That's not a lot of time to recover between trips, L.Ann, but I'm sure that it's worth it. :)

Ah, kitkat, you bring back memories of my flooding-the-house washer and my burning-down-the-house dryer that I had in my house. Put me off of refurbs for a very long time. But at least when I gave in and bought new, the new ones worked consistently. I'm sorry that you have to buy a new dryer.
I go to visit my db twice a year. I try to time it outside of summer so that Germane won't be in a solar oven when I have to run in to go to the washroom, but outside of snow season so I'm not driving in a snowstorm. Also outside of tourist season. Quebec City is a very popular place, and the hotels can fill up at weird times of the year.

Tuesday
Heart pill and peanut butter for Germane
Put on a pot of coffee
CUOP

15:
Count Germane’s pills
Pill count:
Heart: 16 - good until Sept. 24
Apoquel: 11 - good until Sept. 29
Benedryl: full bottle
Don't need to order pills until after I return
Cut up a fleece throw for Germane for the trip

Spiffed self
Breakfast for Germane
Put away dry dishes

15 X 2:
Cleaned up after Germane:
Picked up 5 pee pads
Washed floor
Went to put down fresh pee pads and found two more places where she had peed off the edge
Discarded 3 more pee pads
Washed floor
Put down fresh pee pads

Oh, that's good, L.Ann.
I have put a hold on for Mad Mabel with my library, but it's going to be some months before I get it.

15:
Hung fleece throw in Germane’s pen
Set up the foldable latptop table as work surface
Looked for room to work
?
Started papering Germane’s pens with pee pads
Spotted Germane had peed off the edge of the pee pad before the river had time to flow far
Dropped paper towels

15:
Cleaned up after Germane
Spot cleaned floor
Finished papering her pen
Wiped down the laptop table
Moved laptop table into Germane’s pen

Checked forecast, checked resulting solar oven effect in car, checked effect on canvas: cannot move Germane’s travel pen and pee pads into my car now to make transfer to rental car easier

LAnn they are making a movie out of Theo... (I kind of expected that...)
I have not read The Correspondent or Mad Mabel... but will.
I LOVED The Calamity Club! Just recommended it to a friend:)

Quebec City is gorgeous, Dogged! I experienced it in stilettos (I was young and dumb...) - I don't recommend it.

Back from doggie walk. Had a brief nap before. Getting DGD for a bit.

Hello, everyone!

Welcome back, KitKat! I'm glad you had a lovely time with your family. French braids definitely make going back to school special!

L.Ann, garlic lime chicken sounds delicious. I'm on the lookout for some relatively easy weekday meals - I've got into a bit of a rut.

Dogged, thank you! I think I type on my phone because it's with me, and I don't have to worry about whether DH needs to use it (technically we share the house laptop, but I don't think I've ever used the current model!) I can do all I need to do using my phone, including printing (when the printer remembers what its one task in life is!)

Hoping everything is ok with Helia - she's usually here by now.

It's been a good day, even if I did spend it inside. I've decluttered and deep cleaned the hall (which sounds a lot more impressive than it really is!), given the sitting room its weekly clean and spent 15 minutes on paperwork (the first time in months  ). DH had a good time at choral, so I think we've slipped right back into our winter routine for Tuesday. :D
