No way am I organized, Lucile, but I do aspire to have my home in order before I die lol. I found the she group/flylady when I was pregnant with dd21 so that might give you an idea of things here. I got through many rough patches with she advice and kindness. I married a hoarder family, all except the sister have passed, so we have been “blessed” with soooo much stuff it’s unreal. I dread when she passes as we will have to do it all over again and we will be much older to boot. Ugh. I am finally adjusting to being an empty nester so this keeps me busy and the ppp gives me goals to work toward. I seriously doubt I will keep up with a lot of the things in it but maybe… I think I originally bought the ppp because the advertising sucked me in. :P I haven’t really looked at the pages beyond the weekly before, I mostly adjusted the top row of dailies to suit myself, very simple things, so I will try to add a little more for the new year. I would be a mess without the shes but the lists here help so much! I’ve made so many wonderful friends here and on the other boards and made a ton of progress. :) sorry to ramble!

I totally understand! I absolutely LOVE the idea of the PPP planner. I am a little bit addicted to planners and all things that promise organization. I also bought the ADHD planner, which is full of all sorts of lists and plans. Unfortunately, I am not addicted to actually DOING the work.
I've allowed myself this day to rest, with DGS here till 5:00 pm and after we had both been up late last night.
I plan to do better tomorrow.
Tomorrow is another day.

I apologize for not checking autocorrect again lucylee. My phone is bound and determined to rename you Lucile.

I did look at the adhd planner, in fact it may be on my saved list on Amazon or TikTok, but it seemed to be all lists and I need space to journal some too. Good luck with your planning and enjoy your rest today. Rest is just as important as doing. I always need to decompress after socializing.

After almost a third of the new year is gone, a quick report that doing without space in a planner for taking notes is still disappointing.

The lined journals to which I linked on the previous page were a good buy. I gave one to ddil and she loves it, uses it. My own is working well. It's just that there's a big difference between having space to write notes in your planner and needing to find/open a separate book.

Next year, I guess I'll need to go with the disk type that I can control, even though I sort of dread the feeling I have that it will be large, cumbersome, also a bigger commitment.

A stamp of checklist to track 6 daily activities has worked well and doesn't make the planner get all fat like stickers do. Once a week I write in:
Clean
Declutter
Laundry
Sewing
Garden
Exercise

The humble 1.5-inch size paperclip with thin, bright-colored grosgrain ribbon is a little piece of genius, seen somewhere on an online tips list. I can't get it to fray. It's not stiff like wider ribbon. Usually, I love a traditional bookmark to keep my place in a book, but planners are in constant use, so I want something that's hanging on tight.

I'm experimenting for a next-year planner now, because I want to come up with a change.

The features that I couldn't find easily over the last few years (or at least couldn't find together) have made me decide to combine different parts myself. This doesn't turn out to be more expensive - yay - but a little more work. I hope I'll just think of it as creative.

1) Equal space for each day of the week on a weekly 2-page layout (whether it's weekend or weekday, I still live just as much)
2) Space in the weekly layout for tracking with checkmarks - 2-inch by 3-inch works fine
3) Enough note pages - not just a tiny note space to the side of a monthly calendar (I need to jot down more than that)
4) Having the note pages handy between all months, not just at the back of the planner
5) Small enough to fit space I have at my desk, when opened and laying flat, 13 inches wide or less for "A-5" pages.

So then, deciding which kind of binding works for putting different pages together. Disk would work, but it would take buying all new parts and probably a punch. Ring binder works but becomes as much as 17 inches wide when laid open. Spiral, if it's twin-wire and not too many holes, will work - there are videos to show how to take out pages, stack them like you want, then put them back. So I've bought some things to EXPERIMENT with spiral. :ugeek:

There are 15-hole and 16-hole twin-wire spirals, plus lots of other larger numbers like 18, 20-somethings. I want a low number of holes, to make it simpler to change pages. I ordered a 150-sheet (300 page) "A-5" plain lined spiral notebook in college ruled, giving me a good-sized metal spiral to work with, and plenty of extra pages. I ordered a 2027 "A-5" planner with monthly and weekly pages that come the closest to meeting my hopes, and colorful tabs, too. These two match in number of holes - 15.

In my theory ;) I only need to make one created sheet per month, showing a right-hand side of the last half of the last week, and put that in front of the last sheet of each month, to separate months. And then I can put two or three more plain sheets in between. That gives enough note pages for anything I want, 12 times a year. The original of each last half-week page needs to stay because it will have the first of the next month on the other side plus the tab, but I can just "wite-out" or use some stickers, whatever, to cover the day names that won't match anymore.

Harriet -- I admire you for your diligence in trying to put together the perfect planner -- do let us know how it works out. I've heard about people removing and replacing spiral bindings, but I am not brave enough to try it.
