sherinjoy, how is ds enjoying this semester at college?
These Mother's Day cards are making me smile. I'm so glad to have gotten finished with them so early. HRH addressed them and I found great Happy Mother's Day stickers for the seals in, of all places, a book of student reward stickers! Dd32's must go in the mail tomorrow to make sure she gets hers in time, since her tiny town's miniscule PO doesn't have the timeliness or operating hours of others.
Sighing to hear of the grandma Kathryn sees up in the play place cubbies. LOL. My grandboys would be safe from my interference up there.

Re: Comfort Tuesday
Hello again. It is Girls Night Out again. DD10 got into trouble at school so I am going to tell her where we are going. (Chinese food at the restaurant followed by library). We cannot stay in because she gets no TV or movies tonight. XDH is picking her up early so she will get a good nights rest. Tonight I need to put stuff away for the maids, set sheets out, and put a note about not letting the cat out of the sewing room.

Comforting things --- a long hug from dh, petting my purring dcat -- which always bring ddog running for her share of petting
, looking at birds & flowers in the yard, drinking a cup of tea while writing in my journal, visiting the village to cuop.
Looking forward to tomorrow when I don't have to leave the house at all
Off to have a late dinner of spaghetti & meatballs. Waving ~~~~~ to everyone!

Re: Comfort Tuesday
I've been up in those slide / tunnel things in a playground, cleaning with my DD. Only one day. And I don't think I looked like the grandma described here. Come to think of it, that was a few years ago. I wonder if I could even do that now?
I've been pondering all day why I couldn't put my finger on anything that really really was comforting to me. I did come up with a couple things, but didn't feel like those were the answer. It came to me a while ago that my greatest comfort comes from spending a couple hours of quiet in our library. I feel like I leave the world behind when I enter and there is always a second of ah-oh what's on my cell phone sitting in the car, what did I miss when I get back out to the car.
I've done dinner. This evening I'm sewing.
I wonder how Bittersweet is doing with her cat bite?

Re: Comfort Tuesday
Play time w/ grand kids is comforting to me; we made up a game to play in the shade this afternoon and that was great fun for all of us! We used the golf balls and clubs were like rails
to roll the balls into the wagon in a 1-2" tall container. They picked more flowers on a walk shorter as it was warmer so we did not make it to the animals this time,
but I have a nice bouquet in my window now!
H. has showered and is sleeping now, I told him ice cream for dinner and got no arguments! LOL!
Dgd picked out gogurts they were not frozen yet but very cold so that snack hit the spot, I promised them that tomorrow they would be frozen.
Knitting not that I've done any this month is comforting to me, journaling & letter writing can be a comfort, and my sheep flannel sheet dgd is not the only one that has a fav. blankie, dgson has one with various balls on it here as well, soccer, base ball, foot ball etc.
Got a pen pal letter in the mail and one from my mom that was a comfort. Dd told me about a kink in some job site stuff not at the one they were with it was a comfort for me to know that just listening helped her! They found like 35 bats when removing shingles off the roof they did this week!

Re: Comfort Tuesday
It's 10:15 and I'm headed to bed. DD and I took the deck heater out of the van and removed its box. Gave us more space -then we put down the two middle seats -lots more room. Fitted everything in and even some of the things dd had decided to not take up right now (they're summer things for her motorhome). I had gone through some boxes and files, etc and slimmed them down. Know that made a big difference. So I'm comforted and can hopefully sleep tonight without loading and reloading the car a hundred times.
I'm taking dd to school (work) about 6:45 and then I gave gd her choice of places to go for breakfast. It will be too early for her to go to school (she's supposed to be there around 8-8:15). So what did she pick? Mc D's -because they have cinnamelts. So it'll be okay. I'm coming back to the house afterwards and probably do up the dishes. I've pretty much done everything else including vacuuming our room. From here I plan to go see DSisIL and tell her goodbye. It's about 10 minutes from her house to pick up dd at school around 12:30. Then we'll head to my db/dsisil's. May even stop for a bite of lunch.
I was very happy we didn't have to take all of DS-A's shirts out of the boxes.
I can hardly believe all I accomplished today! I take great COMFORT in that! Wish I was this productive every day.
Got back on the computer to order a book for my K indle. So better do that and hit the hay. NOt sure when I'll get back on. Will try in the morning. I don't have internet at home yet but might try on my phone.

Re: Comfort Tuesday
Well I have to adjust my plans. These last 2 days I have not accomplished the cleaning that I had planned. It has to be done tomorrow, along with emptying this chest freezer so I can defrost it. Dd2 has taken what she wants and said we can have what we want and throw away anything that isn't good. I might as well defrost it. Then I can empty my freezer at the other house.
Dhs oldest sister that is now a 5 year oral cancer survivor, went yesterday for her twice yearly tests. Today she found out the results. I have been really nervous over this and just can't seem to concentrate on anything but her. The dr. said that her spleen is enlarged. Dsisil asked if it was cancer and the dr. said she didn't think so. Anyway now she will go to her regular dr. and he will start more testing that the cancer center has recommended. Her thyroid is way out of whack, her electrolytes were all extremely low. I feel uneasy over the spleen being enlarged but at least they are starting testing. She was told it was enlarged when she went 6 months ago, that time this same dr. blew it off. Now it's a big deal.
I finally finished ironing a large pile of dhs shirts.
Guess I better head to bed. I only have 3 days left and lots to do.

Re: Comfort Tuesday
I was here earlier to cuop and got distracted so didn't post here.
Wanted to tell Dee I hope her trip home is safe with good weather and no incidents!
Wow, Indiana, you did have a lot of rain. Did you see the ducks and geese on your walk today. Hope they rebuild!
Harriet, I agree with you about companies sponsoring programs that I think are questionable morally and legally. And have you noticed that a good percentage of commercials are using a "sexy" undertone to sell their goods? I'm not prudish but I can see that looks, dress, actions etc. sometimes have nothing to do with what is being advertised. Ah, I guess the bottom line is $$$ and advertisers will use whatever means they can to sell whatever.
Dh had a dr. appt yesterday and I went with him just for the ride. The doctor said all is ok and will see him in 6 months. Also took him off the hormone pill. He was really happy about that!
Comfort to me is cuddling under a soft blanket and reading a favorite magazine or book or my Bible, or sitting outside with a cup of tea watching the birds and squirrels in our yard, or sitting quietly with dh watching the sunset out on the beach, or wandering around "our Village" reading the different threads for new tips and info.
Lilac, sorry to hear about your dh's sister. It's good that they will start testing. Will hold her in my thoughts and prayers.

Re: Comfort Tuesday
Best wishes for your journey Dee.
Prayers for Lilac's SIL and family.
Indiana thats a lot of water. Hope the birds can find a safe place to rebuild. Does the pond take the storm water from the buildings? If its a stormy season the high water may come often.
Theres comfort for me in a healthy breakfast. Or a relax on the couch snuggling under a rug. Or legs over the back of chaise.
Today someone I know backed into my car in the parking lot. Big sigh. buckled the bumber. At least the tail light isn't damaged this time. I need get a quote. Hoping its not too much and she can cover it. Getting quote is a job for tomorrow. Then ring and let her know.
New yoga teacher seems good, but earlier time coincides with spin class in the gym and that is LOUD. Hoping we can get time changed back. What - our teacher even had her music on ??? Impossible to hear.
