Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
I swept my kitchen and washed a few hand-wash dishes. Also tossed a load of laundry into the washer, with another load or two planned. I think I need a dust mop for my floors. They don't get dirty as much as they get dusty.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
Lunch has been obtained with friends. One friend has taken two days vacation to declutter her house. We calculated that my entire house (1250 sq ft) would fit inside her gym, including my garage! I have art class tonight, a movie with friends tomorrow night, and just made Saturday afternoon plans with a friend. We are going to a children's museum. If I have time, I can get together some fabric to donate there! At payroll I am waiting on my boss to finish looking at my software verification report.

Helia Yes, 29 days will be my longest on board a ship. And this is the smallest ship we've been on so far. Only 290 passengers if she is full (and 222 crew) but she won't be near full for the first part. This is a repositioning cruise and the first segment is 18 days, with only 6 in port, the rest at sea. The second segment in 11 days and we have only 1 sea day, otherwise it is a new port each day. That sort of cruising I hate and dh will want to see most of the ports. We might be able to skip some in Spain but he is excited to get to Morocco.
My previous longest cruise was 28 days and on day 27 I was thrilled to be packing to go home. So I figure this will be the same.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
I've tried to cuop a little bit. This week has just been a whir. Went to Orlando today to meet dpastor from up home for lunch. DD and I did a 'dry run' on Saturday since we were going to Ikea.
Went by the doubletree and found a restaurant practically out the door from the conference center. Went there today and dpastor called about 20 minutes after we got there to say she was inside. ????? We looked around but didn't see her. After some discussion we finally discovered that the conference was at a DIFFERENT Doubletree Inn and she was at a restaurant about 3 miles from there. After many calls we finally wound our way to where she was. She only had 2 hours. THEN our dinners were long-delayed because when the waitress hit "send" on the computer -of course it just sat there. So dpastor had her lunch and we finally got ours.
Got instructions how to get back to the hotel but goofed up a little and was driving through a couple of parking lots, but finally got her there -5 minutes before the next event was starting. I-4 however was just around the corner -so that part was easy.
Tomorrow I have to do the bulletin for Sunday's service. Hoping I can remember enough of the steps to get it done correctly. The church secretary is back in Indiana for a funeral service for her Dsisil.
Took a short nap after I got back. I definitely have to find some activity. I've flirted with the same 4 pounds ever since I got here in November. DD has been doing great in that area -she's now lost about 44 pounds since we got here. Her Dr. had advised her not to eat potatoes, pasta or bread. That's it -that's about all she's done. She's on thyroid meds and that was upped a while ago. Before that she never had much metabolism and was thoroughly unable to lose. She's getting close to having no clothes. But the pile for charity keeps growing.
Guess I should go see if I can find something for supper. We've been without an over for about 3 weeks now (mother board is out being repaired). Amazing how many things we think of and discard because we need the oven.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
I should cook myself some supper too. Like Elizabeth, I find it hard to cook for one. Unlike her, I have no good excuse for my inertia - I'm home all day so could start something easily.
Dh has ordered up something super simple for Saturday night because he'll be jet lagged. He asked for homemade turkey soup, so maybe I'll buy a turkey leg or breast tomorrow and cook that up for my dinner, tossing the leftovers into the soup.
But for tonight, it is too late to go out and buy turkey so I'll probably have a lasagna and large salad. I'm not eating poorly, just not imaginatively.
Edited to add: That last sentence inspired me to do better so I'm having a snack of cheese and crackers to carry me over until my dinner is ready. I'll be having salmon with sweet potato oven fries and a salad. The salmon filet was in the freezer and dh reminded me before he left that it should be eaten up. By me. He doesn't like salmon.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
I think I have untangled some of the MED CO mystery. Dh had to have his own account now that we have separate id numbers. Unfortunately one of my scripts is now listed under his. But I think we're getting closer. YAY!
Speaking of dinner think I'll go warm up some of my leftovers from lunch. DH had jambalya and has enough left for his dinner. DD and DSIL have gone to Chi li's for dinner and will bring something back for dgd. And dd said that dgd's "behavior analyst" finally contacted dd and they are meeting tomorrow after school. That means we're picking up dgd but hoping it will be a good meeting for dd and this person has some suggestions.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
K in C you said you would be traveling to Washington is the DC not Washington state right?
When we traveled by motor cycle I always accounted for getting a couple of tee shirts that I would not need to pack!
I've been on a walk, the library called and the book I wanted came in today it's before the one I got yesterday I'm glad I waited on diving in to it. Took back the kids DVD and books while I was there glad to have that done.
Freezer is happily thawing and we are 75% done with that process now.
Tuna sil caught is for dinner thawed and ready to go, I'll do up some biscuits from a jiffy mix and green beans, cookies & ice cream for dessert for the young ones. H. has already had his.
None for me as I had a cookie for breakfast and the ice cream is gone. I would have gotten more but with the defrosting on the docket for Jan. I knew not to get anything frozen I can't believe how much just defrosting it interrupts life! That explains why it was a couple of years since the last time I did it and it's taking longer than one day to defrost!
Freezer is defrosted and cleaned, refilled and turned back on phew
I"m SO glad to have THAT job done!
We have a "Barney" cake in the oven their mom fed them before they came but they can have a snack. So last night I was thinking I needed to use that cake pan I had been using for draining water out of the deep freezer. It's such a hit dgd loved mixing up the batter.
I have frosting so they will do that in a while. They are dancing around the living room singing "Barney cake, Barney cake , Barney cake it's SO cute!

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
Nancy, your grandkids sound adorable and I'll bet they keep your home lively when they're there.
Still at it. Mail came and I sat down and did a couple charge bills, always a big job checking all the receipts and figuring out if it was personal or business and writing a couple checks for each. Glad to have that done, I won't have to do it tomorrow. I set up the new file.
Chilli was good; kitchen's cleaned up. I'm still sewing. I'm almost bleary-eyed over this thing.

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
Hi everyone....Well, it looks like tomorrow we will be getting some of the rain others have had the past few days.
Dh and I have had a couple of busy days. He had blood tests yesterday for blood count and inr. Inr was up too high and bl. count was too low. He has been chilled lately and tired. So yesterday afternoon dr. office called and made arrangements for him to be at the hospital early this morning for more blood tests and transfusion - they gave him two units. We were there from 7:30 am to nearly 2 pm!
Yesterday he also had an appointment with the ENT dr., his final follow up for the broken nose. Dr. said he is healing well and to call if needed!
We spent last evening with my dcousin who is here for the winter. It was good to see her and her dh again. She had a good dinner and we all enjoyed the visit. We'll have them here in the next week or so. She and I will probably get together for lunch a couple of times before they leave for Alaska in April.
I'm hoping with tomorrow being Friday and with the weather we're supposed to get I will be able to catch up on weekly chores and get ready for the weekend.
Everyone's meals sounded good today. We had spinach pies and Greek salad from one of our local deli restaurants (take out). It was good, haven't had that for a while.
Neither of us got much sleep the last couple of nights and dh just fell asleep in his chair. I think it will be an early night for us!
Forgive me not answering all your posts "out loud". Sending good thoughts out to everyone!

Re: Thursday "Where's the motivation?"
Nancy:, yes, that's DC, not the state of.
This will be my longest flight ever at 8150 miles. But since we have to stop to refuel in Senegal along the way, it won't be my longest flight time, that honour goes to Toronto - Hong Kong. Sydney to Vancouver is 50 miles longer than Toronto - Hong Kong but takes less time because of prevailing winds. Actually, anything over 8 hours in the air is just long (it was almost 18 hours to get to Hong Kong.)
This flight will be 17 hours including refueling time but since we land I'm not sure whether that will make the flight seem longer or shorter. Not sure if we stay on the plane or get off during refueling.
