HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNDAY

Post by DeeClutter »

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUNNY!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US YESTERDAY!

Be sure to check J&C if you haven't already!

Been up for over an hour but spent a lot of that trying to submit a rebate for dh. Don't know why it always takes so long to do one of those things.

DH called last night and said DS-R was about to leave to find a rain suit for dgs6 so he can race today even if it rains. I will be praying for him because I don't think he's raced on rain tires before. We'll see......

DDIL walks in the "Making Strides" for breast cancer walk today -it's a really crummy day and temp is only 45 and rainy. Yuk!

Have to go s2s and get ready for church. Means shampooing today -hate messing with my hair when I really want it to look good.

Hate to even think about going out today. It's a good day to stay in and read. Spent a lot of yesterday really arranging my cards. I do seem to accomplish more with them.

I'm off -have a good day!

YGG Dee! Cards are our friend. :D

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUNNY!!!

I am up and mostly on schedule. I relax the time slots on Sunday so it feels like I am having a break from the normal week. Some things get done regardless of the day - food, water, clothes, MPB, etc. I try to focus on priorities and let the other things slide a little on Sunday.

So far this morning -
** Kitchen opened and drinks prepared for the day (coffee & tea for DH and me, sippy cups for LO)
** Bible study, prayers and memorization
** MPB opened and priority AM chores done
** hoses moved to other side of the yard and sprinkler started
** LO up/snuggled and clothes selected for the day
** LOL moved to dryer
** researched some symptom for DBro. Looking for some options that might bring a little relief from them. Found one so will test it on me first before I suggest it to him. :D
** newspaper retrieve from the road and sorted out the throw aways

Next up -
** Prepare breakfast (smoothies)

What kind of smoothies, Okay? Keep looking for some with lower sugar. Can't have that too much.

Dee - we make smoothies using vanilla whey protein powder, milk and frozen berries. Just a minute in the blender and it is done. VERY good and easy (IMHO). I was hestiatant to purchase the whey powder at first because it seemed expensive. However, we have been on the same bag for over 3 months having several meals a week from it, so it has turned out to be a very cost effective/quick meal. I just checked and it has 1 g of sugar per serving (servings are very generous - DH and I split one)

OH! We also make pancake batter from the same whey powder. For someone who hasn't had a "regular" pancake in months.....they are SERIOUSLY good!

Oh, that sounds doable, Okay. 1g of sugar is good! I've heard of the whey protein powder but have always forgotten to research it. Hmmmm.....

Sure, now I'm ready to go it's pouring again. AND my umbrellas are all in the car! Need to make sure I have at least 1 in here.

Smoothie sugars - also if you would like to take sugars out of the equation even more, substitute unsweetened Almond Milk for dairy milk. Almond Milk has zero sugars and 2% milk has 12, so to me that is significant. Honestly, I can't tell the difference in a smoothie - it tastes very good to me, creamy. In fact, even over cereals, I taste the flavor of the cereal, and I guess if I did taste almond slightly it would only make the cereal taste better to me. I've made pudding with unsweetened Almond Milk, or half and half with dairy milk, and the family scoffed it down with nothing but compliments.

Harmony, I completely understand "neither of us are allowed to get sick for another year". HRH has said that here, too, and not that long ago! I was paying $50 on this bill per month, a high-ticket leftover from last year, and I think nobody really noticed us (or others like us) until this sale of the parent company/clinic. They SAID that the 65 offer was made to those who had kept up regular payments, and that those who had not kept up as well were only offered 45 percent. But HRH says that doesn't sound right, because there is NO forgiveness, only collection services. Also, it doesn't sound right to me because some people would have only been paying a short time and certainly wouldn't get a deal. Anyway, even though we did send them a lump sum, I love the feeling of having "less" monthly bills. I have never had a doctor mention a bill - that is considered unprofessional, isn't it? I mean, since the time of taking a pig or chicken for payment, anyway!

Happy Ann. to us! Happy birthday Sunny!
Re: smoothies
I miss smoothies! Having a cyber one to celebrate! (_)

I'm up had realy strange unsettling dreams in the night about not having a plan. My mood is a bit down today.
It rained a bit just before I went to bed, h. moved stuff off the deck. The sun is out again today. No breakfast on the deck. It's a bit cool out any way. H. is not happy we can't travel much so he holed up in the cave yesterday for most of the day. He wanted to go camping but we have granny duty for the next two weeks plus the weather is turning off cold.
My bs is good today! Yea!
Yesterday I got a snail mail letter written to go to mom on Mon. that was great progress I'd been thinking about getting that done for a few days now.

Nancy: You do have a plan. It is a bit of an adventure but it is a plan. You'll be moving, for now, into the trailer and letting the spirit move you to your next point. Not rushing into new decisions is hard to avoid doing, but taking time to breathe, evaluate and intentionally decide your next step will free you in the longer run.

Church went well but ran really late. She finished the sermon at 10:32 and communion at 10:42. The next service starts at 11 (and it is a 7 minute drive) so before communion I went to her and told her I'd leave after communion and start the service on the next side so she could relax and not rush the end of our service. Dh said she still rushed. I just hoped she had a chance to breathe in the car and not feel overly tense.

At the second church I discovered my music friend wasn't there so all the hymns had been changed. I made notes for the minister and then started the service just as she arrived. She took a moment to touch base with a couple of people with roles in the service while I went over the announcements.

A couple weeks ago I bought a carton of almond milk and a carton of Flaxseed milk to try because they are both lower in carbs than dairy milk. I tried the flaxseed milk first and absolutely loved it! I next tried the almond milk with equal expectations. I was very suprised to not be able to stomach the almond milk. :? No one else in the house liked it either so we ended up feeding the almond milk to the dog - he loved it. :D

Home from church. It was an excellent service with a message that I needed to hear. Today was one of the few times I didn't work in toddlers care during the sermon time (they had an abundance of help).

Lunch was bought/brought home from BBQ place located inside the local grocery store. Quick and easy (sliced brisket fresh from the cooker, corn on cob and hot dog for LO, freshly cooked pinto beans, and green salad)

LO is down for his nap. I'm going to put my feet up and hope for a Sunday afternoon nap too!
