No, no, no, folks, it's not Monday, we're starting our week on Tuesday! Yesterday was a U.S. and Canadian holiday so we're staring down the week on a mild-mannered Tuesday morning.
There's still plenty to do, the week has four full days for us to enjoy.
This week only, Tuesday is the new Monday.

Hi!
I've been up since 5:30. Dh was up very briefly. I've been puttering around doing quiet jobs. I did some dusting!! Bathroom and kitchen garbage have been taken out. I'm on my second cup of hot tea. PSW should be here soon.

Re: Starting the week on a Tuesday PWYc
I was awake for three hours last night - Couldn't sleep. lol I finally fell asleep at 4:30 and at 5:00 am mom woke up
- I asked for more time and of course she said yes but I fell asleep ever so lightly bc mom kept talking to me and I had to respond.
- mom thought she made dinner, ( it was 5:30 in the evening instead of the morning), and was expecting company. She tried to get out of bed - she is getting stronger.. she was happy to hear that no one was coming over.
today is bathroom work

Re: Starting the week on a Tuesday PWYc
Is Amelia enjoying a walk today, Ramblin'?
Smiling at Twins' Mom's "no, no, no", for just a mild-mannered week. Makes me think, "calm down, week, calm down." lol
It really does seem as though it's a short week so I'm hopeful that Tues, Wed, Thurs offer me normalcy. I have an appt on Friday but it's relatively local. I'm going to try not to let this one dominate the day.
My 5x5 today
Bake brownies?
Gather for trash pickup at oh-dark-thirty tomorrow
Focus - dusting in office, deal with rug in mud room
Declutter 2 closet boxes
Tend to indoor plants
other happenings -
dgd will come by (hence brownies question mark)
keep watering sprouts - looks like a big "crop"
Good morning,
blessed (I lost some of the night, too - hope you can nap, perhaps?) and
Cathy (reminding me I also want to have a cup of green tea today with brunch).

Re: Starting the week on a Tuesday PWYc
hope you can have a nap too d harriet!
what a good 5 x 5 list today - I do like a good brownie - please send us some.
enjoy dgd
starting to feel tired - hoping I can get mom up and walking soon.
d Gracie the dog is retrieving household items - she does that in the morning.
So far she brought me the tv remote, clean towels now unfolded - she pulls them folded and they unfold as she walks towards me, a measuring cup - ? don't know where that came from, a gym shoe from the closet, one of mom's shoes and one of mom's cough drop wrapper. She always brings me my night time bottle of water. oops here she comes with mom's other shoe - I need to close mom's bedroom and the front hall closet.

I have been up a while slept in until five, ddoggo did a soft bark then a bit louder woke me.
Felt rough when I first got up sinus issues. Sun. I rested and sat too much so on Mon. needed
to not repeat that so worked on BWP . Today some things are open I was going to do yesterday.
Then I remembered it was a holiday. Sigh.
I'll let you know how it goes.
But places I want to go are not open yet still...
Did the morning stuff qt coffee etc.
Waving had a great day.

Re: Starting the week on a Tuesday PWYc
Good morning! Thank you for the birthday wishes! I'm not thrilled with the number, but it beats the alternative!
Got up early and dropped DC at school. Last Tuesday, they were at school for half of forever with club meetings, and I had wanted the car after their classes. So I have the car, and when I go pick up DC, I can redeem the offers I have for the gas station near there -- 20¢
off per gallon and a free basic car wash. This gas station is very convenient to the college, so I racked up a bunch of loyalty points, but they don't have a location along my usual non-college routes.
Spent yesterday working on my cards and plan to continue today. Birthday plans are dinner out at the local fancy restaurant and, hopefully, cake. Don't know that there are any presents planned, but I don't really need any more stuff.
Dusting, Cathy! Good for you! I tend to live by (or at least justify myself by) a quote I once read from Mario Buatta, the interior designer who was known as "the prince of chintz" when that was the style: "I like to think of dust as a protective coating for fine furniture."
My furniture is well protected.
Sorry that Harriet and blessed lost sleep. Are you feeling better, Twins?
Laughing at blessed's Gracie. Waving back at Nancy!
Had some drama with DC this weekend. I had previously expressed my trepidation about their plans to go visit their "partner" for a week, missing a week of class. (I use quotes because "partner" usually implies a more serious relationship, but it is what they have settled on since they are both non-binary. I guess "personfriend" (as opposed to girlfriend/boyfriend) doesn't really work.
) Anyhow, I said multiple times that I wanted to see their syllabus. We finally got to it this weekend. DC said, "I don't know what you want to see it for," and I told them I wanted to make sure they weren't going to be missing a test or anything. "Oh, then you don't want the syllabus, you want the schedule." The sobbing that followed seemed to be the sort that indicated not that they had intended to pull the wool over my eyes but rather that they had not even looked at the schedule before this. There is indeed an exam the day before they were planning to come home. So the money that was saved by booking the flight before knowing their class schedule will be spent on change fees. The balance between my letting go and their learning to adult with a severe case of ADD and coping skills that are not quite up to the severity is difficult. It occurs to me that my attempts at teaching them coping skills are just perceived as nagging. Not sure what to do with that.
Ah, well. DD indicates that she is ready to do some driving practice since I have the car, so we will go do that. Then back to my cards for me! Have a great day!
