Good Morning!
** Good News - I made great progress on paperwork yesterday. I made 65 new files yesterday and focused on each one to completion.
** Not so good news - the house was almost ignored and needs some serious TLC today to make up for it.

Re: Fantastic Friday
Good morning!
I'm in a positive mood today. No reason at all. Seriously, if I think about what today holds I'll become less positive!
No sunshine today, either. Something is up with my back nerves and if they don't work out in the next few minutes I'm getting off the treadmill. I'm limping badly and I think limping badly on the treadmill is a bad idea since I'm afraid I'll put something else out of alignment as my body compensates.
I get to clean my house and the church today so there will be lots of activity.
Ok, having depressed myself thoroughly, I'm going to wander somewhere else on the internet. (Back nerve issues are subsiding as I type.)

Re: Fantastic Friday
Another day of moving. It is slow going but so far I am able to put each load away. Therefore, I hope to cut down on the pile of boxes when the movers come next Friday. eek, it's really happening.
The only errand I have today is to go to the farm supply store and look for the hand cream that dd2 and her dh use. This is the only thing he has ever found that works for him. She wasn't real sure of the name but described the container. She said that they have a hard time keeping it in stock because so many in the area use it. My fingers are cracked and I have been using clear plastic gloves as I move, so that I don't get blood on anything. TMI, sorry.
Dh is hoping to get away from work early today. I hope he can. He has a lot of work, mostly painting to cram into the weekend.
Sometime I need to find the time to go look at washer and dryers. I would like to have them bought and delivered before the move but don't know if I'll make it. We also need to buy a table and chair set for the kitchen dining area. What we have will be used in the formal dining room. Our family room sofa will be put in the sunroom, if they can get it out of our basement. We sold the recliners at the garage sale. They were 26 years old, still in good shape but dh was tired of them. We will buy new furniture for the basement family room, when we decide exactly what we want. The table, chairs and family room furniture may have to wait until after Christmas. I don't want to just settle for something, just to have it by Christmas.
We will have our Christmas with the girls and their families on Christmas Eve. This is dd2 year to have them Christmas Eve and Christmas morning. Next year they will be at their dads Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, then she gets them at noon on Christmas Day. On those years, we have our Christmas with them at night on Christmas day. After last year, she has decided that she will have their gifts before they go to their dads, instead of after they have Christmas dinner at her inlaws and before they come here. The main reason though is because her ex and his wife will not and I mean WILL NOT coordinate the gifts. Therefore more often than not, they get the some of the same things at both homes. Then if they already received something at their dads, they aren't thrilled with getting another one and dd2 gets her feelings hurt, when they act ungrateful.
Well I better quit babbling and get busy. I talk to all of you while I am packing. Trouble is, none of you hear it.

Re: Fantastic Friday
I'm ignoring Christmas. Not really. But I am ignoring making plans for who will be where, when and what we will eat. There are just too many unknowns happening between now and Christmas to make plans of what we will be doing. Between now and Christmas
** DBro in seriously bad physical condition. Won't go into details but each day he survives is a miracle.
** DDIL surgery and recovery (I will be doing DGS and DGD care)
** LO trial and dealing with all the emotions and outcome.
On a good news side - DGD celebrates her 1st birthday between now and Christmas. Our little miracle Granddaughter is about to turn one year old.
After being in hospital for weeks and on 4 times a day breathing treatments for almost a year, she is doing fantastic now.
Did I just say I'm ignoring Christmas and what we will eat????? Silly me.
I'm cooking a turkey tomorrow for Christmas meal at church on Sunday. And preparing a couple side dishes.....just as soon as I decide what they will be.

Re: Fantastic Friday
OKay You aren't ignoring Christmas, you are simply dealing with the items that are top priority for now. BTW: I happen to know that a big Christmas dinner can be pulled together very quickly without much thought. Between habit and ready-made stuff at the store, I found myself on auto-pilot and everything that needed to be there was there. (We had a frozen stuffed turkey, instead of fresh with homemade stuffing but no-one cared.)
This isn't the year for you to have Martha Stewart place names at each seat at the table. And we all agree that being with people and creating memories is more important than stuff. You've already created a wonderful memory for your dgs' girlfriend, I know the season will be full of memory building events. They may not be the traditional Christmas memory building events but time spent holding hands in a hospital probably creates more precious memories than time spent sipping eggnog and chatting about the weather with acquaintances.

OKay, you're doing great. I'd be taking a "wait and see" stance, too. I would NOT be cooking big meals for church, however - I think you are taking on too much in that area, but you know what's best for you.
Kathryn, optimism is probably going to chase you today; might as well give in!
Lilac, as I read about coconut oil (consistency of soft butter, found at organic groceries), there was a lot of mention of it as a hand cream that worked very quickly and healed cracked places.
dsecondmil has gotten herself into a pickle trying to remake the top of curtains to fit a regular rod rather than pleated, and wants to bring the whole thing over here for me to rescue. I was pretty clear with her that this is going to take me some time to get to, so I hope she HEARS me. She was still talking about needing it ASAP and I can't be an ASAP person right now. I will not do this while she waits. It was my intention to S2S this morning but as so often happens I did not get ahead of interruptions so I lost my chance.
update - dmil has given up on coming today - got halfway here and realized she hadn't put curtains in the car. I told her that sounds like something I might have done.

Re: Fantastic Friday
Harriet I hear you! Waving to all.
Woke up with a low bs this morning it's a challenge to remember to have healthy stuff when this happens but I enjoyed that cookie!
We have fog here today. Coffee is brewed.
Yesterday was good got the last of the leaves bagged up in one area and that felt awesome.
For dinner last night I did up some frozen chicken breast that I baked with a can of crushed tomatoes Italian style on top with veggies was excellent and SO easy I'll keep that recipe.
It's the other granny's day today.

Re: Fantastic Friday
Okay, Kathryns post is so on the money on every count.
I need to quit worrying about the moving and Christmas. When I think what you are facing in the next few weeks, Okay, I know what I am or am not doing is very small potatoes in the grand scheme of life.
Harriet, wish I would have checked in again before I went to farm supply store. This product is called O' Keeffe's W orking H ands.
Nancy, I have only been using 1 unit of insulin for my breakfast and lunch meals. In between each meal I end up low because of the extra moving that I am doing. I have been using those lows to enjoy treats to up it enough to the next meal. When I was at the dr. Monday, I told him about this and he said that I have to take at least 1 unit and to eat as much as I need to, to keep it up. Also, I received my A1C results and they had went up .3 and I had expected it to drop. I go back in 3 months and I hope to have a huge drop, if that one was accurate. After the mix-up, I kind of wonder.

Re: Fantastic Friday
My thoughts and wishes go out to each of you with difficult schedules and hard things right now.
Lilac I was just about to ask what kind of hand cream that was, when you wrote in..I might try some, I have bad issues with my hands too. I find udder cream works about the best so far.
Wasted the morning fixing bank account. I had it seriously messed up, though not that the bank knew (sorry you had that problem the other day OKay). And then discovered a form I needed to fill out for insurance policy, and that took a while also. Sigh....leaves me very behind.
Was supposed to go to church for an hour for a mailing, and ran out to get into car and car was gone - DH took it somewhere, so I called in to regret...not taking the truck down there when he'd come back and need that next. I did tell him I needed car this AM but honestly he comes home so tired he doesn't hear much of what I say, or he just tunes me out...
Oh, well, off to finish and start on something else. I'd planned a shopping trip on way home from church. Obviously that didn't happen, I'm so behind, no breakfast yet, ak!
