. Had heart rate to 120 at least once - that qualifies as vigorous intensity - about 80% of max. Went by cemetery and took a couple of gravestone pictures for Find a Grave. I put a brush in my car so I can do some clean up before photographing.

Hmmmph. Dh didn't like my revised letter. He's on his own now, lol.

Cooling down before heading down the street later.

Well, not much notable happenings since last post --
More conversations back and forth with dbil and dsisil -- another call to College Town. Dbil thought that he would owe me the $185 for the one ticket he is selling to his wife's cousin. (They are buying my three plus one of his.) So we cleared that up, confirmed with ticket office, this $6000 we are charged at the end of the year (Dec. 22, 2025) covers our "donation" AND the six tickets.
Well... dbil called back later and said I should just keep that $185; that I did "so much" dealing with these tickets, etc.
Unfortunately, I told him he does a lot keeping up with the condo fees... and he was pretty quick to say, "As long as you think it's fair..."
But I told him OTOH, he IS getting a lot more good out of the condo than I am at this point, but I don't want to do anything different until my dgrands decide where they are going to college. He agreed that at that point I (or we, him and his wife) may decide we want to sell it. When my dgd graduates from high school, dbil will be 82 years old. Football weekends may look different for him by that time, too.

Anyway -- I told him to let me think about it; we'd see how bad I need $185 when the cousin's check gets to me. ;)

I don't want to feel obligated to him, you know.
Hmmmph. Dh didn't like my revised letter. He's on his own now, lol.
Twins, dh used to have me make phone calls, and then have criticism of how I relayed his message to whomever it was he needed to respond to.
I often used a quote from Romeo and Juliet -- the nurse, to Juliet:
"Henceforth, do your messages yourself!"
Tomorrow is another day.

Every thing was done before I left so now I’m just gonna enjoy some free time while I can

I’ve already made Sweetie his dinner and the kitchen is now closed😆

My bird bath for the back yard came. I put it together and filled it with water.
I have a concrete one out front but can not really move it myself.
Glad I have other things coming too.
DD called we had an hour long talk.

I listened to Deep Work by Cal Newport
A seven hour book took a week or so.
I skipped a lot b/c some did not apply to me like tweeting Instagram nope do not do those.
I recommend one of the overviews or book summaries on you tube.
It was a lot of repeat of things I'd read or heard and quite a bit of review esp. at the end.

Here is a link to a summary of it.

I picked a few more tomatoes for a tomato salad to go with my dinner.

quick stop by -

helper went home - gave her hug
waiting for mom to wake from her nap.

I washed dh's bedding - he wasn't thrilled, at all, but he finished them off - It's important to wash his blankets at least every two weeks. he is not happy but it's done.

folded mom's laundry -
I still want to do 5 minutes in the garage and the basement -

Happy Birthday, RR! Dee was always so good about checking our calendar for significant dates way back when. Glad you were able to be out and about with friends.

Loved meeting Poppy. She was a little rattled and I impulsively wanted to rub her soft brown fur so I didn't get a good reaction. But she warmed up and enjoying getting a back rub and rump rub and ear rub. Dfriend M was a little worried about her reaction but I think she's fine - she's less than 24 hours in.

Dh is grilling, places set for our dinner and I need to make the salad.

P.m. routine: what are goals for tomorrow, when dh is out in the p.m. and I have no appointments or commitments. I'd like to have that list of five every p.m. but I haven't been doing that.

RR - Happy Birthday to your friend group. Sounds like a fun outing.

DD15 is running low grade fever (99.6), has a headache and feels blah. No sore throat and no problems with digestion area. Said everyone in her friend group is sick.....but were all at school today. The ones that went to urgent care over the weekend were told it is a virus and will have to run its course. Rest & stay hydrated was the recommendation.

DS18 has decided since he is legal age he is going to join the fire department (volunteer). I reminded him that it is working for free in brutal hot and difficult situations. On call 24/7/365. DS18 reminded me that my dad and both brothers retired from volunteer fire dept and several of my nephews are on fire dept now. I don't know if DS18 is ready for this. We will see how it goes.

DS18 prescriptions was sent to the wrong pharmacy. He asked if I would call and get it straighten up. Should I have refused and made him do it? >>>shrugging shoulders<<< Probably. But he was at work and I was at home, so I made one phone call and got it straighten out for him.
