After posting the other day that I wish I had worked more on decluttering the attic in April, I set the timer for 30 minutes & headed up there. So pleased to report that the table is now cleared off! :D Ta Da! I also chipped away at the pile that is left, & was able to fill one large trash bag & one box for donation. Dcat supervised :) . He loves to run upstairs if the attic door is open & I leave an old chair cushion on the table for him to lay on. He ended up on the bottom shelf of a cabinet I was working in, stretched out on a folded blanket & purring like a freight train. He's such good company :) .

Found some things up there that I wished I had room for on the main floor. Realized that a shelf in the guest bedroom would be a good storage spot, but dh had a ton of stuff stored there. When I mentioned cleaning out that closet several weeks ago he agreed, but we never got to it. So yesterday I tricked/got his help :P by asking if I could have 15 minutes of his time. Suspicious but laughing, he asked what for. I wouldn't tell him until he admitted he had the time to give :P . When I finally told him my plan, he laughed again & said "Ooooooh No!" :) . I said we only had to do the shelf & nothing else.

He started examining each item & looking in every bag as he removed things. Remembering P&P's advise to take everything out & then decide what goes back, I was able to convince dh to quickly hand me everything so I could lay it on the bed. Several things got tossed, & almost half of the items were relocated to better places -- winter hats & gloves to the hall closet, paperwork to the office, some souvenir Tshirts into the laundry hamper (which will then be put away with his other Ts), camera accessories with his other camera stuff in another closet, etc.

After about 30 minutes we were still sorting & dh said,"I think we've been doing this longer than 15 minutes!" I said we could stop, close the door, & come back to it another time. But he wanted to finish, which I admit I had counted on when I first asked for 15 minutes of his time :P . When we were done I had space on the shelf for 2 large storage baskets. One has some of my stuff in it, the other I want to fill with guest sheets & towels so everything is in that room instead of up in the attic.

I'm off to have lunch & then I'll head back up to the attic for another session since it is nice & cool here today. I love how seeing progress on a big project really energizes me to continue working on it. Be back later to have some tea & cuop.

Waving ~~~~~ to everyone!

Change in plan Wed.

Dgd is here; dgson will not be coming after school after all; dd said she just got a call from the school he bit a kid on the elbow toda and got a referral she said as she sighed! His dad is going to be off early and will be working on his new mini bike that might be some thing that could be used as a reward if it were me I'd

In my journal today I made a list of things I could do in the basement ; like paint the steps again after we took the carpet off a while back [Painting will have to be another day but we do have the paint!] Some minor zone work cards did some of those today. I set up a toy zone in the rec. room. I'm trying to look at it with new eyes. Now that h. has the shredding done the tool room can be organized a bit more; he asked what was on the agenda for today.
But our plans got changed when dson called for h. to help him this afternoon. I've spiffed up the basement organized a few things in the storage craft zone area couple of items are outside now to be sorted and de-cluttered from the tool room as well. I cleaned off the washer we do not use as dson left his here and it's the one that's hooked up. Some old paint cans etc. that need to go too. Amazing what you can do just during commercials isn't it?

I'm impressed, Dove. Wonder if the 15 minute thing would work here?

I did make it down to the nursing home. Friend was very pleased that I'd come and we had a nice visit. She is getting a little harder to understand, though. She said she misses getting out to church. Her family is in different states, so all she has is her church friends.

I stopped at the post office on the way back. 2 cards to mail. It's looking like we might get some rain. Yay!

Harmony I know for sure that h. would have yelled right back if it had been him answering the phone! The nerve!

I'm putzing in the basement moved the gkids cubes for storage. Dgd had a blast helping me do that and  I rearranged them so they are more her height!

It's raining outside now so will be re-thinking my walk having coffee now.
Trying to think about how I can more effectively group my art stuff together!

Wonder of Wednesday for me -- final issue of the school paper is at the printer! Woo hoo for THAT!!!
I still have to make 600 copies each of 10 pages  Yep. That IS shocking, isn't it? Back & front, so it's five sheets, times 600... Still pretty overwhelming. These are the "insert" pages -- stuff that doesn't fit on the 20 pages we have professionally printed, stuff that doesn't require photographs, and stuff like "Senior Wills" in this issue. Eight pages of senior wills. So silly... but kids buy the paper to read them, and they seem to enjoy them. Sometimes they get me in a little bit of an awkward situation b/c they use some sort of terminology that I didn't "get," you know, and it ends up being a joke at someone's expense or a double entendre...
But it'll be okay.

Must go. BBL!
Tomorrow is another day.

I am back from out of town. Had a scare at the badge office. The sign said it was closed, this after a 2 hour drive to get there. Turns out it reopened after lunch, but really had me worried. I need to call someone at a hardware store for swamp cooler repair person. I had lunch on the road (Japanese food-yum), so I still have lunch in the office fridge. Will eat it Friday, tomorrow is lunch with friends.

I got through both meetings - first with rabbi then with not-dfriend who emailed the rabbi. Dh keeps reminding me to not take it personally, but sometimes it's just that I know too much about personalities and how a person handles himself, and there's a lot in this person not to like. Awkwardly, this is also one of the couple who are dd's mentors, P and D so that makes it even harder.

Unfortunately, I think I've been so busy lately that once I got through these two meetings, I've just collapsed. I am going to *try* to find the BGS, and apply it liberally.

-reboot laundry
-clear kitchen table (still trip stuff there!)
-take out kitchen trash
-wipe out microwave, and wipe down stove and microwave front
-refill meds containers

Here goes....

I just called Sears to fix the swamp cooler. It will be $100 just for them to come out + whatever it costs to fix the thing. Yikes! I think I will take out my frustrations on some weeds. Good night everyone.
