Optimism is a great thing for today.

I’m optimistic that everything will work out for Indiana and Jake, as well as for Okay and LO.

Today is writing Wednesday for me. I need to be optimistic I can pull this off - I have to finish the self evaluation questions and mail them in. Writing when the boat is rocking is tough so I hope I can think clearly enough.

Dh and I stayed in and I had salad, bruchetta and pizza for dinner last night. Dh had a couple of slices of dinner. We watched Casablanca and Bacall on Bogart from the extras disc. Then dh decided he was going to be sick. I made him put on his sea bands and that helped a bit and he made it through the night without being sick and feels a lot better this morning.

I feel a headache coming on which is a sign the rocking is getting to me. Winds are high but not dangerous and the sea isn't that bad, only about 6 - 9'.

I'm just up so will try exercising since I didn't get any walking in yesterda.

What a good start to PWYC, Lisa! I like the word, "optimistic" for how it sounds as well as it's meaning. It just sounds playful and expectant to me! I almost see myself winking as I say it.... "I'm going to be ... optimistic!" As though anything can happen.

Yikes, Kathryn, glad you two are prepared for seasickness and head it off at the pass.

Sunny, I was amused at your in-a-pinch stapling - that would work wouldn't it? Glad you joined me in the safety pin concept when you could, though, so your hosiery was safe! I was also interested in the yo-yos. You must have had fun with that.

It is SO icky-rainy here. HRH says he will call today before he comes home and pick up a few things for us if I'll have a list, so I need to do that. Between dd and my ddad they almost ran out of milk by the time breakfast was over.

Dd heard through the middle school grapevine that her (fav) English teacher, whom she has for first period, had a very bad day yesterday. By the time of one of her late-day classes, students say she threw something against a wall and announced that their behavior was so bad she was considering quitting teaching. I hate to hear this, because she has always struck me as a calm and collected, happy person, very interested in - and amused by - her students. Dd wanted to do something, so I suggested an apple. She said, yes, she liked that wordless symbolism, but couldn't be obvious about it, so she carried a brown paper bag to school today. LOL. I'm hoping the school gossip chain is exaggerating and things look much better this morning.

Good morning! I am optimistic I am going to get a lot of flowcharts done today. Last night, DD10 had done her homework before I picked her up for Girls Night Out! We had extra time, so after Chinese dinner and Chuck E Cheese, we went to the bookstore. I am hoping that the connection between extra time and completed homework will stick. At CEC, I started a new crochet project: an American Girl doll play clothes outfit. After XDH picked up DD, I got some stuff done: ran the dishwasher, updated Quicken, and sewed an arm on Bug-A-Boo. Wednesday is usually dinner at church, but XDH has a dinner he has to go to, so I am getting DD for dinner and Girl Scouts. My watch does not handle leap year, so I am thinking a day ahead.

Day off no granny duty what to do we have rain in the forecast so it will be inside maybe some sewing. It was Bible study day but I did not get in gear fast enough.

Make chili x, walk 1/2 done. Kitchen spiff done. Dining room needs attn. specifically the table. H. wanted to take a drive do some finish but it's cool here I said to go ahead w/out me I'd need to wait a few weeks for warmer weather aka spring!

Two gals I know of complain of the cold having to keep heat at 68* not much for shoes or flip flops and I wonder why they do not better shoes on to help my feet would be cold too if that's all I wore on my feet. ~sigh~

I like the pioneer stories bc I always have it better than they had it with running water and helps my perspective on life.

(Harriet's DD) how did she like the apple? I once had a HS music teacher who got so frustrated she overturned her piano bench. My private piano teacher told me this teacher had once walked off the stage during a performance when she worked at another school.

Teachers and Mothers (and secretaries) are not supposed to get frustrated and upset like that. Hmmmmph!

I read your posts about rain with wistful thoughts. I could use a nice cloudy rainy day here, they are so peaceful. Sunshine 24/7 gets old sometimes. Only people in Florida (and maybe Arizona) would understand that.

I've been trying to close out the month, and got partway through that when I stopped to pay a charge bill. I've spent the past 2 hours+ trying to figure out a $50.00 + charge, with DH on the phone a couple times (he's clueless) and unable to get into pay pa l acct or get their help on the phone; cleaned entire office and looked at every piece of paper, and a couple files. Finally figured it all out, and it was our charge which we gladly made...

So now I have a totally reorganized office and need to dust everything before its covered again. I drown in paperwork around here. glugg glugg.

Sorry to hear about Jake, Indiana. But maybe the rules can be lessened after a while.

Harriet: When I was a Home Ec major at college - it was said the the mark of a good Home Eccy was that she could wear a safety pin without it showing. I have done it many times. Also taped a hem with scotch tape several times and used a stapler on a couple seams.

DH doing much better today. He is antsy so he is going to Congress for the mail and will stop at Dollar Store for some cookies.

Me - I'm a sloth today. Did not get up until almost 10 and no shower until after noon. I SHOULD do something - but I don't think I am going to. Well, I will make some lists as we are going to a rally on Sunday for a week.

I am now on page 41 of a flowchart. There are 36 cross references. This is mind boggling. I hope it's of use to someone in the future.
