I woke up feeling resentful of all I need to get done today and wishing we had waited until the kids winter break from school to invite these people over for dinner. I'm heading out now with my grocery list. DH is going to Torah study and will come home to help afterwards. Ds needs a ride downtown today to study at library with Z, who will spend the night with us, I think.

Besides grocery shopping and cooking and serving dinner for 7 people tonight, goals....
-have house cleaned up enough that driving to K-town won't throw me so far off tomorrow
-walk the ddogs
-continue filing work and decluttering in dh's "office"

I'm glad the day of the concert is almost here. So speed at this point is good!

Last night was our final rehearsal. The mass pieces were pretty good, excellent by second try. The quartet was too rough first time but we toned down the accompaniment and moved behind the piano and that balanced things much better (we were straining to sing over the piano before.) This is exactly why we have rehearsals.

I had to really push my music friend to rehearse her duet piece. She said she'd do it on Sunday at her church, and I said no, it had to be done at our church since we have a piano instead of keyboard and since the acoustics need to be worked out. She hadn't even brought her music. Sigh.... (My musician had some so she still had to rehearse but then blamed the page turns which she wouldn't have had to do if she had her music.) They have only sung the piece through once without her stopping so we are nervous about her accompaniment.

After everyone else left we put the alter area back (it has to removed for a liturgical dance) and I set up for Sunday morning. The musician didn't want to go home (her dh was babysitting) so we worked on a calypso hymn for Sunday with dh getting the percussion right for that. We have two calypso anthems for the concert too so then we messed around with adding percussion to those.

I put the battery candles in the windows and we decided to just do the 4 side windows and not do the back. Maybe I can find something else for those sills because they look bare. I put mini lights over the front of the choir loft railing and they look pretty. We'll have flowers there too on the night. My musician wants more decorations so I told her to do whatever she wanted, but there's no money. I think she'll get bows for the pews. I'll bring a garland to rope off the pews where the choir will be sitting. I don't have a lot of extra stuff now, last year, I tossed all my extras.

Rehearsal took 3 hours and then I vegged for 20 minutes and tackled the kitchen. It was a mess but three meals were cooked last night so we don't have to cook for the next two nights, so I didn't mind clean up.

I was in bed by 11 and up 8.5 hours later. Not bad. Saturday is the only day of the week when we wake naturally, not by the light or an alarm.

I'm doing an extended treadmill because I can. I'm ignoring all I have to do today.

I'm doing not very much yet this morning. Last night's sleep was somewhat broken up and not overly restful, so I'll probably end up having a nap later. Tonight is the company Christmas party, and although I'd originally debated going this year for the meal at least (turkey, ham, etc, and allllll the trimmings), I dithered long enough that all the tickets were sold out. Yesterday, a co-worker called me to let me know that two tickets had come up, and she wanted to go but her hubby would be out of town, so would I be interested in going? Since my DH is working tonight as well, I said I'd go. Of course, it's on the other side of the city *sigh*.

Even after two cups of coffee, I'm barely awake here... I think I'd better move nap to the top of the list!

Back from grocery. Also filled gas tank (again) and stopped at liquor store for wine.

-put perishables away
-start on lasagne sauce
-start making li&t for dh to do when he gets home
-meds + vitamins, me and ddogs

Good Morning All.

I have my list for today - much lighter than yesterday's heavy cleaning.

So far I have made file folders and filed all the papers on the desk. Still have oodles and oodles of them in a stash and dash format to do. But I will wade thru it. It is so nice now to have a file cabinet to file in so I can find things.

Twins - you are really going to it this morning.

BSweet - I didn't want to go to dinner last night but changed my mind at the last minute and we went. We had so much fun! And I didn't have to get supper.

KIC - I know how you feel about concert. Just want to get it over with so you can get on with your life. Happy singing.

DH is up now so I am going to hit the shower and then finish off my list. That way I can read this afternoon.

-start challah in breadmaker
-mix ingredients for salad dressing - with exception of tarragon vinegar which dh is to purchase this morning

Good morning everyone I love the title of today thread thanks Twins for posting that! Looks like every one is off to a great start today way to go!

I'm up and saw a lovely sunrise this morning when I put out to the apple cores for the squirrels it was quite mild. I saw that the leaves are rally coming down so that's going on the front of the line soon as it's warm enough.

With so many yummy foods in the fridge to eat it's hard to choose today's breakfast. I'm slowing working on putting the basement back I'd love to leave it set up for Christmas but then remembered that dgkids will be at their mom's except for the youngest ones and we go there so I will be unfolding tables. I need to get one or two more of the plastic table clothes from the $1.oo store for future use.

Only 2 things left on my TODO L**T. Try out new sewing machine and sand on the dresser.

But right now I am going to rest a bit and read for a bit. It isn't even noon yet and I have done 6 fairly large projects - not the least of which is sending DH off with all the Christmas letters to the mail.

I have some footprints to erase in the den/computer room (I don't know what to call this room) because of the Christmas letter. Paper and labels to put away etc.
